Roger could have fronted any number of bands. He just had the brilliance to recognize Freddie. This is a hard video to watch but thank you Roger for singing that song.
Every time I've seen Brian and Roger do this song live, I've seen tears in their eyes and I doubt there's been a dry eye in the house. On top of it, Roger actually wrote this one, although it came toward the end when writing credits went to all of them. The extreme closeness both musically and personally between Roger and Brian is also obvious. Those guys have been together about 50 years and personally they have the same non-verbal communication as biological brothers. And musically they're able to feel what the other is doing or going to do. All 4 of the guys had that rare capability, but between those 2 it was always very strong. I'm thrilled they're still touring with them soon turning 70 and 72 in this year of 2019. May God keep them healthy and able to spread at least SOME of the Queen magic for several years to come!

When I look and I find no change' Roger changed the last part to 'when I look and I find Brian May'... because apart from Roger himself, Brian is the only one who remained apart of the band. Roger did a solid job on this song. My GOD this song is hard to listen to. Its one of the most beautiful songs Queen ever done, but its damned hard to listen to, esp when looking at clips of them back in their early days. It speaks to the hearts of all of us older individuals, who can relate to what this song says. We all look back at our lives the same way. IN this song........ we get to look back at Queen when they were young and life was carefree and fun. I love Queen.........and what a beautiful tribute to their dear beloved friend and bandmate, Freddie. You can feel their loss and their love in this song....... it is a poetic dance of pain and memory, love and sentiment, terrible heartache , deep longing and total respect and gratitude, all in one smooth flowing motion............. I love this song because it evokes memories of a first love whose life was ended by AIDS in August, 1991. My husband helped me care for my ex-lover, which speaks volumes about my husband’s character. While I will always love JWB, I made the right choice with my husband. This songs captures the nostalgia and love that I still feel. Well done, Roger and Brian. ❤

What a brilliant band. Although Freddie was untouchable as a vocalist, Roger is amongst the best singers around. And has there ever been a guitarist with the touch of Brian. Delicate and gentle one minute then thunderous lay heavy the next. John is one of the most creative bassists ever. All the high fretboard runs. Amazing. Pity he doesn't want to be in the band anymore.
It's more than John Deacon just missing Freddie. From reading lots of books about the band and interviews Etc it just seems that John was never really The rocker deep down in his soul the way the other band members were. 1 interview he said that he never thought the band would really take off and then if it did take off and lasted several years he'd feel very lucky. I think he greatly enjoyed the success of Queen but didn't need to have it to make his life complete. Obviously very into his marriage and six children. I think when Freddie died was almost an excuse for him to back out of a lifestyle that he had gotten caught up in almost by surprise. And they already had gobs of money so he certainly didn't need to keep performing for that reason.
