Jesse says that they plan to grow and expand their sound with the next couple of albums. I think growing and expanding are understatements considering their discog in 2016.
His music really touched my life. You can tell he’s a good person because of the lyrics in his songs, they’re mostly about self acceptance and overcoming tough situations.
@@misfitmeech except that’s not what he was talking about there. he meant that he and this girl were both older now but that doesn’t mean things will work out for them just because they’re seemingly more mature than they were before

i like how jesse says theyre a versatile band and they dont listen to a lot of the music in the genre. and then he says we want to surprise people. well i can say i never expected deja entendu to be my all time favorite album and i can say that because its one of a kind and surprised me.
That last clip sounds like the best performance of Mixtape, and my second favorite performance of it is that other one as a floor-show. If theres a full version of this show that was shown, I want that or just the full performance of Mixtape.
When I met him he was extremely nice and was fairly conversational, although he did seem a little bashful. He does shy away from pictures and even said that he felt like an ass for doing so but he said he was very self-conscious about taking lots of pictures. I know Vinnie and maybe some of the other guys smoke but I'm pretty sure Jesse doesn't.
"I never wanted anyone to feel like they can't come up and talk to us before or after a show" said the most iconically fan-loathing/fearing frontman of a generation, lmfao.

@ChandraTheSwift182 Haha... that's interesting. I guess Vince likes crickets? Also, when you're so busy it's easy to forget about specific dates. I don't blame him.
who cares how old the crowd is? They still love the music, i mean of course they wanna play for more then just that but who cares if there kids, that just means the kids like good music
what would it matter? if someone wants to hear your music that's all that should matter. you can't really disregard a younger audience any more than you can an older one. everybody needs music.
Jesse's perspective has definitely changed a lot since then. I don't think they're really interested in being the biggest band anymore; it seems they work hard to stay under the radar, actually. Also, I'm not sure how "approachable" Jesse Lacey is nowadays. But, I still adore Brand New.
@latertodaysaint Yo calm down haha he didn't mean any disrepect I agree with him... Brand New was a pop-punk/emo band from Long Island but (like he said in the vid) they were more diverse than that... As you can tell by listening to what they've grown into... Sounds nothing like when they started.. They really grew up. -.- Don't get so offended tiger.
brother? jus looks like different grades to me... maybe the younger kids are at the front because they wouldn't be able to see shit with the bigger kids in front...
He is weird as shit in person. When i met him he had a cricket in his pocket and when my gf asked to see it he told her to make sure he got it back because it was a gift for vince because he was having family problems. I also asked if he was excited about the following tuesday and he asked why and i told him thats when the devil and god was released. he was like OH i forgot... i guess you have to be a little weird to write such amazing songs.
This is true. I've heard so many horror stories from fans who have met him. I've been a fan since YFW came out, never met him and honestly don't want to. You can't blame him, though. I've seen the girls that go to their shows. A good portion of them are definitely not there for the music. Then you have the ones who think he's the greatest ever, call him a "God" and whatnot. It's a bit creepy. I just hope he knows that not all female Brand New fans are like that.
The middle school kids moshing during 70X7 and singing along to mixtape is literally the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Well, truthfully I was in the 6th grade when Your Favorite Weapon came out. I've been listening to them since..
ToFinishFirst haha, yeah you're right.
its actually adorable. if you were to show me it as a still picture and i didnt know brand new i would have thought it was a children's band

These kids are probably in their mid to late 20's by now. Holy shit.
Bianca Vanessa 28 I was maybe 13 or 14 when their first album dropped.

Jesse Lacey is truly a genious. I love him and his lyrics!
The funny thing I find about these comments is that WE were those kids.

Yeah, I saw them live real early because I’m from like 30 minutes from Belmar.
in the early 2000s high school kids looked a lot younger

Jesse seems so happy in this interview, which is why I like going back and watching it.
i would love to be that close but idk why theres so many kids there that look 12 LOL
