God damn right it was. Just a little correction though, Meow Meow was upstairs over a flooring business in Portland on the east side of the river. Such a good spot. Was at this show right here. Didn't quite know what I was witnessing the beginning of. Also saw them here on tour with Taking Back Sunday and Rufio. Same room. Death Cab played a few nights later. Saw Coheed there too. What a time to be alive.
Sorry, sometimes my metaphors get lost in a lack or sentences, basically being that clubs like the meow meow resemble countless friend's basements, which was the type of shows I lived for, as well as played for. As for not knowing what you were witnessing, that's the best type of show, as I was stuck in the middle of a swaying crowd at the 9:30 club, as I then accidentally bumped into a buddy, who asked, "Dude, you like Glassjaw?" 'No idea who they are!' I replied. They opened with "Tip Your Bartender," and I wouldn't have wanted to be introduced to one of my favorite bands any other way, nor stop thinking about the positive emotions from that place in time.

We are gen Z, millennials are 25-34 year olds
Really not feeling the social criticism from the 2 cynical attendees talking directly into the camera, but then again, 2002 was a hell of a year to be 16 in someone's basement.
August 5th, 2002. Here is a flyer from it. imgur.com/a/rYeMI
Jordan Harris you lucky duck
@@dnask8 holy shit Rufio. Thanks for the mind feels.
I was born apr. 54139.9 on a small terrestrial planet of Prxoxima and I love earth music
youre nuts
Damn bro I never seen this before!!! Brand New forever! My first likable rock band ever lol it essentially made me appreciate what ‘Music’ is
The 11 dislikes are from taking back Sunday and their crew
😂😂😂 I liked both bands back in the day but Brand New are way better!!
This is so kick ass, would’ve been an experience in person for sure.
no longer
Saw them in 2002 with A Static Lullaby of all bands
Pure nostalgia. My heart hurts
Same here man...
What a relief! I'm not the only one who can't time "....and Morrissey" right. >.
Man I wish I had a time machine.
bro you said it.
I want this in my life
What an epic freakin show. Wish I could have seen them live
this show is awesome haha i love how jesse looks so pissed when someone knocks his mic out XD
Not sure if anyone remembers ~ There was a kick ass Road Rules music album with Brand New, Thursday, The Used, Deftones, Unwritten Law. My how far MTV has strayed.
Why didn’t Moshi Moshi make it on YFW?
Fucking legendary. Favorite band.
Moshi Moshi is my favourite song of all time, I'd pay ridiculous amounts of money to see this band live.
Best video anywhere of anything
Fantastic upload. Thank you for bringing me back to high school.
This is a treasure. Love it.
I saw them for the first time in '02, Globe East Milwaukee, WI... Drive Thru Showcase w/ Starting Line, Finch, Open Hand and maybe the Benjamins... this was what we did... 350 capacity shows, tour vans, old thompson, the girls had thankfully just started with total waxing of their hoohahs and... fuck that was the shit... good times
maybe it was 2001..
I remember recording their full set on a huge VHS recorder, from the pit. It was in New Jersey, 2002. They played with Showoff, Hot Water Music and Less Than Jake. And that tape is gone. :)
This is truly a treasure... thank you
This is great! Like a time machine.
Gives me goosebumps i wanna go back to early 2000's before facebook and all the bullshit and just go out and have fun and the most amazing times!! I'd swap all social media for a mosh pit and singing down the pub any day of the week!! Dont get me wrong the net is awesome technology but you can't get this feeling or fun from it! Going seeing bands, getting drunk with your best friends, meeting girls, our dress sense was better now everyone is the same. The kids now dont know what they're missing!!
Jude Law is the greatest emo-pop/pop-punk song of all time. So crazy they used to close with it.
This band is just Masterpiece
they must have really loved early Saves the Day. Edit: having liked both these bands during their origination, I gotta say I totally missed the realization Brand New is totally a rehashed Saves the Day lol....
It's really not lol
??? They were both around at the exact same time … both bands were killing it. , I think STD was getting more notice a few years earlier.
@@1Capnjazz Saves the Day started playing together in the mid 90s, but Brand New was really post millenium. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they cited STD as an influence. STD was blowing up for their live shows and they were both in the tri state region. Almost definitely an influence
okay but the talking before seven times seventy fits so well with the song
how great is this.
