You guys said you wanted to know what crimes the death row inmates committed. I read the book a really long time ago, so my memory may be a bit off. Bitterbuck (The Native American) un-alived a man in a bar fight for his shoes, I think. Delacroix (The French Cajun with the mouse) “graped” a woman, un-alived her and then tried to burn her body to cover up the evidence. The fire wound up spreading and killing other people, too. The movie shows you Wild Billy's crimes and John of course was innocent. Hope this helps!

Jon Cofey his initials, JC the same As Jesus Christ . Paul was one of The disciples who was on the Kings Army & had the job to Crucify Jesus. Dale represented the Thief on the Cross next to Jesus, who ended up repenting for his sins. Wild Bill represents The Devil, when he cuts the screen door in the flashback. We get a quick glance of 5 blocks on the floor with the letters “Sat” showing, Of course it is representing Satan. I love breaking this story down because not everyone really connects the dots. ❤

Pet mice can live for about 3 years, a wild mouse rarely lives half that long due to disease and predation so Mr jingles had already exceeded his lifespan by about 40-50 times. The lifespan of a United States male born before 1900 like Paul was lived to about 50 so if his life was extended at the same rate as mr Jingles he is looking at over 2000 years before he will die.

Because he did. John was "dog-tired" walking the earth and was ready to go home to heaven. Like his lawyer said they couldn't find background on John Coffey, "like he fell down from the sky". The I'm in heaven song. Did u notice the projector light behind John's head while he was watching the movie? Like a heavenly crown. John Coffey, Jesus Christ....

Did you notice John Coffeys innitials? JC? That they believed hes an angel? Stephen King (the author) has never confirmed that his character John Coffey is a portrayal of Jesus Christ but when asked, he has simply said that he us Christian. I always thought that was an interesting detail

    1. YOU WILL CRY😭😭
    2. Dabbs Greer/old Paul was ill during production, so his part was done later. He also played Reverend Alden on "Little House on the Prairie".
    3. Hammersmith was not a good lawyer. (most likely a racial thing. It was 1935 South.)
    4. In the book King briefly covers why the Chief and Del are on death row.
    5. This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (MCD) and Best Cast but unfortunately neither won.😭😭
    6. Players in other King adaptations: Jeffery DeMunn: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist,
Storm of the Century and William Sadler: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist. David Morse: The Langoliers. Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part.
    7. Movie magic Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene.
    8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but
was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill.
    9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy. EVERYONE hates him.🤬🤬
    10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge.
    11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clark Duncan. They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller.
12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off.
    13. Now we know what the "day old is fine" dry toast is for.
14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced.
    the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT)🤩
    15. Four words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!

They still kill people like this in your country. Considering how many innocent people are locked up for things that they haven't done, it's pretty awful.

I hated Percy when I read the book. Hated him even more when I eventually watched the movie. Also thought Michael Clarke Duncan deserved an Oscar for his performance in this movie.
