The amount of currency WOW has, makes me crazy.
This xpac is super tame compared to everything since Legion. And currently on par with MoP and WoD if not less currencies.
It’s really not as bad as a lot of other MMOs though tbh. It’s bad and annoying but it’s not BDO type of bad.

I wonder if Microsoft will ask Blizzard in they want to make a single player Warcraft or Starcraft game. These games have excellent character artwork and lore that they can become AAA single player games. If Blizzard doesn't want to do it, Xbox has like 30 other studios that can do it. A Witcher style single player RPG? In the Warcraft world? Could be interesting.

I know it would likely never happen, but I would love to see a survival craft Warcraft game, either set in the Outlands on a bit of the floating bits of the world, or in an alternate Azeroth setting.
Both are RTS series so there are already mostly Single-player driven games. You mean as something like Starcraft: Ghost? If you do then expect MS to mismanage it like Halo and Gears of War.
Those of us who are a bit older were waiting for StarCraft Ghost for years. It didn't happen then, it definitely won't happen bow that monetization games has gotten to this point.
@Kokorisu that's the thing. Xbox doesn't need to monetize every game, they need people on gamepass. If you look at system sellers most of them don't do much microtransactions. God of War, Uncharted, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsuhima, etc.
If Blizzard was still with Bobby it would never happen. They're with Xbox and Xbox makes money off all games on their platform so it's different

you don't want wow to be anything but a sub-locked game, you don't want "every person" playing the game, the niche playerbase created by the sub model helps keeps the right players in the MMORPG. When things go free to play or basically f2p with gamepass, you get flooded with the low-end mmo players who complain about everything and never want to buy anything. Even buy-to-play with no sub goes thru the same thing - i just saw it in new world
Microsoft keep releasing new content for AoE2 even tho the RTS genre being forgotten by other companies and having a niche community. They released the romans now we got the Armenians with new campaigns, other civs etc. Imagine wc3 refunded being fixed by MS and they releasing new races, campaigns etc or WC4 /SC3.
I think it'll happen but it's gonna take time. For now Blizzard is still infected by the Bobby disease.
I would unironically be upgrading my mythic gear with the smallest crest. I have so many of them and they are literally just dead bag space until they become vendorable next patch. I keep saying I wish we could upgrade them to the next tier... like even if it was 10:1, it's better than just being a paperweight

i'll be getting Drakes and Whelps whenever i can, the thought of grinding over 5k Whelping Crests is a bit much, better to also get Drakes where you can while you are working the ranks.

I think that hidden "Slitherdrake mount" from the 12 month bundle is just the Chinese New Year mount for Jan/Feb. It's the year of the Dragon and the element for 2024 is wood.
I hate capped currency. If you want to limit early upgrades cap the amount of currency I can spend and not what I can earn. Also make everything account wide.

Nah, the only thing that can "save" World of Warcraft is some sort of hard reset in regards to the story. Retail these days is working on such a ridiculous level (like fighting actual Titans and stuff) that everything feels either ridiculous or meaningless. Additionally, there are so many systems and sources of information to go through if you are a new player who wants to give the game a chance that most people I know instantly quit again after reaching max lvl. And last but not least, the community is full of so many elitst jerks that without a proper guild/friends, playing the game is insanely unfun and demotivating.
Wipe the plates clean and start fresh, the idea of a new Classic Era Server going like "what would have happened if xyz didnt happen" sounded awesome.
Yeah, there are things that should have not had happen. Going up against Titans was stupid. Mortals would be instant wiped when facing them. They were big as worlds. I could see facing their avatars, but not the real deal.
The Old gods, I could see, seeing how they were all locked up and limited when they were trying to break out of their prison. Also, they were nowhere near as strong as the Titans.
Will reputation ever be account wide? I've always loved the idea but not sure what the cons to it would be.
You can get the key from Doans lockbox, so you might see it on the auction house throughout the whole year not just during hallows end.
I think the lockbox is lootable only once per account?
However you can still farm the keys in Armory - you can get it repeatedly from the last boss Herod, or from the mobs at the end of the dungeon.
@@majdusss possible. I looted it with my DH and afterwards with my shaman (for the scarlet set) the lootbox wasn't there.

I don't know if these crests are good. I felt like gearing in this patch was super fast, hc raid is easy, then very soon I didn't have anything to do. Seems like it will be even faster now?

The scarlet key also comes from the library so the supply is basically unlimited

Someone who doesn't play Retail listening to this video makes my head explode from the convoluted overcomplication of gearing and systems in Retail.
I remember the gearing system was simple. Would have been nice if they just kept one thing instead of keeping it and then taking it away. The badges were a great idea, but then thye deicded not to implement them in the rest of the expansions. Honor system was great, then Gladiator stuff came along, which I did not care for.
Oh, they are definitely just gonna start selling Traders Tender straight from the shop. It's inevitable.
As a wow-player that leave wow after Pandaria (with a 3 Months short revisit in legion), the words "so u have better Controller about ur Tier-drops" sounds so absurdly wrong to me. Isn't the randomness of the Loot the best thing about that whole, Boss-loot-thing?!

I left WOW because it got dumber and dumber. The lore was retconned into oblivion. The talent system was horrible. I left at Legion for sometime, burn out. I came back to BOA, left because it was not that great. Finally come back for Shadows, and decided to just quit because of how horrible it was.
When it comes to Re-Forged they need to get the guy making Re-Re-Forged in on it.

Okay, cool. Whatever. I will be interested only when i read "loot tables added" and "valor and justice tokens added to replace bloated and deprecated currencies that players hate".
Would be nice if WOW would cut some of the RNG fat off the loot drops. I think I have received 2-3 repeats of ilvl 428 gear during the time walking event as I work on a few of my alts. That is extremely disappointing and a waste of my time.
Speaking of alts. It would also be nice if reputation and some achievements were shared account-wide to reduce the grueling drudgery of having to do the same content over and over.
Cataclysm ruined so many quests and areas in the eastern kingdoms especially. Undoing some of that should’ve been a thing years ago.
False, the quests in cataclysm was better and most people who arent blinded by nostalgia has this opinion.
Yea the mmo died. It became like a single player game and dungeons became like a map in a game.
Stop it cataclysms story telling was significantly better then vanilla, hell the new red ridge mountains quest chain was better than all the previous zones combined

@@Chitown18 Yea.. like it expanded upon the just “go kill that and fetch that” which where more than in due time. I like to see more variety. Something that I did find annoying was, there were no sense of impactful world progression.. like the people working on that inn in Westfall was on it for years, and I always wanted to see the world progress in minor ways as time went on, so I really liked what Cataclysm did in that regard. And I think it is something that should be done waay more frequent, because you pay a monthly sub for a single game plus expansions. You should demand high quality.
What Cataclysm did unfortunately was to nail the coffin of what started at the end of WOTLK (when Blizzard and Activision merged), and that was the looking for raid button and the multiple dungeon difficulties. It changed wow to feel a living breathing world, where you went from zero to hero, to a more or less single player game where you’re the special one. The other players are just like extras in a movie.
It’s like you’re no longer participating in a huge fairytale/fantasy realm where you get immersed, you play like a regular game with yourself, except you pay a monthly fee for it.
I dont think its any question at this point. From the moment they released the roadmap with up to 10.2 and not 10.3, it was obvious that 10.3 was not going to be a thing
10.3 would be on the 2024 roadmap, not 2023.

@@gipsydanger5020 They never said we're getting 10.3, they said the 2023 road map wouldn't have shown 2024 content, which would include any hypothetical 10.3, thus saying "it was obvious 10.3 wouldn't be a thing" because the 2023 road map didn't mention it is a stretch.
Crests for each crafted piece hasn't been increased from live servers. It is currently 60 crests for crafted gear.
If microsoft makes wow included in games pass ultimate sub it def would help them save wow

I doubt it’ll ever be just included with the base gamepass, I think it’s more likely they have a version that costs like $5 more which includes the WoW sub.
Blizzard said that they’re going free to play which includes a premium battle pass or whatsoever

Reforged is screwed. Sure if you play online/competitive it's probably ok.
But the main story which personally I like to play through and was the whole reason I bought the game is unplayable.
Multiple levels just crash the game, making the main campaign impossible to complete.

I don't know. I think they will probably give more story and stuff to do, but they will keep the cash shop and stuff that Activision Blizzard has already put in.

I haven't played WoW since Shadowlands, but I have to say, one change that I never liked was the removal of keys and other attunements. This was a natural progression that I really liked and missed in later content.
But I also have to admit, that Blizzard would have needed to put some thought into how to make that system work with all the changes and the pure quantity in WoW.
You do it once and then forget about it. Its not really needed.

3:53 It will be interesting if XBox does do an across the board release of retreads with ROIs that didn't make the cut at Activision. XBox needs more games (software) to make up for the disadvantage in consoles (hardware) compared to PS. But the higher cost of capital in tech raises hurdle rates and Microsoft isn't immune to that.
The crest upgrades are good for pvpers. Outlaws bis weps are crafted, now I don't gotta do m16s to get bis weps.

You can get the key after the event is over as long as somebody else has the key they can pick one up from inside the library.

One way I can see WoW be saved is removing the subscription. Just like Destiny, we already have to pay for DLC if we want to do the current content and if we don't, we don't even get to play that content and that is scummy in every sense. Either that or make dlc part of the subscription so it's either a 1 time purchase of the dlc for a full paid account or pay the subscription and not have to worry about buying the dlc while being drained of money at the same time.
I highly doubt that since Gamepass would become the next subscription at that point. No matter what a cost will be attached, which most likely a greater cost will be the outcome.
If they do "buy once, play forever" like GW2, they're also gonna have a massive cash shop like GW2 and I don't really want cosmetics that can be earned in-game to suffer more for the sake of paid cosmetics.
@@chris9206 reason why I say that is because I was trying to get into WoW and I bought Shadowlands so I could do the newest stuff. What the game didn't tell me is that even if I bought the dlc, my account would be stuck in free to play mode meaning I am locked out of what I paid for unless I pay more. That is a major dick move.
On top of that, when my subscription ended, I lost access to my high level Demon Hunter, so I can't do anything with him. They already charge for character transfers, faction changes, level boost, and cosmetics, but you don't get any of it unless you pay the subscription for the rest of your life.
@@hummingbirdcity If those were to suffer because of the game not having the subscription, that is on the devs or whatever. They already have way too much monitization at this point from server transfers, faction changes, level boosts, name changes, race changes, mounts, and guild services that them making new cosmetics unobtainable through gameplay and instead only from the shop would just make people hate them more.
All i care is the redesign the stats system. Bring back Healing power or Healing done and spell dmg, attack power, defense power etc,
I want them to bring back healin bandages. I used that as a Rogue to heal up because when facing warriors, paladins and other hard armors; I needed a quick heal to get back into battle.

a little bit, go to SW/Undercity and one of the holiday NPC will have a quest called "A Ghostly Message" you can see the Headless Horseman get forced into riding again, it's not really a chain by any means, but it's some new quests.
since blizz doesn't care about rare stuff anymore (giving it away in prime promotions and the battlepass)
just delete WoW, Make WoW2 with housing and a vitrine with all the stuff you achieved.
Don't forget guild halls or bases. It would be nice to have those as well.
I say just remake WOW, starting from the beginning. Then just make Vanilla, BC and FT as they were, but add more stuff to make it interesting and keep people. Then redo every other expansion, removing Shadowlands as part of the saga.
Also, get rid of borrowed power. That was stupid and horrible.

Sorry but I’m still good with crests not being able to be traded between characters. I don’t want to be in an M+ key with someone who is iLvl appropriate but hasn’t figured out how to play the class yet, or how to play that class in that dungeon yet. I’m all for some type of alt acceleration but not a free pass into 10-15+ keys.
I suspect that eventually mythics will be phased out as you know them now.

Absolutely agreed to this. I want them to go back all the way to Vanilla and just keep BC and Frozen Throne. They can expand the base and two expansions by adding more quests and such. Then make better expansions after Frozen Throne.
I want all the classic dungeons rolled into retail. And all on a permanent rotation with a few vetoes for the players.

The key is farmable from the chest in the library BTW toesnt need to be HE
once per account, the chest wont be there after you loot it.

My "modern Blizzard frustration" is that in Overwatch, they issue permabans based on the quantity of reports and not on the validity of reports. Overwatch players are just as obnoxious as the game is itself. They report everyone for anything. You died? Report. You went afk for two seconds to sneeze? Report. They don't like your skin? Report.
My account was permabanned for APPARENT chat violations. Their "proof" was a blank window. When I asked them to review it, they immediately refused. Good work Blizzard :)
Wow, that adds another reason onwhy I never want to play Overwatch. You have no campaign, only pvp. The second is the skins, you have to buy only. The third is the permabans.

To save WoW they would have to remove all monetization from the game and all possibility of buying progress using real money. But that's not going to happen because WoW deteriorated too far and what's more important players demoralized too far into lack of understanding what real gaming is about.
Its impossible to make a mmorpg where progression cant be bought with money.

The look of reforged is amazing but unfinished. War3 reforged can be amazing but only if done right and finish what should have been. It's 2024 making something more realistic similar to how diablo graphics is very good. My personal opinion :)
I was thinking about issues with WoW and I might do a video on this: I think one of my biggest issues why WoW feels so dramatically different since vanilla is the world on Vanilla felt so big. There was no flying, the land masses were huge and travel was a time sink. Now we get expansions where the land mass is smaller than original WoW but you are traveling 3x-9x as fast through them. Dragonflight isn't a tiny location by any means, but since you could straight up fly through it from pretty much the get go it felt so small.
