I subscribe to the idea that Sargaras was aiming for a secret titan facility with his sword but missed. At the end of legion he was taking his time searching for something; if it were obvious where his target is he would've taken action soon after arriving on azeroth. When we found him he wasn't done figuring out the exact location so while being whisked away he stabbed the area of his best guess as a desperate last ditch. It probably didn't help that the sundering shifted the landscape.

Not like the Sundering would have actually mattered, as he never even visited Azeroth in his true form ever before. The problem with Sargeras is that he was absent from the entire Legion expansion, up until the very last part, that the writers never actually wrote. There was a reason why we didn't know what he was doing, because the writers didn't know it either :D

In the Chromie-Quest when we go back to the Black Empire, N'zoth basically told us the premise of the War Within: "You will follow him to the deep places. The dark waters will flow in his wake." and "With many eyes they will see again. They will drink and be uplifted." - An expansion underground and Nerubians. What is interesting for me is that he (yet again) had quite precise whispers about events after his death. Which means, he could have easily prevented it. And he did not even know about the Harbinger, he included her in his plans.
I would not be surprised to find a certain dagger whispering to me about how I definitely should have killed Sylvanas when I had the chance, is all I'm saying, really.

A sickness born from within..."
On the PTR, one could see her corpse next to her tower, but it was removed before it hit live, with no explaination. And then, in 7.3.5. PTR she could be found alive again. I can't help but feel like we've not seen the last of her. She was there during the War of the Shifting Sands, so perhaps she knows something about Xal'atath that we don't?

I really hope blizz think this through very very carefully before implementing a jailor 2.0 crap. @@bastalam The entirety of BFA/SL/DF are like an entire Unreliable Narrator Saga. None of them make sense, and none of them connect to the actual warcraft lore.
Arcane magic exists everywhere, including in Azeroth, and the Titans don't need to bring it here. There is no ridiculous "showing up and making her be arcane" going on. All titans can use multiple kinds of magic. Including nature and holy and arcane and fire and water and lightning yada yada yada. None of them were ever requiring people turn into arcane elementals or anything. They specifically put systems in place to defend life and make life flourish. The existence of the stone and metal constructs was not the goal of their ordering...... it was literally a plan B because they needed a force that could resist the whispers of old gods while they locked them away; and yes, they needed to be locked away because of the fact we all know about what happens if you just rip one out.
We need to go back to what the original lore was; namely that Titans were trying to find more of their own kind and weren't entirely sure how it happened. Aman'thul may have been of the opinion that titans were just some rare default in the universe because of the clash of light and void so that all he needed to find more world souls was to keep looking. Eonar may have been of the opinion that titans were the result of there being enough life and complex life on a world to mysteriously magically manifest a world soul so that all she needed to do was grow as much complex life as she could on every world they found hoping that complexity would make a titan. Whereas Norgannon may have been of the opinion that some previous civilization had been responsible for the existence of magic and that the magic was what created world souls and allowed them to be titans so if he wanted more titan friends he would have to create and defend and empower as many mortal civilizations on every planet they found....hoping one of those civilizations would understand magic well enough to manifest a new titan. They could have all had such different opinions.....but still work together looking for new planets and ordering them to have life and civilizations and magic that flourishes because none of them is entirely sure which method is the correct one for finding more titans, if any.

Its the same old cliche that writers use as in they create a lore and they add characters and events together to put together an intricate web that they can reference back and forth as they add more things....due this the right way and you`ll have and endless evolving story....

Just going to throw something out there which turns this all on its head.
If Azeroth is Creation or the Maker (Mother), snd Argus is the Unmaker wouldn't they essentially the opposing force that keeps each of them in check? Life - Death, Order - Disorder, and Light - Shadow (Void) each has an opposing force that is directly designed to be the counter to the other in essence to form a means for Cosmic Balance.
So Azeroth and Argus actually have a connection they need each other or more importantly they need contact with each other as they essentially are the means by which they can be restored or cleansed of any external tampering. For example lets say Azeroth is corrupted by a mix of Void(Shadow) and Arcane (Order), then Argus provided he was in her proximity been able to Unmake/Purge/Cleanse Azeroth and return her back to her original state.
However, the Titan Pantheon has tampered with this natural order to ensure that they 'Order' everything, and the key thing to note about the Titan Pantheon is that they refuse to accept Death all their Titanforged were created to never die. The 'Curse of Flesh' might have caused some issues but they isolated Decay which links with Death, i.e Decay is the opposite of Spirit (Life & Death). Instead the Shadowlands is a realm which clearly isn't a construct of Decay instead it is clearly a construct of Spirit hence the reason for the whole Anima aspect of Shadowland Anima = Spirit and if Spirit is connected with Life, then Anima is logically connected with Life and not Death. This is the means by which the Titan Pantheon Ordered Azeroth to isolate and remove Death and Decay as they are outliers for their perfect ordering of Azeroth. Clearly they are unable to prevent Death and Decay from leaking through and causing issues in various locations; for example the Drust are most definitely an incursion of actual Decay and Death on to the Titans Ordered Design.
Now that you understand the correlation between Azeroth and Argus consider the fact that the Titans understood the connection between these two so new they had to separate them making it so they are far enough apart that they are unable to cleanse each other. So the do two things they push Argus out into the Twisting Nether while they additionally cloak Azeroth in a Shroud which cloaks and obscures Azeroth and with Argus floating within the Twisting Nether clearly they would be lost having no idea where Argus is it would try to reach out for Azeroth. If Azeroth wasn't shrouded it is possible the Argus might be able to perceive Azeroth's location and return to her however, as she is cloaked he is unable to find her so he finds himself wandering aimlessly through the twisting nether mourning the loss of his connection with Azeroth. (Go back and listen/read the whole Alleria dialogue where she talks about the lost World Soul and the feelings she gets from it...that's Argus...)
Hopefully this is all making sense but here is the part that might blow peoples minds...so if you take the Tauren story of creation with the Earth Mother it's clearly a reimagining of Azeroth. However, in that story there is the addition of two other entities M'usha and A'nshe these are essentially the Moon (M'usha) and the Sun (A'nshe). Now if we understand that the concept of the Moon of Azeroth is actually Elune then clearly she is M'usha. The problem is with A'nshe as the entity is lost or missing and there is no information about what happened to him, the Sun that Azeroth has currently is something that is made by the Titan Pantheon to form as a quazi replacement that clearly lacks the actual power that A'nshe would have had.
So what happened with A'nshe? Azeroth clearly shares a bond or strong connection with Elune the two are entwined if you like however, A'nshe isn't like Azeroth his energy in bodies cleansing through the fires of creation which in turn clearly is a link with Unmaking. So A'nshe shares a bond or strong connection with Argus meaning that these two are entwined, this means that A'nshe would have followed or might have been pulled out in to the twisting nether through is connection to Argus. This is why A'nshe is lost from Azeroth iit was pulled away to the twisting nether with Argus.
SO WHO IS A'NSHE? An'she is clearly SARGAROS who was originally controlled (Dominated) by the Titan Pantheon. However, through his time in the twisting nether and the affect that Argus has in terms of being there as well Sargaros overtime he frees himself from the domination and returns to an aspect of his true former self....the FLAMING TITAN (I.E. THE SUN TITAN). However, he clearly also has been impacted by his time in the Twisting Nether as his mind can't be fully restored i.e the MADNESS he clearly knows that he has some kind of special connection with Argus and Azeroth but, is unable to fully understand why? In essence A'nshe is gone lost to the Twisting Nether and Madness it's this that creates the entity that we know as Sargaros the Dark Titan now.
Okay so if you understand all of that then what was the reason that Sargaros stabbed his sword in to Azeroth? we know that his sword is something like a mourneblade which is a weapon that is capable of splitting souls. When a mourneblade is used to kill someone it splits their soul and takes part of that soul in to the blade as form of empowerment or feeding if you like of the entity that is imprisoned within the weapon (it's intelligence). The other part of the soul travels to it's usual location but it is not complete it is missing part of itself so it clearly would be suffering. So what happened when Sargaros cleaved Argus? His Sword would have absorbed part of Argus's essence into itself while the rest would have been the fractured remains of his essence. This is why Argus was suffering at the hands of the Titan Pantheon the essence they had captured and imprisoned was a fractured part of Argus that was already suffering greatly due to the Soul Splitting.
So now that we know that Sargaros's sword clearly had part of Argus's essence that it absorbed. What if Sargaros is actually stabbing Azeroth aiming for the Chamber of the Heart specifically while using his control over his sword to release the trapped partial essence of Argus into Azeroth.
Think about it... SARGAROS IS GIVING AZEROTH A PART OF ARGUS SO THAT SHE CAN BE CLEANSED... remove the cosmic taint that has been imposed on her by the Titan Pantheon and the Old Gods...while I don't think it is enough to fully cleanse Azeroth it is clearly enough to awaken her and bring her back from her ordered slumber, everything changes with the Sword...it's the catalyst that awakens her etc. so SARGAROS is on our side in a way but, his nature is that of purging creation through fire etc... this is why he originally was against life on Azeroth is was an aspect of his fiery cleansing.
Just something to throw out there that might make many people rethink everything....and gives meaning to why the Titan Pantheon who wants to eradicate the concept of Decay and Death as for them it is all about Life and only Life. This is why they manipulated the players in to killing Argus in Antorus they needed the players to help them to remove the aspect of Unmaking which has some connection with Death clearly so that it won't be an issue they needed to deal with any longer. However, they were unaware that Sargaros still had a part of Argus in his sword; the Titan Pantheon assumed that when we killed Argus it would have prevented any possible link to Azeroth that might have restored her undoing their ordered control over the Azeroth but there was a part of Argus left behind that they weren't aware of.

You get that runes are simply a method to attach some kind of magic (any kind of magic, not just domination) to an object.
Here is some example, that literally have nothing to do with Order, Titan or Domination magic.
The runes on the orc blademaster's weapons, the runes in Shadowmoon burial grounds in alternate draenor, the runes on the Black Empire obelisk in the Assaults, the warding rune created by blackamithers, we used fel runes to help Rittsyn Flamescowl in Legion.
So the whole point for Runes to be a prove of Domination/Order magic doesn't exist.
The runes on sargeras armour are fel runes, or maybe Glyphs, they really look alike.
In addition look at season of discovery: the runes are the way to learn new spells/ability for every race regardless of the element/school of magic.

Has it ever occurred to you that Algalon did not describe any events conducted by the Titans of the pantheon? He said he saw many planets "bathed in the maker's flames" and their lives ended. That's not what the reorigination device does, nor have we ever seen any evidence that it ever happened anywhere. Aggramar did not burn or reoriginate Draenor. Aman'thul never burned or reoriginated Azeroth. Are you entirely sure Algalon wasn't referring to Sargeras in the planets bathed in flame that he saw? Sargeras is the only being we know that has bathed multiple worlds in flames to end all life on them. How do you know that Sargeras wasn't ordering Algalon to burn thousands of worlds.... or doing it himself and having Algalon be an unwitting observer to such events?

Don’t think that is what OP meant. I took it more as the Titans not being good or bad. They are simply looking for other titans and are not overly worried about the ramifications of what that means. DF paints them more as sinister players actively attempting to cause harm for reasons other than searching for other titans. I found them to be better characters as aloof and agnostic to the plight of living things aside from their necessity in bringing other titans to come out. Having them be malignant on the same level as void lords just seems to be for no reason other than having a twist. I was fine with them just being callous.

@@NOLA-vv3sz They weren't even callous, at all. They just seemed to be mysteriously absent during vanilla/bc/wrath/cata ......and then in MoP they finally had Metzen give a reason why they were absent. Being presumed dead is a pretty good explanation for the absence.

@@NOLA-vv3szexactly. Hearing Iridikron say the Titans "poisoned" azeroth and having the ice dragon girl-boss all over Odyn is just cringe and stupid. Yes the Titans aren't good that has never been in question they always had some hidden motive since WOTLK it should have just been kept at "They order worlds so they can create more titans if those worlds become disorderly they purge them with Ulduar's system." That was fine DF constantly saying "Titans le bad maybe?" Just feels spiteful at this point like the team is upset no one has enjoyed the direction they took things with SL so now instead of creating a new story they are just tearing down the old one.

What if the old gods ARE Azeroth, the void side of her that is.
