Meaning air strike doesn't hit 8's immediately; it gets stronger as you unlock the higher hitting spells until you reach fire strike, at which point they all hit 8. hi, i enjoyed the video and info in it, but i think you misunderstood how the dmg rolls work now. it was supposed to be 0-11 --> 1-10 but they made updated it to instead of rolling 0 you roll a 1. so in case you have max hit of 5, previously after passing accuracy check you would hit one of these numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5 where as now its 1,1,2,3,4,5 which makes it very impactful at low lvls, but doesnt change much at later stages of the game
I remember panicking the whole time that the changes to magic damage would make it too hard to kill Whisperer since it wasn't getting an elemental weakness and I didn't have BIS gear. Turns out at the end of the day I lose *0.5% damage* , not even sure that's a max hit.
Honestly i'm so happy to see well thought out changes to breathe some new life into the game. It's so easy to mess up yet because they actually listened to the community it all turned out really well! It's a good day to be a scaper~

Ive been testing barrows runs with the chaos gauntlets, it is definitely a good early/cheap build, I was still keeping up with toxic trident in damage with mystic/occult/imbue god cape

Every video I see on air being the same str as fire now on all levels has completely left out fire surge and wind surge is it the same for surge spells?
The changes to kephri (fire) and Baba (ranged heavy) dont really make a difference to the meta for toa. This update was great, but it feels like it's only part 1 of a more global introduction of type weaknesses
You mentionned kalphites as being vulnerable to fire spells, but unfortunately that isn't the case. For some reason KQ and her brood all have no fire weaknesses.
The minimum hit thing reducing your "max hit" is ridiculous though. I see why, to keep damage the same while making accuracy make more sense. But it makes max hit make less sense. If they kept max hits the same, and had the nee min hit of 1, it would be trivially different.
The graphic at 12:28 implies that max hits have been reduced by 1 to compensate for the minimum hit adjustment, but that's not what happened. They just changed every 0 hit roll to a 1...
Mole being weak to water makes absolutely no sense. Moles live in wet moist environments on top of that they can swim. Not a scientist but if you can swim I don't think you're weak to water 😂
Kinda blows my mind that they went with metal dragons being weak to earth instead of fire lol. Feel like earth spells should be powerful against ghosts/spiritual creatures
