at first i didnt liked the fact that we got a new region but the same amount of choices, but after thinking more, it will make so we have a bigger variety of choices, last leagues every fighting style had its own meta picks, but now with this and combat masteries, I feel this will be something way more personal
This is my 1st league. I'll partake in. A day 1 guide would be cool so I could get a better grasp on what i should be looking out for, etc. Kinda dont know what's going on except better drop rates and higher xp rates, and i just learned it's basically ironman mode so no ge.
That, or we could get Twisted Leagues v2 on the newly expanded continent of Zeah for Leagues 6. It'll also have all of Varlamore, instead of only parts 1 & 2.
I love Varlamore so I know im choosing the region for sure. So many solid training methods that will only be faster with the bonus xp and whatever relics we got access too.

I’ll admit, this time around I’m very excited about Leagues. Usually, I’ve been pretty casual, with a melee build and safe region choices. Going Mage this time for sure, and taking Desert for the first time, largely because I really wish I’d had GOTR last year. I’ve never got a pet drop during Leagues … so a video suggestion: which pets are the easiest to get during leagues.
I messed up my unlocks last league and lost all will to continue. This league I’m locking in as a ranger and doing either Varlamore/Asgarnia/Desert, or Kourend/Fremennik/Desert. These are super early plans and will probably change once relics and the special echo drops get revealed. It’s pretty funny that, right now, my bis melee armor for Ko/F/D is obsidian chest and legs with rune boots.
I'm so hyped for this leagues, I'm always late, the other leagues have happened during my RuneScape breaks, so this time I have a chance to play it the announcement happened just before I decided to take another long break lol
shout out for valemore unlocks tohugh, it has a stonecutter! you can get max poh with it so fairys flight stocks would go up :) also it has some really really really good early pickpocketing with wealthy citizens that would make any sort of tricker stuff OP without kandarin
They should allow all regions with a higher scaling of completes task for the last few unlocks would greatly extend players goals to grind for it typically dies off when most players hit rune or dragon tier in points.
I played the previous leagues and i wanted to make a skiller run. I messed up sadly as i forgot how useful the dessert area actually is. This season i will unlock dessert , wilderness and kourend as they gave the biggest variety of ways to level up. Also best unlocks in my opinion. Kourend was bringing last season but they removed the favour so be more fun i hope
Defender of Varrock sounds like a bonus, but unless you do a shitload of quests outside mistltain your not getting it, you need, desert for family crest, morytania for creature of fenkenstrain and ardougne for temple of ikov. Thats already all 3 of your choices blasted away. So unless those were already your choices, your SOL. I understand leagues will probably have quest skip stuff, but by that time who cares about the axe.
As a wilderness enjoyer, I am excited for the agility and thieving buffs to the region. My only wish is that they would make revenant weapons viable in all regions, not only the wilderness. I think that change alone would really increase the wilderness pick rate.
This will be my first ever leagues and one thing that intrigues me about varlamore is the thieving wealthy citizens. With the accelerated XP gains and the distraction from children guaranteeing success itd probably great blitz training for minimal risk instead of having to blackjack in the desert
It's significantly lower xp/h (and gp I think), but waaaay more chill. It's borderline afk, possibly the longest xp gain/input method in the game right now for thieving.

So with the wilderness i am curious, will they still require medium dairies for zombie pirates? currently without the diaries zombie pirates only have a 15% chance to hit their drop table, which makes them not really doable without the diary, but the med wildy diary can't be done without the fremmy region, so I wonder if there will be a work around for that.
All I wish for is to leave the league servers up for a little longer. I get that you don't want them up for too long for leaderboard purposes. But just leave them on for an extra month without leaderboards so we could mess around with some builds you wouldn't try while trying to sweat it out for the leaderboards.
Right now I'm looking to do Mage with Fremmi/Wildy/Asgarnia. Going to run God Capes and Staffs with Seers Ring and Malediction Ward/Arcane. Don't get augury or Shadow, but the training methods are just so godly with this trio. Wilderness agility, thieving, slayer and prayer with Vork bones, Keldagrim construction hopefully with Fire Sale, blast furnace, crafting with lunars. And for combat you get GWD, Wildy bosses and an already confirmed echo variant in the Dag Kings, if echos end up being raid tier challenges I'm not going to feel bad about skipping the raid regions.
Scritic, I’ve just started some planning for leagues and I just had a thought. With the advent of being able to pull any of the mega rares from any raid, what does that mean for the scythe? Tbow just needs arrows. Shadow can get charges from runes. Vials of blood? Does that mean we will still need Mory at the moment?

My main advice for people that want to get dragon tier this year is to go through the task list for last leagues. You can see the percent completion rate for those tasks. Pick your regions based on which tasks you think you will actually do. Less than 5% of people who picked desert did 50 TOA completions. 250 TOA completions as a task was done by virtually no one and really locks out your point totals. Scritic, I would really like to see your in depth region videos go over some of those task completion rates to judge the difficulty of tasks in that region.
Project Zanaris! Won't be available this Nov ofc, however "maingame/GIM OsRs but faster/more OP" is exactly what easily accessible private servers can provide. And it won't be limited to a less than 2 month period, once every 1-2 years.
With the wilderness being the LEAST PICKED REGION in 2 leagues i hope they just give everyone the wildy and make it pvp enabled with drops from players (on toggle like old old runescape)

Honestly I am playing leagues to just have fun playing games again, Runescape is a grindy game, but with leagues, even though I didn't make it far last league, I still had a ton of fun with side objectives and just doing stuff I dont normally get to do because I work all the time.
You forgot about Wilderness agility course, if they introduce trickster relic you will never be able to fail obstacle and lose your streak, which means you will have a lot of alchables, good food and prayer potions in early game
Wilderness just continues to be a better "support" region for money, supplies, mid-game weapons, etc. I am very slightly tempted to pick it for Leagues 5, solely due to PK-ing resulting in only a PvM death ofc.
No boss having an Earth Elemental weakness made me lol, realistically they need to give The Great Olm a 40% weakness to Earth now because it heavily nerfed the Harmonized Staff during the magic rebalance, prior it was better then the Sang staff now it useless! this plus the new Dragon-hunter wand/Tome of Earth release next week make it a perfect boss to be weak to Earth.
If we are still locked to 3 choices, i think i'll just do DZM I enjoyed learning toa in leagues 4, but only toa got boring, so now i wanna learn tob and cox too Is it optimal? Idk and idc. I'll be good for me outside of leagues

Theoretically, that will always be the case unless they change how rounding will work. 5 tick always got rounded down to 2 ticks, the exact same as any 4 tick weapon, so dps will always be higher
@@deviouschimp4663 It wasn't the case in Trailblazer 1 because they rounded up instead of down. And it wasn't the case in Shattered Relics because there wasn't an attack speed increase. It's literally only Leagues 4, and there's no particular reason they have to make it the same for this League. Personally, I'm hoping they come up with a complicated solution that still lets us have our OP attack speed we all love, such as giving weapons whose attack speed gets rounded unfavorably a dmg buff per hit equal to the relative lost dps.
@@davidlovesyeshua Oh I didn't know they had rounded up before. Or instead of altering attack speed, offer varying effects that apply to attacks under a specific style. Like melee having a combo mechanic, where successive hits receive increasing damage multipliers until you miss and reset. Or range having a chance for a powerful venom that can stack or be refreshed for passive yet scaling dps. Or Mage going insano style by introducing unique spell modifiers based on the runes used! Like fire runes adding a burn effect to any spell, blood runes adding a health siphon effect, death runes adding a chance for a critical hit, or wrath runes just outright increasing damage. A unique effect for every rune, making all of the spellbooks fun to explore for their synergies.
Why are people so set that varlamore is its own region? The official leagues video only showed 1 lock centered on Kourend and Varlamore. That's no accident
Because in the blog post they list Kourend & Kebos as a separate unlockable region from Varlamore. They would have only listed the 1 region of Zeah if they were combined. Also it's been confirmed sparately by JMods. Also also, all of Zeah for 1 region unlock would be gratuitously OP in terms of available content/unlocks, and it would have like 90% pick rate across the playerbase. Also also also, balancing the task list would be a nightmare, you'd practically have to downgrade every task's points (medium --> easy, hard --> med, etc), and trying to get the total region points to within 10% of the other regions would mean most of the points would take at least twice as long (so it'd actually be a skip for most competitive players like Dragon Cup chasers).
Is there any real reason to play leagues?? Since its a iron man esque and offers zero rewards to main game. Its like 100k/hour at best...but for average player its closet to 1-10k/hour
Best reason to play any game: its insane amount of fun. Gives me a deeper appreciation for the game because it encourages you to look at parts of the game you never have
Personally, it's the most fun i've ever had while playing OSRS. The build up, theorycrafting, experimenting with different account builds and seeing/experiencing things you will never be able to do in the main game is enough of an incentive for me. I know that won't capture everyone's attention though. Nothing to lose from giving it a try for on day1 and seeing how you go :)

Less than 5% of people who picked desert did 50 TOA completions. 250 TOA completions as a task was done by virtually no one and really locks out your point totals.
Scritic, I would really like to see your in depth region videos go over some of those task completion rates to judge the difficulty of tasks in that region.

Only thing I want from Leagues is GIM. A lot of my friends would be down to play if OSRS had the accelerated XP rates and combat buffs.

Won't be available this Nov ofc, however "maingame/GIM OsRs but faster/more OP" is exactly what easily accessible private servers can provide. And it won't be limited to a less than 2 month period, once every 1-2 years.
With the wilderness being the LEAST PICKED REGION in 2 leagues i hope they just give everyone the wildy and make it pvp enabled with drops from players (on toggle like old old runescape)

Honestly I am playing leagues to just have fun playing games again, Runescape is a grindy game, but with leagues, even though I didn't make it far last league, I still had a ton of fun with side objectives and just doing stuff I dont normally get to do because I work all the time.
This might be the first leagues I miss because Brighter Shores will be out :( :)

You forgot about Wilderness agility course, if they introduce trickster relic you will never be able to fail obstacle and lose your streak, which means you will have a lot of alchables, good food and prayer potions in early game
Wilderness just continues to be a better "support" region for money, supplies, mid-game weapons, etc. I am very slightly tempted to pick it for Leagues 5, solely due to PK-ing resulting in only a PvM death ofc.
sadly wilderness has no real changes as it was always the money region anyway. hopefully we get world boss in leagues.

No boss having an Earth Elemental weakness made me lol, realistically they need to give The Great Olm a 40% weakness to Earth now because it heavily nerfed the Harmonized Staff during the magic rebalance, prior it was better then the Sang staff now it useless! this plus the new Dragon-hunter wand/Tome of Earth release next week make it a perfect boss to be weak to Earth.

This league sure has another topping, but let's be fair it's basically a third Trailblazer. Can't imagine everyone likes this repeating event. I surely do not. The first three Leagues were amazing, to bad we are stuck with this copy paste style. It shows Jagex has no time for this major event anymore.
I think locking areas forces players to pay to make alts if they want a different experience and in a way makes leagues a cash grab. 😊

Has it already been confirmed that 5 tick weapons will reign supreme again?
Theoretically, that will always be the case unless they change how rounding will work. 5 tick always got rounded down to 2 ticks, the exact same as any 4 tick weapon, so dps will always be higher
@@deviouschimp4663 It wasn't the case in Trailblazer 1 because they rounded up instead of down. And it wasn't the case in Shattered Relics because there wasn't an attack speed increase. It's literally only Leagues 4, and there's no particular reason they have to make it the same for this League.
Personally, I'm hoping they come up with a complicated solution that still lets us have our OP attack speed we all love, such as giving weapons whose attack speed gets rounded unfavorably a dmg buff per hit equal to the relative lost dps.
@@davidlovesyeshua Oh I didn't know they had rounded up before. Or instead of altering attack speed, offer varying effects that apply to attacks under a specific style.
Like melee having a combo mechanic, where successive hits receive increasing damage multipliers until you miss and reset.
Or range having a chance for a powerful venom that can stack or be refreshed for passive yet scaling dps.
Or Mage going insano style by introducing unique spell modifiers based on the runes used!
Like fire runes adding a burn effect to any spell, blood runes adding a health siphon effect, death runes adding a chance for a critical hit, or wrath runes just outright increasing damage. A unique effect for every rune, making all of the spellbooks fun to explore for their synergies.

Why are people so set that varlamore is its own region? The official leagues video only showed 1 lock centered on Kourend and Varlamore. That's no accident
Because in the blog post they list Kourend & Kebos as a separate unlockable region from Varlamore. They would have only listed the 1 region of Zeah if they were combined. Also it's been confirmed sparately by JMods.
Also also, all of Zeah for 1 region unlock would be gratuitously OP in terms of available content/unlocks, and it would have like 90% pick rate across the playerbase. Also also also, balancing the task list would be a nightmare, you'd practically have to downgrade every task's points (medium --> easy, hard --> med, etc), and trying to get the total region points to within 10% of the other regions would mean most of the points would take at least twice as long (so it'd actually be a skip for most competitive players like Dragon Cup chasers).

Huey is weak to earth spells.
Is there any real reason to play leagues?? Since its a iron man esque and offers zero rewards to main game. Its like 100k/hour at best...but for average player its closet to 1-10k/hour

Best reason to play any game: its insane amount of fun. Gives me a deeper appreciation for the game because it encourages you to look at parts of the game you never have
Personally, it's the most fun i've ever had while playing OSRS. The build up, theorycrafting, experimenting with different account builds and seeing/experiencing things you will never be able to do in the main game is enough of an incentive for me. I know that won't capture everyone's attention though. Nothing to lose from giving it a try for on day1 and seeing how you go :)
