Damn it Mike, was going to name my new company "Joe Momma Power Wash of Florida". Look forward to your next season contents, love yours and Joe's channels.
I’m from Ohio as well. I have to go back for a second time today to finish some awnings. I wasn’t happy with how they turned out. Thanks for the video and thanks for the tips
I’ve heard of awnings that have cotton thread. That would not be good. I’ve never ran in to any, as far as I know. I ask, but they usually have no idea… and I’m not sure how to tell.
Mike I need your help!!!!! What do you use to clean a blue vinyl awning with that has something like a black soot on it? I tried 2%sh and light pressure all the way up to 6% and medium pressure nothing works but if I rub my finger across it , it comes off PLEASE HELP !!!!! I TOOK on a job That I thought would be a easy day spent 7 hours trying everything to get it off & it still looks dirty in spots seems like a wet rag and soap worked the best, I have to go back next Saturday and try again not looking forward to spending another day or 2 to do this when I quoted it as a 4 hour job PLEASE PLEASE help me or anyone!!!!!
@@TheFreshRinse no worries, I'm thinking try a degreeser and that the black soot is from car exhaust since it's right off of a highway. Do you think degreeser is a good idea?
Is the sodium hydrocloryde a worry around that tree? Im thinkin of giving this a go and would consider doing this as a business if i had a clue... im in north lanarkshire
Hello from MN! What have you used in the past to remove the brownish/tan grime that forms on vinyl siding? It seems like its electrostatically bonded to siding and SH will not remove it. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any info, Gary.
Hey Mike what material was that awning made of vinyl or canvas material? I'm always afraid of the sh kind of bleaching it up but vinyl usually you won't have a problem with that.
Lake County Ohio I pressure wash and clean windows and am having trouble with cloth awenings that have over an inch of green algae The customer seems to think that they should be like bran new. I am just an employee.
Thank you for washing. Cloth awnings are tough. In fact, all awnings are tough. To be honest, this type of work should be left to professionals. If pressure washing isn’t your career, it would be best (if possible) to call on the professionals. Im sure you are doing the best you can.
I clean windows and pressure wash for a living, these awnings are black . About 98% of the algae is gone but some tiny white specs that show up every time they dry. The customer seems to think that they should be as good as the day he bought them grrrrr. My method is just like yours, same detergent, the algae in the awning material turned white. Actually, it's black canvas I think they look great . Compared to what they looked like before I washed them. Been back twice .

Great question. I’ve never heard of anyone using vinegar.

Hey Mike, all the way from MN. Another knowledge filled entertaining video.
Thank you my friend!!!!
What material is the awning made of? Was there concern the chemical could've damaged the colors?
Vinyl. No, not with vinyl. Thank you for your question. A great one!

Sodium Hypochlorite.
It can kill plant-life. Always pre-wet very well.
watching your vidio s from bedford hills new york westchester county 40 miles north of groung O
Do you use SH on all awnings or do you use something different on cloth awnings. Thank you.
I’ve only washed a few awnings. All vinyl.
Love the Video Mike!!! Do you use Sh in all awnings (expensive and Cheap)? or you can use a different chemical. Writing you from Greece!
I don’t wash a ton. But yes.
Great video, What brush did you use to agitate the algae?
Just an over the counter stiff brush
What % sh did you hit this with. And do you usually do test spots on them.
I mention that at the 2:28 spot. No test spot
Wow! 6%? I'm doing my first awning right now. I got it up to 3% and little results. Is 6% generally safe for all awnings? I'm afraid! Thanks
@@Flushdraw-lw1gk if 6% hurts the awning, it was ready to be replaced. You’ll be fine!

Hey Gary. Great question. I like to use Hydrofluoric Acid, which comes in the front of Aluminum Brightener. NAPA Auto Parts sells it by the gallon
