That green pedal version from peppers is a special one. It was made during the worst part of Covid-19 lockdowns. And coming from New Zealand. They had to take super special sneakey ways to ship them and parts where rare.

One thing ray has in common with EVH is you can see the joy on his face when he plays.
Idk if you’ve ever tried this, but you can also boost the input of your amp with an EQ pedal.
Dimebag used the MXR 6-Band, which works great, but since you play in even lower tunings, maybe you could make use of the extra low frequencies of the 10-band.
Any EQ pedal will work, I think it’d be a fun experiment for ya, you’d also have more control over the frequencies your boosting/cutting.
5:25 now that's one way to get high notes on a baritone. gotta say i've never thought of that
I love my Dirty Tree. Switch it to TC preamp mode and add all the low end you want while taking out some of that ice pick top end.
Love how they incorporated the tc electronic integrated preamp’s tweakability and 33’s default sound of a beast in a single pedal. A full range of options to make a unique sound of your liking. Props to that brotherhood! I look up a lot to both you guys. Stay metal! 🔥

The thing I love about the 33 is the amp Chanel switcher. More ODs need that feature as I defiantly don’t want my OD on my clean channel in many applications

I use the 33 with my slo 100 and it sounds brutal! just lower your treble and presence on the amp and you're set ;)

The 33 is a preprogramed eq curve with a level knob. You can achieve the exact same effect as a 33 with an EQ in front without the crap or the BS price tag...

@@TonyPepers yeah the pedal maker has quite a long waiting time from what i guess must be selling a lot of pedals. You can only order in black and they take about 4 months if I remember correctly. I can't pay the high rate that people are asking for on reverb.

I'm a 33 lifer, but in context, Fredrik who is playing 8 strings and insane low tunings needs that high end , so when I got the 33 at first it wasn't what I was expecting due to the high end. So I just adjusted the bass and treble and immediately dialed in a next level tone. That's at least from my perspective.

Just wondering - can you run an EQ pedal before/after the Fortin33 to take out some treble but retain the intensity?

have you tried taming the high end of the Fortin 33 with an eq pedal after the Fortin?
Did you try doing the fortin 33 into you new pedal then to the dual rec and just using the low end eq knob as a filter to take out the highs that way you get the best of both worlds?
All Chugs matter . Sweet riffing as usual ! Would a graphic EQ after the Fortin help with that high end issue ?

Which circuit did you use. I have a 33 and keep it in play and use the tC circuit almost exclusively on the DT
So you're using the TC side of the circuit? I Think when you Flip the switch to the 'DT' setting the EQ is disabled & it's basically a 33 circuit. Sounds good

I dunno...I think I personally like the uniqueness of your 33 sound better. I mean, it's kinda "your sound". It is a little harsh and shrill, but seems to cut in the mix. I'm afraid without that shrill edge, you may compete with a bass player in different places of a mix. Back to the Metal...
