I have lived with chronic pain for over twenty-five years due to an injury during surgery and I never would have guessed it would affect me mentally years later but it has. I am married with two children who are married and have two sons each. I have a God-daughter with two daughters (the oldest stayed with us Friday night here from Mississippi going to college) and yet, I feel alone in this world. Lonely, sad and most times want to go to heaven and rest because the pain sometimes gets to me. But I think God for Jesus! Every day isn't a good day but every day that I can make it to the next day is a GOOD DAY! Everyone, even my best friend tried to help me but how can you help what you don't know is broken? I cannot explain the feeling of hopelessness when I know all my help comes from the Lord? It is a weird feeling that I cannot explain. But I am a fighter and I will never give up, I will fight through it, I will see my grandsons and granddaughters graduate high school, and college and get married, that is my prayer to God. Thank you for making it aware, that mental illness is a disease that many cannot fix.

I absolutely know how you feel 😢 I’ve had 2 back surgeries that never helped me and I have fibromyalgia. I’m in constant pain 24/7. I am alone but I have a 96 yr old father that I cook for, it’s not easy. I used to do a lot more for him but now I can’t 😢 My niece/ goddaughter has been helping with the things I can no longer do. I pray for our lord to help me and everyone else that suffers with chronic pain, or other affecting problems 💕🙏🙏

No one can multi-task like grandma..when they are small there are less questions as they get older they wanna help..all my grands can make eggs, sandwiches, and noodles. One day hopefully they will cook for me❤.

Wonderful video. I liked everything about it, from beginning to end. Thank you, Tennessee North, for starting by discussing a very sensitive subject for many. Poor mental health is running rampant. I am not ashamed in the least to say that I have been in therapy most of my adult life. Most therapists have diagnosed me with depression and anxiety. It certainly runs deeper. It is really Childhood/Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). I thank God for my Christian therapist since last year. Now, about this amazing meal you cooked up today… Tennessee North, I had to warm up my ground turkey lentils and vegetables soup just delivered by my graduating chef’s dad today. My mouth couldn’t make it to the end. I love smothered chicken. Thanks for sharing a new way of preparing it. Fried rice and fried apples are favorites of mine. Yes Ms North you are absolutely right. My daughter is in her 40"s I'm so confused on how to help her. It's so sad. Her kids are effected from this. I do believe her mental illness is due to drugs. I'm so saddened by this. But I love how you speak because you are so accurate. Speak the truth honey. Remember I'm watching. I'm taking care of her kids which they are hard to deal with. Ms, North, I loved your opening concerning mental health ❤. My oldest daughter, 53 yrs old now, became Bi-Polar around 18-20. It took over 20 years for her to realize she needed medication. She also has Pernicious enigma since 18 yrs old. I truly believe if she would have continued with her B12 injections, the Bi-Polar would not have presented itself. This kind of enigma can create bi-polar personality. For the last 8 years she has been on very high doses of B12 injections and her bi-polar symptoms have diminished, PRAISE the LORD❤. I have a son, 43 yrs old, that was held back from being born because the Dr was late. He was totally PURPLE, not breathing and was shaken, manipulated, and immediately put in an incubator. He crowned on my cervecs for so long he had a perfect, 3” purple circle on top of his head, for months!! He was and still is not “normal” as others are. However, he is married and has 3 beautiful children, 22, 20 and 17. His second child is somewhat autistic but a very smart, loving young man ❤. I absolutely understand about mental illness and have lived through the heartache, counseling, and trauma most of my life, and I’m 69 now. The fracture of your life doesn’t get any better, your always on edge, waiting for the NEXT SHOE TO DROP. 💕🙏🙏. God’s Grace and Blessings I send to you ❤. You HAVE the PATIENCE of JOB!!

I am new to your channel and only watched 2 videos so far. This is the way I love to cook too. I wasn't raised on home cooking. I taught myself so then my kids were raised on home cooking. I've never seen corn made that way before. I have made cream corn and corn pudding but not this fried corn you did. I will definitely try this for our next family meal.

MRS.Tenn. with children that are fighting there own demons now because of their bringing up as children are going threw very hard times in their lives, one of the things we can do is tell as much as we can that they are loved over and over again and that their pass life doesn't define who they are now and ensure them that when every or what ever they need come to you or family sometimes hear that they are ok often then they are worthless sinks in and they fall on I'm worth being here and by the grace of GOD and the love of the family it sticks with them, mental health in young people is growing getting them help now is important. I can’t understand it may be noisy for some. But for me personally, I love the family being there during your cooking shows it just gives me a warm feeling. I wish that I was closer to my relatives that are mostly down south while I’m on the west coast Here in Las Vegas. Family is so so important I feel. Mental illness is chronic and sometimes debilitating like any other disease process. The stigma of mental illness in our communities delays the treatment for some. 😢
A Holy spirit filled man or woman of God can cast out those demons inflicting the person with mental illness through the Holy Spirit power. I was delivered from a demon of depression. Jesus set me free.

MRS.Tenn. with children that are fighting there own demons now because of their bringing up as children are going threw very hard times in their lives, one of the things we can do is tell as much as we can that they are loved over and over again and that their pass life doesn't define who they are now and ensure them that when every or what ever they need come to you or family sometimes hear that they are ok often then they are worthless sinks in and they fall on I'm worth being here and by the grace of GOD and the love of the family it sticks with them, mental health in young people is growing getting them help now is important. Sorry about the soap box, you keep doing what you are doing it helps people. And the food looks good as usual ❤

Considering your comments ms. North, we always, give what we can in many ways but even in that, we have to learn when and how to move out the way. Not for ever, only when and if necessary. Always give what you can even a word or two. Nothing beats your love. Stay hardy and steady but move out the way when needed. I can’t understand it may be noisy for some. But for me personally, I love the family being there during your cooking shows it just gives me a warm feeling. I wish that I was closer to my relatives that are mostly down south while I’m on the west coast Here in Las Vegas. Family is so so important I feel. As me being visually impaired when I listen to your videos, it does make me feel like I am at home with you and your family, which is special to me.!!!❤😊
