Tara, my wife and I love your videos, especially watching you cook the 'fresh catch'. We would like to try some of your recipes but since "everyone's cooking is different", you don't give specifics (how much water to the rue...etc.) . Could you do videos on your crawfish stew with some specifics to give us a starting point? Love y’all channel. Found you by watching Peter’s channel. My family is from Louisiana, we are Creole ⚜️ so many similarities between our cultures. We make our roux a little different, but every family does gumbo with their own twist. Looks delicious 😋 Watching your videos makes me miss my family ❤ also, love the new cabin 👍🏼
We're Creole and usually Croeles add tomatoes to their dishes and the Cajuns don't, but even I don't add them to gumbo. Its worth a try though. That looks delicious.
I was born in New Orleans and been back to visit just once. Baton Rouge a lot and MS gulf coast a lot but I’ve never been exposed to life down in the bayou. You guys are great!!!

Up here in Illinois my wife makes gumbo 2-3 times a year. For our gumbo my wife uses cod fish, shrimp and andouille sausage. She also makes a rue, uses okra, cayenne pepper (not red pepper flakes). We put the cooked white rice in a bowl and put the gumbo on top. The gumbo tastes even better after it sits in the refrigerator. I'll mention to her about the vinegar.
