When we was younger my mom used to put sugar on our rice so we can eat it or else we wouldn't eat it that's how they used to con us to eat certain food by putting sugar on it
Yes ma'am, back when i grew up everyone sat at the table. Dad blessed the table and we kids said our prayers before eating. No tv, no you tube. Just family talking , and enjoying a real home cooked meal Mom cooked. Sure miss those days. Love your down home cooking and story telling. Glad I found your channel. New subscriber. ❤

My mom made beef liver and onions when I was a kid, but I usually stayed out of the kitchen on those days 😉. She also made rice pudding, which I loved! I worked for a family in Chicago and learned how to cook chicken liver for pate... that was interesting. I enjoy watching how you cook and learning your recipes and tips. May I suggest something please ? Try this please with the cooking eyes, Mix half cup Pine Soil and water in a spray bottle, Cut off some aluminum foil ball it up, Sprinkle a little Ajax , Spray the water and pine soil, Use the Aluminum foil to scrub the stove top good then wipe down, You can also use it for the oven , Hope You like it 😊 👍 That's what I use😊

I agree that sometimes a spoon can affect the way the sugar & the spices come through in a rice pudding 'mix-up' before it's cooked; even a plastic spoon , depending! What I think is handy to have close by is a couple or so wooden spoons...these won't affect how & which flavors stand out as the cook is checking for taste..It's good to always use a 'Corning Ware' dish or 'Pyrex' for your Rice Pudding, I agree with that, too. Thank you for not cooking in a rush or trying to be all about 'exact.' Delicious is the best measurement!! .

PS use a rubber or wooden spoon when cooking in a coated pan so you don’t scratch your coating 😉
