Textbooks are possibly the least effective way to learn anything. 3 years of highschool spanish taught me nothing. 3 weeks of pimsleur 1 taught me enough to carry on a brief, pleasant conversation. 6 months and i'll probably be ready to discuss in spanish with the crews. I tried the same thing you did with Softplan. Got nowhere. Popped the youtube tutorial open on one screen and the program in the other. Learned the whole system in 80 hours just following along.

Question for you, I am returning to autoCad after a 4 year hiatus and 25 years of operation, your tutorials are really clear and paced well and muach appreciation for a refresher. Now for the question- why is the tub drain left drain towards an open area, plumbing assumed where? Also, range in front of a window? I am wondering if this was designed as basic without consideration of common application of these elements?

Apart from kitchen wall that was the only wall on which window of smaller width (5") can be added and since I needed to show the horizontal and vertical orientation of 5" window I choose the wall between Living room and Bedroom(along with wall between kitchen and living room).

I opened Design Center and went to the us-en folder as directed but my folder didn't have the same contents are yours. Mine had 3 folders labeled 'ACADLP, CER, and UPI'. Any ideas why this is? I am also using autocad 2022 version. Thank you sir.
When you were placing the windows, you said "take a reference of a point", is it possible to enter the exact location relative to the reference point? how is it done? by the way, I'm using Autocad Lite 2023, thanks.

how do you ensure that the snap tool does not affect your working even it's on, for example when trying to copy the door block into the floor plan and it keeps snapping into endpoint or midpoint.

On this new auto as software. How do you make a wall. Walls are made of so many thickness like 4 inches, 6, 8 or 12 inches.sometimes 4 inches wall is connected to an 8” wall or any thicker wall.
Am trying to add the home designer blocks but in my software they are too big than the plan itself...what am I gonna do for the blocks to be smaller like in the video 😫😫😫
You can use scale command to scale the blocks to a smaller size, but in general if you made the drawing properly to scale with correct units as shown in the video then the block size would not show that big.
How do you change or edit a block? The double doors you created weren't meant for the thicker exterior wall they were designed for the interior wall, this type of design flaw bugs me and I haven't figured out a way to fix this without deleting the door and creating it anew.
i,m Stuck at Hatch coloring. it shows Closed Boundary cannot be determined? also it shows where it is. red circle at each Door that connects to Wall Lines. i'm Following with you Exactly the way you drawing, where did i missed? i also did Tolerance to Maximum but still same issue

How do you make the blocks or what blocks to insert to those floor drains, those pipe things under the sink, and those pipes that drains the toilet and bath tub ? I took one class at santa monica college (its a community college..I should have figured anything professional would have taught poorly at that school). the "professor" was so bad, he gave us cliff notes (that he made btw) for our CAD training. Just...wow.
sir the blocks which we are taking form addcenter that is not as per over drawng scale you should add some information to make them scale as per drawing.

I think there is a type of kitchen that has such windows, named american kitchen.
its just for the tutorial i believe

Why are there windows in interior walls, specifically in the wall between the living room and the bedroom?

you can always just pretend they're cutouts in the wall to make the rooms more "open"

Sir in My autocad 2007 version , the midpoint is not shows on line that is triangle not showing and osnap otrack option is on. How to fix this

Doors and windows should take same dimensions or different dimensions for each plan?
