I can't believe people charge hundreds of dollars for this training. They still don't answer a lot of simple questions. This guy is amazing for doing it for free.

IKR. Great channel!! That says a lot about Haz and Shield K9. I’d love to put what I’ve learned from Haz to use but I’m currently not a dog owner. However, if/when I move forward with buying one, my purchase will come from Shield K-9.

I’m listening to you giving command that you use. Then I unconsciously thought about commands I use. Well, I used the come command inadvertently and called him not realizing that my puppy was in the room. He came from the other side of the bed and startled the Sheets outta me.
    I’m watching you too closely.🤣

You always do a great job explaining and educating. Kudos to you for first talking about socialization for the pup! Too many people cannot grasp this concept and then end up with problems down the road.

Can I add, pick a neutral space? Meaning don't do it in the other dogs yard/house. I have also found it beneficial to just walk together. Forward motion, no hard heal, but no pulling/ lounging, just walk on. Then the standing, as they were showing, is even easier. An old horseman once said: As little as possible, as much as nessesary. P.s. this is the best dog video I've ever seen. For so many reasons! Keep it up. I'm almost ready to drive to Ont. from Wa. state. 😊

Interesting. I'll pick and choose. The crate is not something I'll use, for one, I'm always, well 98% of the time, at home and that leads to, I'll use the "place". I used to have a GSD mix but now I'm getting a golden retriever. The GSD wouldn't dream of rolling around in dirt (well she'd happily lay down in a pool of clay, but that was to cool off) but a Golden would get messy just for fun and I'd want her to stay somewhere where it doesn't matter if she's messy , to clean her.

This is a good tutorial for me, i ve got a 5 month old male malinois.
    He could understand now..
    1. Sit
    2 up
    3 down.. .. closer, closer..
    4. Not to touch foods on the bowl before i called out .... ok.... i purposely made him salivate at the beginning.
    5. Im in the middle of teaching him the heel command.
    6. I also want to teach him the command ... break. Later on and soon.
    7. I still have difficulty teaching him the command ... stay.
    8. I am able to teach him not to bite or messed my stuffs even though laying around the floor. But i have available lots of stuffs purposely just for him to play by himself and to bite...
    9. I have also trained him where to poop and pee at only designated areas where i have placed used newspaper. Now he only do his toileting stuff there.

Do I have the basic training ideas correct with the following statements? Only reward good behavior. Remove ‘“pressure” immediately when desired behavior seen. Clicker can be substituted by a particular vocal sound. That helps reinforce a behavior faster or in a timelier manner to mark a behavior. Avoid talking too much. Avoid following the dog and have the dog follow you, and to achieve that, a leash correction is all that is needed. Do not pull on leash but keep it loose. Use one consistent command word to ask for a certain behavior. And use s special vocal sound to mark that behavior, then treat so that the treat is hidden. Set up early training so puppy succeeds ie try to catch her early before she “breaks” on her own so that she learns what you want. Never punish if dog is coming to you so that she does not think it’s ever a bad behavior. Also, you should expect the desired behavior with only one command, not repeating it.
One question: I’ve heard you only use a dog’s name when issuing a positive command, but never with negative reinforcement. Is that true?
