@@JamesWilson-21I watched him a couple years ago, and he would record bass covers and even add his own little things into it, but when he would record a video, he wasn't actually playing, he was unplugged and playing with his previously recorded version of the song.... And continue to obviously mess up parts or play the wrong parts
he'd only done 6/26 tracks, 20 more to go. And according to his patreon page, you get the song you want for 5 bucks which means it only takes 100 bucks for him to do the rest of cliffs work. If you have a job and live in a 1st world country or even a 2nd world country then i think this is quite possible to pay him
What Cliff did in the pre-solo and solo is so cool, shame it is barely hearable in the song
the bass mixing in their 80s work is such a let down for Cliff and Jason's work. So many hidden gems lots of people will never pick up on

All respect just for tackling those Metallica tunes from the Cliff era, trying to play those 16th notes basslines at 200bpm is almost cruel to us mere mortals.
I sometimes wonder whether guys like Cliff and Steve Harris ever regretted choosing to absolutely lay it on from the start of the song once they were halfway into it lol, their fingers must be made from steel. This song is a hand burner for sure.

I just love listening Metallica with good bass phones or speakers, because Cliff had some really interesting ideas. Playing bass without a pick gives far more liberty.

in this case you can play the open string and then hammer on to 1 quickly. It works

Not pissed off, but genuinely try learning to hit 16th notes at or at least up to 200 bpm with only your index fingers, as well as some of the most complex structures in the trash side of music. He literally took inspiration from classic music, like Beethoven era type shit, and turned it into metal, and made some of the most iconic music to exist with it. All most bassists care about is who can play the fastest and put little to no creativity in. I honestly, would put cliff into the top 20 easily, and I would even argue him into top 10. I would back up my top 10 choice had he not died in the crash, cause he was only getting started. Listen to Cliff isolated tracks, and compare how he writes and plays to how the majority of others write and play, he will stand out. No hate, not pissed or butt hurt, but just throwing my senseless opinion out there to waste peoples time bc we live in a world where people can't civilly talk about differences in comments anymore

Anyway, this cover is perfect, guess this guy could play better riffs than the ones have been made for metallica till now
