BECOME A PATRON TO GET SONGS/TABS: www.patreon.com/coversolutions Made some rhythmic mistakes at the end part, sorry about that. I had not that much info to go on transcription but i used some videos and my common sense to create fluid fretboard movement. Grat line for practicing some stamina and different rhythmic challenges (if you follow the tab accurately) I swtiched my position on the final gallops to have less strain on the hand while plucking hard against the body of the instrument. More info about tone in description. Chords are most of the time just approximations on what the harmony points to be, usually harmony is less dense or contains only 5th or riff based ideas. Essentially the song begins in a B mInor idea, then modulating into A Minor, then going to E Minor for the hard riff parts and ending on B Minor again. If there's some doubts on suggestion on this please comment. Thanks a lot
CoverSolutions thanks anyway because this is helping me so much and my band is playing this song and there have been parts that I couldn't get down until now
Ride the Lightning, I feel is one of best albums Metallica put out. Great cover, brings back high school days and playing the cassette over and over!!!
I remember vividly the day I went over to a mates house and he put Ride the Lightning on. I was 14 and only just discovered Iron Maiden and AC/DC and when I hear this it was like I was taken to another planet. That was 35 years ago and it still sounds just as good!
Those bass gallops at the end are so fun to play. I ish they were louder in the original mix. It’s like you’re being taken by a heavenly horse carriage to the sky/afterlife. Thanks so much for this play along
Bass Covers are like watching hockey games from home. You don't get the hype and excitement from a live show or seat in game, but you are experiencing the song/game with professional production and with your favorite part of it highlighted. As a fellow Bass player I thank you!
I don't know, I've always liked the bass in this song and wanted to see how it was played... So good and so heavy! Bass is definitely the back bone to heavy metal.
Totally agree. Which is what makes it such a shame that the bass on this album was mixed so low. Ride the Lightning is my favorite Metallica album, but the way that the bass is placed so low in the mix does a huge disservice to both Cliff and the music. The songs have so much more muscle and power when the bass is boosted. Edit:. And that goes for all of Metallica's albums.
i got my first ever bass a few weeks ago, only played a few times cause i‘m busy with work / school, today i wanted to try to play this song and i managed the first half!! i always loved this song, so it makes me so happy i managed to play the half :)
OH MY GOD!!!!! this is just out of this world! this cover is EPIC!!!! if i need to have an ultimate bass line goal to play, it would definitely be this one! im astonished, crazy cover bro! congrats!!!
go slow, very slow and repeat. Sliding must be done with a loose feel so you dont get stuck in the fretboard, and the hammer on pull of part should be practiced separately
I'd suggest do the slide with your middle or ring finger. This leaves your index closes to the -g- for the easier hammer on pull off. Hope you got it by now though!
@@Sami-vw5iz That's a shame. Like CoverSolutions said, take it slow at the start and work your way up! Use a metronome and increase the bpm incrementally :)
Brutal Excelente cover y excelente sonido Estaría genial que cubrieras toda la discografía de Metallica en el futuro Anesthesia por favor! Un saludo desde Argentina!
Pretty much exactly what I said. But for people who want to learn how to play it, they won't really care. This a channel to help people learn, not to show off amazing tone
Man, I congratulate and thank you because since I see your videos I have improved my bass learning. A favor illustrate us with Leper Messiah by Metallica....Please Greetings from Colombia
Great cover! you make those gallops look so easy. I still need a lot more practice. So I was also wondering if you record your video and audio separately. If so, how do you sync them up? Thank you so much :)

How do you avoid copyright bans ? I've don'e a few bass playalongs on youtube, and they keep getting blocked.

Justice is my favourite
@Conrad Nickelson what you talking about. The bass on that album was perfectly mixed !

Same!
That's why I searched this.
Yessss
It's after 2 am and I just put my bass to bed and this shows up in my feed...
I guess I'm going to be late for work tomorrow.
@Joonhyung Cho Oh yes. Considerably.
@Joonhyung Cho No. Not over being late once

@@dvt1393 if they gave cliff a proper display of his talents more people would know he was the Hendrix of the bass
Same here, yet i find it sad the fade in and out are cut …
agree@@dvt1393 and light the lightning is my favorite swell
@@dvt1393agreed lol Metallica sounds so much better when YOU play the bass to it. The mixing in that album hurts
More Metallica, please. Sugestion: The Call of Ktulu.
Iran Reis hes done that
Niiiice, pleasee
@Mateus Souza, Br?
@@iranreis7045 yes men
Iran Reis I don’t think he has a wah pedal which is really important for the song.
I love that one little higher note Cliff put before the each chorus.
The Bass in this song is so sweet.
This cover is absolutely fantastic, I'll always come here for quality bass tutorials and tones
Cliff was a God. Great job!
Still waiting to have my teeth pulled
Don't forget anesthesia
@@snappedaway5995 I can't tell if this is a joke or not

I woulda like to see you playing "My Name Is Mud"
I think he'd need a 5 string bass for it
@@gamebreakers2535 So, dude. He did a vid with 50 Bass intros, in the vid, he played "Jerry Was A Racer Car" with 4 strings Bass.
He needs a low B string. Doesn't sound good without one
Primus sucks.
Mrhead 54 he tunes his string down to B
How you do your two fingers gallop? 2-1-2 or 1-2-1?
It's way more comfortable to play 2-1-2. At least for me, that way I switch the figers faster:D
@@Domce-fw1qu thanks
For me it's much easier to gallop alternating the two ways, so 2-1-2, 1-2-1, 2-1-2, 1-2-1 and so on :)
I do 1-2-3
I do 2-1-2 1-2-1 2-1-2
Omg the chorus riff on bass sounds amazing
Classic Burton bass line. One of my favs.
Never have I ever pressed a RUclips vid so fast! Thanks!
thanks for 1:58 i kept plucking those notes
Fade to black brings tears to my eyes every time
Terrific stuff.. the Bass gives this masterpiece so much more grunt.
The transition is always the best part

Do trapped under ice!
Trapped's bass is fairly basic as it's a filler song per say
It is mostly just beacuse i wanna see the tab

More Metallica 👏🏻👏🏻
A full cover of jeremy by pearl jam would be appreciated
You need a 12-string bass for that one.
Its not necessary. It'll sound less cool, but you can still play all the notes, if I'm not mistaken
