It took me over a year to learn this from your transcription...couldn't have done it otherwise. My wife is sick of hearing it, but no matter. Merci, Francois!
Loved this. He made it sound - and look - so simple! People think a jazz improvisor just gets up on stage and plays, but clearly, this must have taken hours of thought and practice.
Masterpiece of elegance and beauty by Mr. Kessel. I've heard many guitarists variations on this hauntingly romantic tune, but for me, this became #1 tune this autumn season and more. Thank you for this great transcription. Now, its learning time for me. SL
Just bought a pack with this in it. Pdf is perfect. Thank you very much. Slowly learning these master works has brought a whole other dimension to my playing. 💓
Wow you have ears of gold to transcribe all these crazy chords. If you can play this is that called “making the Kessel run”? Asking for a smuggler friend
Is it me, or did BK just keep getting better and better until he passed away? It seems that way. Dang. You're going to pull me back to jazz. Help! I can feel the spinning vortex!
Don’t worry according to Francois it took him a few years to properly transpose the 200 songs in his complete library. That he’s offering. I may not have that exactly right. I was thinking about buying it. Maybe it’s more than 200 songs. Someone could let me know.

I have break the 500 transcriptions in January! it's not 100% properly 'transposed' but it's close enough. Cheers!
This is the best channel on RUclips! I was searching for this one for ages. I'm trying so hard to transcribe Quartarone's version. I'm really slow on this
Appreciate your work. Love Barney Kessel. Thanks for doing the Ed Bickert as well. Would love to see some more of that. Just love his chordal approach on his trio playing
Wow, all of these guys from the '50s and '60s were just so amazing. I feel like a baby in diapers listening to someone like Kessel, or Wes, Garland, etc. I wish RUclips had been around and I could have been exposed to stuff like this when I was in my teens or twenties.
Amazing transcription!thx! I am wondering why did he choose this key while the mosto common keys are E and G minor? Just a ritorical question.what he was thinging?what a genius he was.the best cord solo of this tune by far
I only have a acoustic and I want to try this on that. I don't even have pickup. Backing track won't blend with my playing haha. But, I will save the backing track if someone post the link here. That's why I'm commenting xD
@@aung1406 Thanks, I am still looking for a backing track. For now though, I have drowned out the guitar on the original recording with an audio editor. It sounds ok for me to practice with, but the beautiful acoustic sound of the bass is lost. i have posted a message to a few bass players and they are not willing to put the time in to learning the song.

what the fudge a year is this that hard?
@@larrytakesover8984 I'm a beginner, so cut me some slack.
@@michaeltibbs9875 Well, now you're intermediate. Congrats
Guitarists, and musicians in general, should be left alone most of the time... I know that feeling...
That exact attitude is why my wife hasn't had a song written for her yet 😂

Maybe not hours. Perhaps decades
A very basic standard from the 40's covered by thousands
One thing I love about Barney's arrangements is that he never takes the most obvious choices...I love the tense Dma7/G chords he throws in!

This is a gold mine for guitar players. Dig in. Thank You !
Barney Kessel wasn't as well-known as some of the other greats, but he was definitely one of them.
Barney is right up with with the greatest, he's one of them.
cheers 🎸
He is one of the rare players with roots in the swing era not just bebop
[1] Barney Kessel is superb. [2] Thank you for your service to humanity Francois.
We need to collectively “big up” Kessel as much as possible. Thanks for taking the trouble to post, appreciated.😎
If you listen to this at the right time (i.e. a rainy autumnal Sunday), tears will come

I've been looking for this video for 6 months now. No one plays it like Barney. Great work!
This is the best piece of guitar jazz I ever heard I Think
this is arguably the best transcriptions online thank you so much
It is so helpful when the transcription comes with chord diagram. NO WORDS TO THANK YOU. Greetings from Brazil.
These chromatic transitions are kinda spookey and alot of fun

I think in terms of musical/melodic content, its hard to beat Barney! So many nice colours.
He can be so vocal as well. Some of his tones sound almost human
@@micsunday14 did you mean 'inhuman'?
man you need some bad ass ears to transcribe this..thank you so much!!
I would say... mostly patience and coffee. Thanks!
Fantastic ears and with correct rhythm notation to boot!
Keep drinking the coffee, @ Excellent work!
@ Yep, sometimes more coffee than patience, and more patience than coffee now and then... though always a very damned good ear...;-)
@ Patience, coffee and some auditory help - volume is too damn low!

I am fascinated with that chord.
Chunky finger fail on that one. My god it is so hard for me to voice
Was stuck on that part alone for weeks lol

This is just beyond my ability to play and I am the first to admit it. Are you aware of any other more simplified arrangements out there?
Yess, merci !

Fantastic
Nice performance
Thank you!
simply wow! super suscribed!
Is something wrong about the D♭maj7/6 over the 3º fret?
The name? I just had no idea what to call this chord, to me it's a Db/C or a kind G7(alt)/C but the G on the bass just mess with my head.
is there a specific software you use to transcribe or help transcribe?
I bought the pdf pack and I enjoy whats in it but is there a Gpx or midi file you can share or even a backing track? great job btw
wow! great choice...something I should know ... !!!
Beleza!
Where can I get a backing track for this? It is proving impossible to find in E flat major, like the recording.
