She already hated Poseidon but couldn't face him since he was one of the Big Three. Another was that Medusa and her sisters (The Gorgon sisters), who all were born and died as gorgons. Every story is different based on their source, and no one knows the true one. :)
The real story is she was a black queen with dread locs. The people of the sea had never seen anything like it before and fell in love with her and also wanted her land. So they went back to where they were from and told the story or this queen with a head of snakes 🐍 but they really were just loc’s so they sent many warships there to take the head of the queen with the head of snakes 🐍 (short version)
