I bought a NordiTrack Commercial 1750 last week. After assembly I learned that IFit/NordiTrack removed the ability to BlueTooth connect to iPad/iPhone/iWatch. If you want to do heart rate monitoring, you have to buy an IFit. NordiTrack still advertises this ability but IFit deleted the ability.
I went into a Peloton store the other day just for fun. The bike looked pathetic compared to my S22i. I love how the workout is constantly changing in terms of incline/decline and resistance. This is as close as you can get to actually riding outdoors. My 22-32 minute workouts are really showing results. I get between 48-48 zone minutes on my FitBit and burn around 300 calories on average. I have had the bike less than a week and already have 8 rides. Currently doing the Winter Champion series riding in the Santa Susana mountains.
I’m really new to exercise bikes in general. Like, I’m almost 2 weeks in. I have the S22i, and I love the automatic incline/resistance features. I have the music turned off because I agree that the music should reflect the workout. I also have the trainer talking turned off because I can’t keep up with the fast pace during the go go go parts. So I listen to Audible. I’m hoping to be able to “get up to speed” sooner than later.
good video. i have the music off. i enjoy the iFit scenic rides. i much prefer these over studio classes. i think the scenic rides are well produced, and they seem to regularly add new ones to the library. the best thing about the iFit is you can buy the family plan for 3 years and get the bike for free. afterwards, you can still use the bike in manual mode if you choose to stop your subscription.
I loved ifit when it worked. Yuri hoswald is the man. Big ups to him. The rides were amazing. But the app would quit in the middle of the ride. It was happening daily. I would say ifit is like a 4 out of 10 because the app is so buggy. But the rides are awesome.
I’ve been considering becoming an app user. I mainly use Apple Fitness Plus for my workouts but learned about the scenic rides for rowing, bike and treadmill (non-iFit connected) which look really fun. But as you say in the video, the music is terrible. Can you turn off the sound entirely, display subtitles (on my ipad or TV) and then use Bluetooth headphones playing Apple Music on my phone?
Hi, does IFit have hour long studio cycling classes on demand? Do they have a lot of them? I am used to taking spin classes in the gym which are always an hour long and I would like to mimic that workout as close as possible. Before I subscribe to a service, I want to be sure that these classes are available. Thanks for your help.
IFIT had around 60-70 cycling classes on demand that are in the 50+ minute range. Another option I like to do is take 2 classes in an outdoor series back to back (they usually are 20-40 min each) or mix it up with an off the bike strength session on the app 👍
I have been enjoying the IFIT Rides but the auto resistance is really low. I want to follow the trainer but he has the auto resistance at 5 out of 16. Says that we are climbing and to keep your RPMs up at 75. I had my RPMs well over 100. I turned up my resistance manually, then when you could see they were heading up really steep spots I turned it up further so I could feel like I was actually climbing the mountain with them. Does anyone else have that problem?
Yes this was by far my biggest issue with the iFIT rides. However, last month they finally updated the bikes with a new feature that completely solves this. Smart Adjust which allows you to increase the resistance during class and it will continue to adjust during the workout to the trainers recommendations but with a harder difficulty.
They did fix this with an update. Auto adjust for my last ride had me riding at1 level off from max. I am a lot happier with the resistance so ce the update
Ifit scenic rides are SO good! I never did studio rides until I got a peloton…and only because peloton scenic rides are so terrible. I miss Ryan petry rides. His series in Turkey was my favorite
I've go a Peloton and have no problem with their scenic rides or classes. I don't care if they are edited or not - after all the only goal is to maximize your output.
I love my IFIT outdoor rides. I hate gym spin classes. Boring. I just turn off the music. I like listening to the coach and pretending I’m really out there. Music is not necessary.
I like having them a lot. It’s not as good as having a playlist that was made specifically for each workout, but it’s definitely good enough for me to find something that I feel like listening to for the day.
I've been hearing horror stories about issues with NordicTrack equipment and shitty customer service. Is this legit or just a case of "squeaky wheel gets the grease"?
Oh yes, the ifit music is just terrible. They need to use some additional genres that are more upbeat that has found success with many gyms etc. like Soca Music.
I watch the iFit scenic ride on an app on my Smart TV while riding my Peleton. The Peleton doesn't automatically adjust height and resistance in sync with the video. I have to do it manually. But the scenic ride videos on iFit are so much better than Peleton's that manual resistance is worth it.
I've been riding with iFit since January and the concepts are great, but in reality, the software SUCKS. Videos crashing frequently, stats not being saved, buffering issues (I have high speed Internet). It's a new problem every week with iFit. If Peloton makes their scenic rides a robust offering in the future, I'll be switching because at least Peloton supports my 5G wifi and the software works.
I haven't had those issues (except for buffering issues which seem a lot better recently for me), but have heard of others with some problems. It seems like they are pushing to improve their system a lot lately (more music, dark mode, better filter system, etc) so hopefully they continue to make the software better. Peloton definitely has the software side dialed in well, but I have strong doubts they will try to continue to develop their scenic rides much further.
@@ConnectTheWatts That’s the big decider for me. If Peloton makes the scenic rides comparable to iFit’s, I’d make the switch to get Peloton’s better wifi connectivity and software.
For sure. The reasons I have doubts on Peloton scenic ride development is that without the incline feature, outdoor rides feel much less immersive. And I don’t think Peloton wants to compete on scenic rides if they feel like an inferior experience. Maybe scenic Runs tho since their treadmills can incline.
I hate iFit because I just want scenic rides, not to listen to some idiot "trainer" talking all the time and taking up half the screen. Wish someone just made solo POV rides instead.

you just confirmed how awful and useless ifit is thsnk you
This is the exactly the review I was looking for, specifically about the scenic rides. Thank you!

Which bike do you have?

I like my own music or just "talking" with the trainer so it hasn't been a problem for me, but they did update the music channels not too long ago.
I love the ifit scenic rides. My favourite ifit series is the Egyptian walk - it's super interesting and amazing to watch.

I've never heard of this. Family plan is $35/mo? And if you pay for $3 years membership they reimburse you for a particular model?
Can I jailbreak my peloton to access ifit??

There’s the option to change the music station. There’s about a dozen or so to choose from.
Yes they’ve added 13 stations since this video was released. Still not as good as a custom playlist for each workout, but definitely much better!
Do all rides in the iFit have a coach? What if you just want to do a free ride without a coach in front of you? Thank you.

When doing
outdoor rides on your S22i, does
your pedaling rate effect how
fast or slow the video ride
moves, like on Pelotons outdoor
rides?
No they are more similar to Pelotons Guided scenic rides… except much more engaging and with auto resistance/incline/decline
Do you know if the s15i has automated incline/decline as well... I know they do incline/decline, but not sure if it is automated during scenic rides
you could check with their support... but Ive fairly confident all NordicTrack devices have Smart Adjust now
It has like the other models...
Where is the ride in the first video with the mountains?
Under Scenic rides (only available on the bike, not the app)
@@ConnectTheWatts yeah I just got my bike, can you tell me the which ride this is? Instructor and location please?

This revie was about a year and a half back. Has iFIT made some changes to their music on the scenic rides?

not sure what I said in this video, but I know currently they have 11 music stations to choose from which is much better than what it was.
I love the ifit scenic rides. Turn off the music and enjoy the sounds.

can i use iFIT Senic Rides on the Peloton Bike ?
This is something I am also wondering. Probably wouldn’t get the automatic resistance change if you can …
I'm not sure there is a way to take any classes on the Peloton outside of Peloton classes. You could always stream it to a TV though.

I disagree with your music issues.
I'm glad I'm not the only one, that music was awful and the reason I didn't want to continue the subscription because of just how awful it was.
