My Fursona is a German Shepherd named Bullet: one of his ears is torn and he has lots of facial scars, as well as abnormally large teeth. His eyes are green, and he has some green tribal markings on his shoulders and his arms. Bullet is a soldier, and is extremely reserved but very confident and powerful. He wears fatigues and a collar. When he's angry, or frightened, he acts 'feral', but in the right situations Bullet is a great leader and coped well in situations under stress.

I’m a lion, took ages to get to that point. A lot of tweaking features, switching species around. Just takes some time to get it to the way you like it. People shouldn’t feel like they need it perfected right that second. Just play with coloration, markings, so on and so forth. It can be a fun experience.
So when I bought a custom from this guy, Headmaster Taxi, on Furry Amino, it was only because I loved Chinese Foo Dogs. After I received my foo dog, Archibald, I soon discovered why Archie was so important to me, as well as his species. Foo Dogs are actually lions and their purpose is to protect whatever land they're on, which is why they're very common at the front step of Chinese palaces. Foo dogs are supposed to be the guardians, the ones that hold all the power (or nurture young if it's a female). I know that with my friends and family, I'm always the guardian and I'm constantly struggling with holding onto power. Foo Dogs are the ones that are the strong and protect the weak, and honestly, I want to feel like I do that too. In Archie's case, he a bit greedy and cold but I made him that way because those attributes are connected to other's like confidence and having a backbone, which is all I want. I made Archie have a poor personality with redeemable aspects, because it's a lot like me. Wow, it's really late and I'm sorry for prattling.

My Fursonas started out FNaF OCs, than Warrior Cat OCs, than Fursonas. Crysalis - Caracal/Wyvren Bloodredstar - Caracal again Crosseyes - Serval Tinyshadow - Lynx I'm going to draw them now.
My two fursonas are Floofy- female wolf ( main sona ) Salt- male lobster ( secondary sona ) Floofy came to be because I learned of the fandom and wanted to join. I remembered the wolf avatars from a game I play and kinda combined my favorites and I instantly loved her even though her design is basic. ( gray, white, brown, black for the fur, brown eyes. ) Salt came to be because I noticed the lack of unique sonas and wanted to help fix that. I drew a basic lobster and felt a connection. So now he's my secondary sona. Wish there were more f2u bases because I have no talent with refs and I can't commission one.

+Briana DeVolve I, too, suck at names and drawing but I will say this: I usually find names that mean a certain word. For example, if you wanted a princess, Sarah means princess. If you wanted something that sound more foreign, you can try names that appeal to you (and that you can pronounce of course!) For example, Akhtar means flower (Not sure what origin it has because I literally typed in "names that mean" and the first thing that came up was flower and Akhtar was the first one but the list had no genders for some reason). You can choose names for characters based what gender its for (girl names for girls, guy names for guys, unisex names for genderless/hermaphrodites) or you can break the rule and just go with whatever. It's best if you pick a color or character trait or power or something else to use for character name meaning. Although, you could be completely random and use generators and pick which ever sounds most appealing. Hope that helped :)

Most furries do not have fursuits or money for them, being a furry means to admire anthro styled animals and enjoy other furries. Simply identify as one, and you are one! :p

I made my fursona a dog because I feel like I am most like a dog and I chose my favorite dogs which are: Australian Shepard and a husky and and I named her Dorito because I absolutely love Doritos lol. The colors of Dorito or a light brown as the main color and white as the secondary color with dark gray spots, she has a light blue collar with matching eyes

Nice, insightful video! When I give someone fursona advice, I go along similar lines: try to make it unique, stand out, don't copy, and don't let anyone tell you your artistic vision is wrong. How I made mine! Iffy is an offshoot of a tabletop RPG character I rolled in Gamma World with my first furry friends. We were allowed to roll a random species on a table for stat bonuses in character creation, and I rolled a choice between a hawk and an otter. I chose otters because of their reputation for curiosity and playfulness, and fluid gracefulnes in the water, plus I like to swim. Iffy has his whiskers in a goatee arrangement to stand out from other otters, and I picked that feature from day one. Also, if I had to pick a superpower to give Iffy at all, it would be teleportation. He would be able to dive into and "Swim" through an alternate dimension and emerge anywhere within a distance matching wherever he could reasonably swim in a minute, as if through water, with the trip being instant to outside observers, with as much weight as he could carry and still "paddle" through hyperspace.
My first “official” fursona was technically opposite to my gender. This actually kinda made more sense for me too. His name was Doug, and he was a dog-human. He was kinda shy, an extroverted introvert, and was more outgoing. He kinda started to become my more social side, which doesn’t come out as often as it use to. Unlike how I normally make characters, he was COMPLETELY normal. He was a mix between several dog types (i dont remember all of them XD) and a lot of the times I role played with my best friend, I would play boy characters. And my main favorite character was Claw, who was basically a wolf-boy. His powers and abilities changed CONSTANTLY! But he was still one of my favorites. Then, I made a cat-human girl, with pink fur named Samantha. I still haven’t made a personality for her, and just can’t seem to figure it out.
my main fursona is a female short tailed deer-dragon named fawn. she is a deer-dragon because the dragon part represents my fierce protective side and the deer part represents my shy antisocial and how i am very easily startled side tho despite that me and my fursona try our best to be outgoing and social. basically my fursona is me.

i'm not personally a furry, but I just wanted to see the thought process behind designing them. I think that it's really fascinating how you add certain details and features to apply/relate to your personality. I might try designing a fursona, but I'm still probably not going to join the furry community, due to all of my friends absolutely despising the community. I personally wouldn't mind joining the community, as long as those around me wouldn't DESTROY me for doing so. I just think that it's a really amazing way to express yourself and I applaud/admire those in the community. Also, I think the whole gross side of the community is really what turns me away from it. I know this is very late..but I always thought of having my first fursona. it took me awhile to figure it out but I finally came up with it......now I know it's dumb...but my fursona is a penguin named stari night. and stari is basically a galaxy themed penguin that carries a plush pumpkin bucket because he thinks Halloween is the best holiday because it's the night of free candy. stari really loves candy (specifically reeses peanut butter chocolates) and is always wearing a winter hat and a scarf. he loves stars and looking at the constellations at night all the time. on his back he actually has a star that lights up sometimes when he's happy

I’m a lion, took ages to get to that point. A lot of tweaking features, switching species around. Just takes some time to get it to the way you like it. People shouldn’t feel like they need it perfected right that second. Just play with coloration, markings, so on and so forth. It can be a fun experience.
So when I bought a custom from this guy, Headmaster Taxi, on Furry Amino, it was only because I loved Chinese Foo Dogs. After I received my foo dog, Archibald, I soon discovered why Archie was so important to me, as well as his species. Foo Dogs are actually lions and their purpose is to protect whatever land they're on, which is why they're very common at the front step of Chinese palaces. Foo dogs are supposed to be the guardians, the ones that hold all the power (or nurture young if it's a female). I know that with my friends and family, I'm always the guardian and I'm constantly struggling with holding onto power. Foo Dogs are the ones that are the strong and protect the weak, and honestly, I want to feel like I do that too. In Archie's case, he a bit greedy and cold but I made him that way because those attributes are connected to other's like confidence and having a backbone, which is all I want. I made Archie have a poor personality with redeemable aspects, because it's a lot like me.

Floofy came to be because I learned of the fandom and wanted to join. I remembered the wolf avatars from a game I play and kinda combined my favorites and I instantly loved her even though her design is basic. ( gray, white, brown, black for the fur, brown eyes. )
Salt came to be because I noticed the lack of unique sonas and wanted to help fix that. I drew a basic lobster and felt a connection. So now he's my secondary sona. Wish there were more f2u bases because I have no talent with refs and I can't commission one.

+Briana DeVolve I, too, suck at names and drawing but I will say this: I usually find names that mean a certain word. For example, if you wanted a princess, Sarah means princess. If you wanted something that sound more foreign, you can try names that appeal to you (and that you can pronounce of course!) For example, Akhtar means flower (Not sure what origin it has because I literally typed in "names that mean" and the first thing that came up was flower and Akhtar was the first one but the list had no genders for some reason). You can choose names for characters based what gender its for (girl names for girls, guy names for guys, unisex names for genderless/hermaphrodites) or you can break the rule and just go with whatever. It's best if you pick a color or character trait or power or something else to use for character name meaning. Although, you could be completely random and use generators and pick which ever sounds most appealing.

You don't have to have a fursuit to be a furry you just need to like anthro animals
You don't have to tell them. If you do, show them a video of moms of furries and you don't need a fursuit to be a furry. Heck, most of us don't have one.
Most furries do not have fursuits or money for them, being a furry means to admire anthro styled animals and enjoy other furries. Simply identify as one, and you are one! :p

I made my fursona a dog because I feel like I am most like a dog and I chose my favorite dogs which are: Australian Shepard and a husky and and I named her Dorito because I absolutely love Doritos lol. The colors of Dorito or a light brown as the main color and white as the secondary color with dark gray spots, she has a light blue collar with matching eyes

Nice, insightful video! When I give someone fursona advice, I go along similar lines: try to make it unique, stand out, don't copy, and don't let anyone tell you your artistic vision is wrong. How I made mine!
Iffy is an offshoot of a tabletop RPG character I rolled in Gamma World with my first furry friends. We were allowed to roll a random species on a table for stat bonuses in character creation, and I rolled a choice between a hawk and an otter. I chose otters because of their reputation for curiosity and playfulness, and fluid gracefulnes in the water, plus I like to swim. Iffy has his whiskers in a goatee arrangement to stand out from other otters, and I picked that feature from day one. Also, if I had to pick a superpower to give Iffy at all, it would be teleportation. He would be able to dive into and "Swim" through an alternate dimension and emerge anywhere within a distance matching wherever he could reasonably swim in a minute, as if through water, with the trip being instant to outside observers, with as much weight as he could carry and still "paddle" through hyperspace.

My first “official” fursona was technically opposite to my gender. This actually kinda made more sense for me too. His name was Doug, and he was a dog-human. He was kinda shy, an extroverted introvert, and was more outgoing. He kinda started to become my more social side, which doesn’t come out as often as it use to. Unlike how I normally make characters, he was COMPLETELY normal. He was a mix between several dog types (i dont remember all of them XD) and a lot of the times I role played with my best friend, I would play boy characters. And my main favorite character was Claw, who was basically a wolf-boy. His powers and abilities changed CONSTANTLY! But he was still one of my favorites. Then, I made a cat-human girl, with pink fur named Samantha. I still haven’t made a personality for her, and just can’t seem to figure it out.

my fursona is a two tailed cat. shes Gray dark gray and neon accents and her tail is three shades of green and her back has a dark green line the leads to her tail which changes to dark to neon green. I made her when I was about 16. I'm 23. and making an crochet version of her but I'm not liking how the arms and legs come out. her name is nelly. it's hard for me to draw her the same from when I first did and it bothers me cause that's the design I love the most
i'm not personally a furry, but I just wanted to see the thought process behind designing them. I think that it's really fascinating how you add certain details and features to apply/relate to your personality. I might try designing a fursona, but I'm still probably not going to join the furry community, due to all of my friends absolutely despising the community. I personally wouldn't mind joining the community, as long as those around me wouldn't DESTROY me for doing so. I just think that it's a really amazing way to express yourself and I applaud/admire those in the community. Also, I think the whole gross side of the community is really what turns me away from it. I know this is very late..but I always thought of having my first fursona. it took me awhile to figure it out but I finally came up with it......now I know it's dumb...but my fursona is a penguin named stari night. and stari is basically a galaxy themed penguin that carries a plush pumpkin bucket because he thinks Halloween is the best holiday because it's the night of free candy. stari really loves candy (specifically reeses peanut butter chocolates) and is always wearing a winter hat and a scarf. he loves stars and looking at the constellations at night all the time. on his back he actually has a star that lights up sometimes when he's happy

I went from fox to rabbit, fox again, rabbit, otter, rabbit, otter, fox, rabbit, hybrid of all three, otter, and then I FINALLY finalised the design.... Settled with an otter and couldn't be happier with him. The only thing is that there's now twelve different foxes, rabbits and otters walking the earth with the name Taichi.
