I am just climbing out of the water color rabbit hole. It has become overwhelming. Although I am still tempted to buy more I realize no new paint will help improve my artwork. Using the ones I have will do the work.
Thank you for sharing! I think it's fine to have as little or as much everyone needs if the paints are being used. :) I do feel having too many paints can be too overwhelming sometimes so limited palettes help.
Lapis ashes! Ahh your collection has grown beautifully!❤ I loooove the PB60 Indanthrone Blue. I have it in multiple watercolors, and multiple acrylic formulations. And It. Is. Gooorgeous 😍 I can see it - and Prussian Blue - both being gorgeous workhorse colors for you. Deep and inky, but neutralize the earthy rust tones you love too.
You have a really beautiful selection of watercolors and its so nice to see what handmade paints you can get out there. I have a few handmade paints myself and I really love them. Ive also been gravitating toward earthy tones lately so I love seeing what you have in your collections
I just love your cozy videos💕 I watched a video on Wallace Seymour paints recently that had a PB60 that was amazing. The artist said that he preferred it because it didn’t have the drying shift that so many brands have. You might want to try it. I have been trying to get Lapis Ashes, but it is frequently sold out. I am going to get coastal fog, though, as it is easy to get in the US. The pages for your book are lovely - can’t wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for sharing this video.😘
The Earth colors are just stunning. It’s basically all the colors I love. I’m not a real” bright color” kind of person, more muted, and earth tones and so this is just beautiful. What a gorgeous collection and I bet you have a lot of fun painting with it.
What a beautiful video! I also keep the wrappers from my hand-made paints. I make spreads in my art journal using them! I absolutely love your channel and your illustration style. Thank you for sharing your gift with us! ❤❤
That prussian blue is gorgeous! I think I prefer it over lapis ashes pigment~ You’re making me realize the beauty of watercolors for illustrations~ Digital art is nice but wow, something about the texture of watercolor paintings 😍
Lapis Ashes :) Rex is a great name, and love his new friend Ash. I love these muted colors! I am going through an outrageously colorful stage right now so this reminds me of my more calm self. Those blues you picked are amazing.
I’ve seen some artists, add liquid graphite to the water, colours that they find a little bit bright if they’re in to moody colours, and you could change those watercolours the white nights with a little bit of liquid graphite into a moody colour that’s more muted just a thought.
I am now wanting to buy handmade watercolours like never before - Lapis Ashes is lovely, but that Prussian Blue, though really I do need more earth tones in my collection....and to paint more. Love your videos and your studio space.
Lapis Ashes,so great to hear your insights into your colour choices,I love the Wallace and Seymor paints too, they are so richly pigmented.Nice to meet Rex and Ash your artist guardians.I love the two new illustrations as well the one with the owl is stunning.Hope work on your book is going well, sounds exciting.(Matt) p.s I tried the Wallace & Seymor paints after seeing them on Natasha's channel
I would love to see a video with use watching out your palette , I’d also love to see a video of you switching out all your greens. I absolutely have fallen in love with green are used to only like bright colours but now I like muted earthtones and I really love green but it’s difficult to find the right kind of green you’re looking for, so I would love to see all the ones you have.
Lapis Ashes. I don't use hand-made watercolor. I bought 52 A. Gallo colors and really struggle with them because I use multiple layers to build texture and depth. However, they work well for illustrations.
All these palettes and pigments … swoon! When you mentioned lapis ashes it reminded me of YT Ifat Flowers upload yesterday where she made swatches of mixtures from her muted palette. I was particularly amazed by the beauty of those made with lapis lazuli. Is lapis ashes also a magical mixer or do you mostly use it on its own?
Lapis ashes looks like a lovely colour. I’m trying to not but more at the moment, but there are so many gorgeous watercolours out there. Thanks for the palette tour!
I was so excited to see the Essee palette because I bought it a few hours before you posted this video. I can’t wait to use the palette and seeing it in your video is the next best thing to having it delivered. It was also a relief because I was a little nervous making a purchase from Essee because I had never heard of them before. But I couldn’t resist that gorgeous wood palette, so I go it with the eternal love set. The colors in that set look lovely (though they’re probably too bright for you, lol) and they were even nice enough to let me switch out a couple of the colors in the palette. Did you like the colors you got? Thanks for all your videos! I recently learned of your channel and I’ve enjoyed learning about your painting process.
lapis ashes...yep stayed till THE END...and where is some COOL RED/MAGENTA...or some SUNNY YELLOW???? How do you do such a limited palette continually...???😳...soooo many neutrals...Actually I would be bored to paint continually with such a neutral palette...love to have my bright colours...Kudos to you...for making it all work for you...and for...of course loving that type of palette.and making it work for you in your paintings!!!! Thanks for showing all your palettes...with so many similar neutrals.....I think you may be "one of a kind" Kriksis...😉🤗
Hi kriksis! these watercolours are so beautiful, I am in love with the Wallace Seymour colours you showed, i think I will invest In 'mermaid egg', seems like it will be a staple in my work. + Lapis Ashes :)
I dry my watercolor pans in a food dehydrator. You could probably do something similar with a conventional oven at the lowest temperature with the door partially open.

Lapis Ashes x 5 or 6. Have watched to the end numerous times. In my opinion Kriksis has an impeccable eye for color. My kind of color palette.
