I thrive on 'body doubling' to stay productive! So when I need to work on illustrating a project, I usually have one of my kids in the office with me or I have youtube on in the background. My favorite channels are yours, James Gurney's, Katie Moody's, Mel chadwick's, and Natasha Newton's for art inspiration. But I also love Imamu room and honeyjubu!
Beautiful, cosy video! Well done on saving the little Dunnock. One sat in my hand once - he was just sitting in the middle of the road near my mum's house in Suffolk, so I picked him up to move him and he just sat there in my hand for several minutes, quite happily! He didn't seem to be injured, and eventually flew off. I've never had a bird do that before! :)
Thank you so much Natasha! Thanks for sharing! Maybe the bird was in shock state? I once held pigeon who was near road as well and he didn't fly away, was quite bewildered so I spend some time with the bird. It's so nice to hear these small moments that help. Hope that dunnock was all right, the same for that pigeon and this dunnock.
Robin!,so great to see all aspects of your creative process, selecting colour palettes.I loved the studies of jumpers and pullovers, added to the cosy nature of the video. The patreon artwork is really stunning.Glad to hear you are making progress on your bird book too.The daily drawing/painting you are doing is a great way to improve your creativity and to stay motivated too.Excited for part 2(Matt)P.s I listen to music in my studio or RUclips included your inspiring videos.Kudos you for rescuing the bird too
Paldies par omulīgo video! Priecājos, ka tev tagad ir galda molberts. Es pamanīju, ka proporcijas manos zīmējumos ir pareizākas, kad zīmēju uz molberta. Man tādu sameistaroja mans tētis. Tāds pats, kā visiem, bet tikai taisīts ar mīlestību un domām par mani. 😊 Viņš arī uzmeistaroja man plenēra molbertu, ko lietošu plenēros šovasar. Take care ❤
Robin! Well done for saving the little dunnock. They are such lovely birds. I loved watching you paint and chat it’s very cosy and inspiring. Thank you Kriksis.
Robin! Your videos are intoxicating. I love to paint with them. There is something about your illustrations that are just so inviting and full of personality. Thank you ❤
Robin Robin! I spied a familiar sticker in this video 😉 When I watch your videos Kriksis, and you mention the word "tea", I always have to get a cup of tea in solidarity! Love this video and looking forward to part 2! 🥰
Thank you for kind words Giulia! Yes your pigeon sticker is on bird book sketchbook. How nice to hear that you are drinking teas while watching! :) Part two coming this Wednesday.
Kriksis this is such a beautiful cosy glimpse into your studio ❤ Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful sketches and paintings. Looking forward to the next episode and maybe some robins? 😂
Hi Kirksis, I enjoyed your video it was very relaxing to watch. Loved the birds and rain outside your studio. Just subscribed to your channel. I first heard of you and your art work on Mel Chadwick’s channel. Looking forward to part two of this video! Thank you 😊. Robins ❤ Rita
I loved the lighting in the video, it is so beautiful and so cozy. While I make art, that is, I work, I watch videos, films or series and also listen to music. But sometimes I prefer silence. Thank you for this incredible video, Kriksis. I always watch your videos more than 2 times!❤️ Robin
Robin ♡ Perfect coziness! I love the garment drawing. I listen to music, art videos on youtube or just the tv with the volume really low. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Robin , thank you so much for these videos , they're super entertaining and i just love watching them , they're never boring and i find i have to watch them to the very end , makes me so happy 😊
The plexiglass panel is such a smart idea to change the angle of the paper to work on! I may have to borrow that hack! Thanks! And lovely art as always! 😊
Robin! I loved your cozy video. Especially enjoyed your sketches of dresses and jumpers. 🥰. I noticed your calligraphy skills are getting sharper from all that practice. Yay! Makes me want to practice too…..thanks for sharing. 😊
I LOVE the Harry Potter audio books! I've re-listened to the Prisoner of Azkaban too many times to count. But I also love listening to podcasts when I'm making art. OR watching cozy vlogs like this! 💖
Robin! Robins love mealworms, you can buy a pot of live ones at Pets at Home and other garden centres/pet stores. You really will have them coming in the window then ❤🪶
Love your videos. Thank you. I do not listen to anything when I have the rare time to do art. I have kids running around and interrupting me all the time and can barely get an hour in to create. I get slightly envious when I see artists have full freedom to create without interruption. I never really see artist with my lifestyle and I guess it makes sense, they would not even have time to edit a video lol
Thank you for sharing this all! I want to have children at some point so will see how the content will change then, maybe less edited videos will be the way to go. Enjoy the moments with your children and all the best in your art making journey.
Hi Kriksis, I enjoyed a lot your lovely vlog! I must ask you tiny favor....I'm totally in love with a piece of music you added at 18:39 when you were swatching dots of paintings in the evening... Would you be so nice to write a title or author or anything for I can find it, please?
i was going to ask you if you were a knitter because of the sweaters you wear..... and you answered my question at the end with the sweater drawings. do you work from patterns or do you make up the design? btw the last two spreads were my absolute favorite. just gorgeous.
Thank you for your kind comment! I use other peoples patterns but I sometimes modify. :) I made colour work cardigan where I changed colour work completely and have one jumper in the making which is plain circular yoke but I created my own colour work on top.
Robin ;) you are the Queen of choosing the music to go along with the light, the mood, the artwork… your videography is a art in itself!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
