Hyrule Warriors is a fun adventure through the lore of "The Legend of Zelda." The story combines elements from many of the Zelda games, bringing back a lot of series favorites and even introducing some interesting new characters. The gameplay is ripped straight from the Dynasty Warriors, so if you like that franchise, you'll love Hyrule Warriors. The combat can get repetitive, since there is not much difficulty in the fights. The graphics are beautiful though, and some of the best on the Wii U. The story is a really good, but unfortunately there is still no voice acting in the Zelda franchise. You're going to have to read the entire story, but if you're a dedicated Zelda fan, you'll love it.
I made sure to add some of the dialogue during gameplay sequences, even though it's all text, just to make sure you know what's going on. As always, I added relevant gameplay, dialogue and cutscenes to create one fluid story. This game is a little hard to edit, so there are no natural transitions into cutscenes, but nonetheless, this is an excellent game movie. Thanks for adding the dialogue from the gameplay- it does help us understand the story. As I have no Wii U myself, this is the only way to really immerse myself in it, for the sake of theorizing and whatnot. Despite the claims of it being non-canon, the game has moments that seem to imply it being after Twilight Princess, but some characters seem aware of the timeline split too- though not fully aware of what happens in said splits. It explains why Impa's never heard of Sheik- she ony existed
in the Adult Timeline.
Personally I quite like it- I'm not done with the video yet (I'm at the Palace of Twilight atm). I don't have the same complaints as others about Cia and Lana- I think Cia's succumbing to her deadly sins is a reasonable moment of weakness, and thus her self-imposed sexualization is perfectly well justified. She and Lana have an interesting back story that already ties in a bit with a previous theory I had about the Goddess of Time, and despite peoples cries of them not being original, I thought it was. A story written by a team other than the Zelda team turned out pretty good. I'm still looking into the whole Gate of Souls thing. To me, given Lana's ability to summon the Gate of Time, the Gate of Souls seems to be quite literally its evil twin. The Gate of Time is made presumably of Timeshift Stones, so the Gate of Souls must have a similar time warping stone in it.
As for the terraforming from the Gate of Souls, here's my take. When Death Mountain is brought in, it's fairly early into Adult Link's journey as Ruto and Darunia have not gone to their temples yet. For Twilight Princess it could be some point before Zant is killed, but given the presence of Twili Midna in the upcoming Legends DLC, perhaps post game. Shouldn't be too hard to bring Zant back from the dead. And for Skyward- given the fact that the Goddess and Master Sword are now existing simultaneously, also very early into the Adventure as the sword hasn't even been removed from the pedestal yet.

They're talking about how Link ends up as Zelda's partner and will not be ending up with Lana, as seen at times when Zelda talks/encourage/praise Link, Lana gets a little flustered or awkward. Lesson as in, in life, you will not be with the Hero (or knight in shining armor) that you've been crushing on (the sorceress that's been keeping an eye on the legendary hero or ages). But in the end he will end up happy, and that's all it matters.

Visuals are amazing, but the story sucked. Especially the ending. It's like they rushed it. I would've liked to see Ganondorf revive Majora's Wrath. Just to give it that creepy feeling that most Zelda games lack now.

Majora's Mask at the very least is going to have a DLC with two playable characters; TP will also be getting another character before that.

I kind of wish we got to see the Links from the different timelines. It seems that in Hyrule the Hero of Time is probably the most revered and legendary.

You do realize that this is just the equivalent of "Link's Crossbow Training" for the Wii, right? They're working on an actual "Legend of Zelda" game for release in 2015. This game was made partially just to hold off hungry fans.
This game is made by the Dynasty Warriors CO, not Nintendo. Annnd Nintendo has stated that they are working on a new Zelda game! (So no worries.)

I fear that the squeaks and grunts that proceed every dialogue box as well as the overall nature of Lana may be the turning point for this franchise. I can say honestly that if these tropes continue into future iterations, I'm one of many fans who will irreversibly turned away from these games. It is sad to think a game series that produced this took so long to establish such a fine internalized feel can now join the cavalcade of generic shlock. Lets hope the new generation of Nintendo developers don't despoil every other classic game, but then again, the last Metroid game seems to be hard evidence of this wretched tendency.

pretty good story, but some loop holes. First off why was the black smoke there at the end when Ganon was annihilated by the Triforce? How come no Lana never fixed Midna? TWICE she forgot that and I know Midna wouldn't have, she basically had a whole game to herself and Link about that, she never let you hear the end of it once it came out. Another thing why does the evil Cia and Lana not recombine and make one Hot good sorceress? So Zelda doesn't have competition?! Then never mind the tiny little detail that Lana just GAVE UP at the end when she could have just have easily gone with Zelda and Link to put the master sword up nothing was preventing her from doing so but herself.
Overall I thought this was a very well made game, the storyline except for a few "da fuk" moments aside which I can easilly attribute to Japanese storytelling because GOD DAMN IT JAPAN. 8/10, I'm actually dissaponted with some stuff they really could have done differently but overall extreme happy with how the game seamless combined my favorite games from the past Zelda titles.
Oh yeah, I agree. The story was ok for a beat-em-up, but didn't compare at all to _any_ story of the LoZ franchise. Not surprising, since it's a beat-em-up, but still saddening for the opportunity lost. The characters go OOC every other second and don't actually seem like independent characters half the time; they're just there to say "friendship conquers all" and obey blatant plot devices. Well, Lana is mean to be an observer and she is pretty much eternal so is no point to risk the entiry world for a crush.
The Cia/Lana thing is like Majin Buu from DBZ, in some point of the saga Buu split himself into good and evil, and destroying the evil Boo doesn't affect the good one.

Thank christ this game isn't canon otherwise it'd be raw, unadulterated, blasphemous sacrilege. The writing is utter horse shit. Literally the only thing good about this game are the graphics and the callbacks to Zelda 1 (what? NO AQUAMENTUS? WHAT THE SHIT). The music is okay. The sound effects are stupid. All the fucking red moblin enemies (I don't even know what the fuck they're called because Nintendo is lazy. Moblins, Bulblins, Bokoblins, Ramens, jesus Aounuma don't quit your day job) are a travesty. They just sit there waiting to get caught in the spazzy blender that is Link. If this is any indication of the standards for a Dynasty Warriors game, jesus. No wonder it's not a thing in the US.

As much as I want to hate on you for saying that, I both agree and disagree at the same time. I love the Dynasty Warriors games for the fun of hack-and-slash mania and the tactics of maneuvering the battlefield. Yes, the enemies are fairly stupid and easy to defeat, but the bosses are (normally) harder to defeat and more fun to fight. That said, though, I do greatly prefer the battles in canon Zelda games, especially Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, as you have to exploit weaknesses and use your repertoire of fighting moves to succeed. All of that and I STILL would like the fighting to be more difficult. Make us need to use every fighting skill Link learns in TP - make us need to roll, side-jump, backflip, parry, leap, dive, and implement dozens of cool fighting maneuvers. Allow us to choose to specialize in certain fighting styles and level up our moves in each style. And, of course, even more weak point exploitation and even smarter A.I.
