Beautiful Scalpay James! Well presented as usual. I’ve had two Firth of Clyde trips from Carrickfergus this summer. The second took me to the Kyles of Bute. Had a stunning voyage back from Campeltown to Carrickfergus. Next year, the Hebrides!

Looks like an interesting place. I took a look on Google earth and there's also a Scalpay of the se corner of Skye maybe it's an old Gaelic word for a small island 🤷. I've just been re-watching your trip to the Spanish Rias as I'm going to be doing that shortly 👍
Sailing Moon Shadow aww I didn’t know that about the name.interesting. Aww your of to sunny Spain. If your down that way visit the Atlantic islands you won’t be disappointed.
@@Skipperjames yeah. My boat is currently in western Brittany and there's about 12 sailing days to La Culatra (Faro) if I go direct from Camaret to Gijon so should have time for some sightseeing on the way down 👍
Is there any good books about some of the remote anchorages and ports. Getting my boat 11th. Looking to sail 3 months in winter round the west coast solo 30 ft boat.
gordon duncan tbh I haven’t checked any books I have just used charts and navionics ...the west coast is a wild place in the winter but I’m sure you will be fine in the inner Hebrides plenty of places to hide. I bet your excited and can’t wait to get the boat.
