I (a german lass😊) have travelled all around the world. And although the Hawaiian Beaches i've seen where nice, nothing can compare to Luskentyre. That has been the most stunning and beautiful beach i've ever been. I did a trip some years ago from Barra (whith loganair landing on the beach) to the Uists and then to Harris and Lewis. That was the best trip i ever made!!! I visited basicly every place that Steve did in the previous Video. So many memories...❤❤❤
Don’t know if any of you have ever visited arisaig? I went camping there with my friend when I was 20 and I adored it, great bay for fishing, canoeing , just down the road from mallaig , really beautiful
I've said it before and I will say it again Scotland has some of the finest views in the world and as diverse as you could wish for, many thanks for taking us along it was pure enjoyment every minute of the journey, until next time stay safe and well, cheers from Oz.
Steve... Yes the Golden Road story is true...I have visited Lewis and Harris every year twice a year for 10 years for 3 week stays each time with my boyfriend whose Mum & family are from Lewis...seen many other Isles and St.Kilda 😍 Love The Outer Hebrides 🌊🌅❤🌄🌊 I used to cry on the ferry home (full grown woman in here 50s 😂)
Thanks for another great Video Steve. And for those people watching, I just have to add one thing. As Steve has said before a camera or video cannot possibly capture the truly awe-inspiring beauty of the colour of the beaches, the sea and the size of the mountains besides them. So many beaches on South Harris have views which cannot be described. You HAVE to experience them to understand. There's a small coffee shop/cafe near the southerly point of Harris where you can sit outside at the end of a loch ( if I remember correctly) with mountains rising out from both sides of the loch. It truly is heaven on earth!
A lovely series of videos Steve, thank you. Thanks to Donald John also for giving us an insight into the making of Harris Tweed, with views like this from his workplace I would spend many a happy hour there. I do hope that there are future generations learning so that this beautiful tweed, craft and tradition is kept going on the isle where it belongs. Cheers.
@@madr309 There's one or two little things Donald says which makes me suspect he prefers to speak Gaelic, at least when talking about the tweed and machinery.
What can I say? I was there with you: in the car looking over the dash, the driving noises on different road surfaces, the sun in my face, the sand under my feet, the birds singing, the smell of the Tweed, the gentle waves around my ankles. It always feels like you are talking to ME, I forget about the other thousands of fellow viewers. By the way: what are you planning to celebrate the next milestone? At 30k you wore a kilt and looked smashing. Dancing a reel? Playing the bagpipe? Tossing the caber? Maybe at 200k, gives you time for training 😅
What a beautiful place! That beach is perfect. Lovely to see a master of his craft at work too, what a legend. My Tuesday is all the better for your video. Cheers Steve
Hate this place. Not a tree in sight. Completely turned me off your passion for a dead place. You should include encouraging reforestation instead of the dead silence of nothing.
@@mf19856 Read up on the history and geography of these islands and you will have a better understanding of why there are very few trees. They are far from dead.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The Outer Hebrides are one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. There are no forests because the climate does not support their growth. The people are lovely and I can’t wait to go back!
Hi Steve. The Golden Road is a ridiculously stunning drive, with a fantastic coffee stop at Skoon Gallery, Geocrab. Harris is indeed the jewel of the outer Hebrides. The world’s best beaches. Fabulous to see the Harris Tweed workshop. 👏👏👍😀
That was a wonderful trip and so well filmed and produced. Harris looks unbeatable in that sunshine. The landscape and beaches are so beautiful, I would love to visit again. When I was there in the 70s and 80s I remember seeing small piles of Harris tweed by the roadside outside the crofts. It was awaiting collection and left out in all weathers, I suppose a drenching of rain would do no harm. I never did see it being woven, thanks for showing that. As an Englishman there is nowhere I would be than the Highlands and Islands so thanks for showing them at their very best.
The colour and clarity of the water is just incredible. Brave man having a paddle. Randomly, Greg (as a Canadian postie) is always happy seeing his Royal Mail counterparts in the background of your videos. And enquiring minds want to know what you bought in the charity shop. Lol. Have a great week!
Honestly, you have to see a Western Isles beach on a fine day to believe it! You captured it really well! Loved this series - thanks for transporting me back there 🙏
The wife & I drove up from portsmouth in an old rover estate 15 odd years ago via Liverpool, sky, uig, took the ferry to lewis, later we drove up to luskentyre beach! After onto Harris! We departed via Stornaway. when getting back to the mainland we headed east over to Dornoch The trip was just amazing!
Great! Thanks for taking us along, I now feel like I have the mental stamina to manage today's 8 hour shift driving buses around Bradford... daydreaming about my next trip to Scotland.
Marvellous scenery and a glorious beach. The visit to the tweed maker was very interesting. Gosh, he must have the strongest legs in Scotland, powering his loom as he does!
Wow! Luskintyre beach deffo must get the vote for most beautiful beach in the world. What a setting! The whole island is just amazing. Wonderful video Steve. 😎👍
Great video Steve! It took me back to my young days in 1984 when I toured Lewis and Harris on public transport. Took the train to Inverness, the bus to Ullapool, the ferry to Stornoway, buses around Lewis and Harris then the ferry to Uig, the bus to Kyleakin, the ferry to Kyle and the train back from there. It was a great trip. I remember being on the bus coming from Callanish and the driver flagged down the Tarbert bus so I could get off, run across the road and get on - out in the wilds somewhere near Leurbost. Took a bit of planning in those days - no google maps, internet or mobiles - just timetables, paper maps and a 'Freedom of Scotland' travel pass. Enjoy your Harris Whisky 🥃 Cheers! 😊
Steve, I can't help thinking that if you'd been able to go to St. Kilda, we would have missed this fantastic tour--possibly your best to date. I loved every minute of it. And I'm sure that when you finally get to St. Kilda, it will have been worth waiting for. Meanwhile, thanks for this visual feast.

Is loved watching the man weaving! I've really enjoyed all of your videos about Scotland. I just took my first trip ever there with my daughter, rented a car and went all kinds of places and had a wonderful time. (Except we're American and driving was terrifying at times😅)Scotland and it's people will stay with me forever.
What fantastic views of Harris…the beach and its approach road reminded me of Western Ireland (the Links beach) wow!!! I have always loved Scotland (in my heritage) and its rugged landscapes but had no idea of how beautiful Lewis and Harris were…a trip for next year perhaps. Thank you Steve for a wonderful virtual trip !
I first started watching your channel on my laptop before progressing to watching your videos along with my wife on our Smart TV, Steve. This time round, I would certainly recommend the latter with its larger screen, to get the most out of the views of that magnificent landscape that you brilliantly captured in this video. Fair cheered us up given the current inclement weather here in Scotland. Just a pity Alicja missed out on that occasion.
Hi Steve, thank you so much for bringing Harris back to us. We were married on Northton beach 5 years ago. We've not been back as yet, but you've certainly made us want to go back after seeing your videos 🩵 We've thoroughly enjoyed watching... Looking forward to seeing the Canadian island.... 🤔
Seeing Luskentyre beach again on your video has allowed me to compare it with the beaches on the island of Sanday in Orkney which we've just left today and I reckon Sanday has it by a way as every one of its beaches is absolutely stunning. I have yet to visit a Scottish island that isn't beautiful and we've now visited most of them. A truly amazing country.
What a beautiful beach and the water was so clear. Too bad it wasn't a tad warmer. Just watching YOU drive on those very narrow roads gives me anxiety, lol. Another stellar video Steve.
It's so neat to watch you go pretty much everywhere we went while on the island. We found that same deli and hit it a few times for those steak pies. They are wonderful!
Luskentyre is also my favourite beach and I spent an August bank holiday on it having a picnic and I shared it with friends and another couple walking their dog. If it was on the mainland or in the Med it would be spoiled. You were probably there at the right time before the midge made an appearance. You did have some great weather and a very calm crossing although that crossing is a lot calmer than the Ullapool route generally.
Brilliant Steve. Thanks for taking us back to Luskintyre in the sunshine. It was cold and windy when we visited, just a few days before you. The weather was however very kind to us, as we did manage to get to St Kikda on 23rd April. So sorry you didn't make it this time. 😢🐕🚙
I’ve just read Patrick Grant’s book Less and Donald John is mentioned. It was great to actually see him working and making such a quality product in quality surroundings. What a beautiful place Harris is, thanks for sharing
Your videos are getting better and better. This one was awe inspiring. Especially the beach shots. Your relaxed style is a breath of fresh air on YT. Keep them coming!
That moment of yours reminds me of stopping along the A93 between Perth and Braemar. The silence within the scope of the landscape was deafening and beautiful. We still recall that moment from years ago with the phrase, "the quietest place in the world". Thanks for taking us along to Harris/Lewis Steve!
Steve, I hope you go back to Spain and explore more of the towns/cities in the north like San Sebastian, Bilbao, A Coruna, Oviedo but also the south with Cadiz, Malaga, Almeria, Murcia and Alicante. I really enjoy your calm, laid back style that you use. Many travel vloggers are always looking for the chaos and can be over the top. I am an explorer so just seeing you walk through sometimes mundane streets or neighborhoods is quite relaxing and what I love to do. You never know what you will find around the next corner. Keep up the great work and hopefully see you back in Spain!
Cheers Steve. I’m bookmarking some of these amazing places you show when I do a road trip up to the Highlands. Luskentyre beach can hold its own to anywhere in the world 👍

Hard to believe that beach is in Scotland! It looks so warm! My favourite is Praia Felix in Ubatuba, Brazil.
Loved this wee series! Brings back memories. When the weather is nice there genuinely is no place like it! Even in the BD weather it's pretty nice.
Brilliant Steve. Thanks for taking us back to Luskintyre in the sunshine. It was cold and windy when we visited, just a few days before you. The weather was however very kind to us, as we did manage to get to St Kikda on 23rd April. So sorry you didn't make it this time. 😢🐕🚙
Another brilliant video Steve. Reminds me of the wonderful holiday I enjoyed with my beloved Gwen from Texas!
How I miss this beach definitely the best❤ thank you for the memory jog. 😊
Hi Steve Paul from Kent what a lovely place and the fantastic views Scotland is a lovely place especially the islands take care
Thanks for taking us to Harris, very scenic journey & great weather - can't wait for the next one !
Llanes was fantastic!
It sounds so nice especially hereing the birds chirping away
Thanks Steve, for completing your trip for us to see. The Island was beautiful to see and completes your trip.

Cheers Steve. I’m bookmarking some of these amazing places you show when I do a road trip up to the Highlands. Luskentyre beach can hold its own to anywhere in the world 👍
