The "gentleman" at the time at the helm of a radar Mino (usually I ask my team Mino if is radar or smoke) requested support which I happily provided with my DD (either the Gearing or the Shima). Going to C cap I spot the Smaland, lay a smoke screen at full speed to keep the Smaland spotted and provide cover for the Mino that is already close to the island above the C cap. Nobody can spot him. I drop speed because the Smaland is tearing me a new one. I can't see him anymore so Smaland goes radar. I get gunned down whilst Mr. Jedi doesn't do ANYTHING. No one single shell fired, no radar, no nothing. After I'm dead, he pops his radar and kills the Smaland from behind my smoke screen. And no, it was already over 2 minutes when we started the sharade with the Smaland so he had his radar available for sure. No other ships contesting C. The Cuniberti did a good job of illustrating why you don't want to upgrade the guns on Italian DD's. With those boats, you want to get a salvo or two in, get the red DD to shoot at you, then turn and run. If he chases you, he's dead from your team. If he doesn't, he's lit up until he gets 9+km away. If he smokes himself, he smokes you too, and guess what, you can blind-fire into his smoke without getting counterspotted.
I think choosing between Huron and Haida is the same as choosing between Daring and Vampire II. Daring and Huron can sustain because of their heals, which makes them able to be slightly angrier DDs, whereas Haida and Vampire II can't heal so have to be a little more cautious and make use of their superior stealth to pick and choose engagements. I also find with the crawling smoke, because it has such a long action time and cooldown, you have to be super selective with using it, so often I play Haida almost as if she has no smoke and use her amazing stealth as my 'cover'. Plus, we're talking about Tribal's here; historically the angriest class of destroyers ever built (USS Johnston aside), and it's the same in game, so a Tribal without a smoke screen is basically playing fair. And given that Cossack and Haida are brutally powerful at their respective tiers, (Jervis, the 'baby-Tribal' J-Class is hardly weak either!) I would say that's reflected in game. I've just obtained Huron in the Dockyard and I adore both Cossack and Haida so I've got high hopes that Huron is just as fun.
