I remember being 19 and heading "home" to my new apartment far away from my family after having had yet another falling out with them over my poor behaviour, listening to this song on repeat. I was the "angry son" and I knew it, knew I was in the wrong, but felt so betrayed and abandoned I couldn't reconcile those feelings. So I attempted suicide as soon as I got back to my apartment. I ended up in a psych ward for three months, but my family still took me back with open arms. They understood I was "angry* and they just wanted to help. This song always has made me cry since then. I was a victim of myself and my own mentality, yet those I cursed stood by me. Love one another.
I am just getting into Indian Summer, and I honestly love the raw emotion from his voice. Their guitaring is also simple but load and heavy, and mix that with the soft riffs. So many emotions coming together. This isn't music, this is art.
@@alexuturgaidze5722 I do. Im from seattle so I listen to SDRE on the daily. And ive been into Rites of Spring since the 9th grade. Im just saying Indian Summer is very underated compared to most old school emo bands.
It's so awesome that Numero Group put out the Indian Summer vinyl compilation this year. It contains all 10 songs they ever did and they sound better than before.
i watch this every so often and dream of being there as they perform. magical, rare stuff. wish scenes like this were still around, or maybe they are, and i don't know where they are.
Scenes like this are still around! Very much so. There are tons of great "screamo" bands on both coasts of the US, throughout Canada, Southeast Asia, Japan, Mexico, etc. It's honestly amazing how active this scene is. Idk if you've heard of labels like Zegema Beach Records, Middle-Man Records, React with Protest, i.corrupt, etc., but I'd recommend checking those out to get a sense of the music that's currently being made in this vein.
@skinny from the south Sorry for the late reply! Hmm, well as far as LA is concerned, some of the more prominent bands in the scene ("prominent" being very relative haha) are Quiet Fear, Ghost Spirit, Nuvoluscura, and Curtains. There are also some great bands in the bay area (Hawak, Elle, Stormlight). Admittedly, I'm not from the West Coast, so my knowledge of those scenes is a bit limited at the moment. I'm sure there are way more bands floating around! I'd definitely start with those those though.
This has been one of my favorite songs in the world for almost 30 years now, and I am incredibly grateful to the og poster for putting this footage up💜🙏
It's weird to see this band blowing up these days but back then no one paid attention including me. I just thought they were just another emo band that came and went. Amazing how you look back at broken up bands and see how amazing and influential they were.
Glad to one day call this my classic rock, honestly surprised on how old this is thought the craziest shit I knew was subhumans back then. Lived in SoCal my whole life and took me a while to discover this scene, couldn’t be anymore happier....just realized that’s a KSPC banner
Fxck! This type of music already exists in the early '90s? I know there were older emo bands, but this is different! I thought Skramz started mid or late 90s, but whatever this is sick! 🖤🖤
to a large extent the peak of this style was in '93/'94... Ordination of Aaron, Current, Embassy, Julia, Franklin, Native Nod, Evergreen, & many others.

This song is so desperate yet so powerful.
it’s not a desperate song. it’s a song of conquering.

I wish I could have seen them play live.
