More than just the glacier melts, China seems quite intent on damming up the “source streams”. This is a relatively small amount of water that gets diverted but that would almost definitely make the rivers that they feed monsoon dependent. But rainwater is fast-running. It runs into the sea so fast that about 2-3 days after a major storm, you’re left dry. This is why rainwater harvesting is an important step. We build major buildings long before we think of drainage and sewage. This is a problem in most cities. Then, the temple tanks and lakes that were a natural way to recharge the groundwater table have been encroached.

On the other hand, there are the problems of pollution. The major issue is also that no way or system presently exists to “replenish” natural resources. You can plant seeds and grow trees if you have sufficiently receptive soil and access to water, particularly freshwater. In many mountainous regions, landslides occur more due to deforestation because nothing holds the top soil in place. Similarly, depletion of soil and resultant drought occurs in more fertile lands due to excess farming because there is nothing to naturally arrest the flow of water. But when it comes to mines, no method exists today to create new veins of metals or returning excess metals to the earth. The byproducts like slag is another problem. Activism can draw attention to these problems. But you need concrete solutions and investment in long-term research to bring out real lasting solutions. Ladakh is less fertile than Kashmir mostly because much of the water is brackish. It’s essentially a desert valley surrounded by mountains, not unlike Afghanistan. But because of the mountains, it’s mineral rich. This is one thing you need to work with.
Bengaluru was once called the "city of lakes"...my father used to say that they were more than 1500+ lakes in bengaluru but because of overpopulation and ground water exploiting now bengaluru has ran out of water

Agree. The government passed so many back to back tenders for construction in an already congested area of Bangalore, gave go-ahead of cutting down so many trees. It's not the development they were after, coz it's clearly not a planned development. They just wanted the benefit of taxes with the higher inflow of people and companies.
Yes Karnataka govt shall make policy for work from home and regulate and see all sez and builders adhere to rainwater harvesting. Stop any further construction in Bangalore and o new companies offices in Bangalore Instead have them somewhere else in Karnataka. I'm from Bengaluru, currently studying in Dharwad! Believe me bro, Bengaluru is about to touch 39 C and I'm sweltering here at just 34 C! I can't believe this is happening, may God save the city!
Why should GOD save the City.. Has God told us to do so much concretization. It's we humans only can Save the city and nation. We humans are getting so much GREEDY day by day.. and what we are giving to future generation is just Buildings, Money. and spoiled necessities like Water crisis, food with harmful chemicals... and what we are filling pockets of doctors, builders, Governments..
Govt. Should give mandatory instructions to companies for making work from home compulsory so that outsiders don't come and settle down in metro cities and use their resources.

Ladakh is safe bro Don't take tension And we can't fulfill the 6th schedule demand to laddakh and if you want to know the reason behind it then go to the Constitution book and read the 6th schedule properly. After applying the 6th Schedule in ladakh, we have to take local government permission to go there, like visa, and for better understanding read inner line Permit. After applying the 6th schedule CAA will not implement there And many more reasons behind it for not granting 6th schedule to laddakh And we can't do now because of border tension with China.
Solutions 1. Rain water harvesting 2. Artificial ponds 3. Afforestation 4. Canal system 5. Proper drainage system 6. Water treatment plant and usage of retreated water 7. Avoid water waste 8. Encourage about water crisis
Few years ago I bought a small 25 rupees pipe that connects my RO with a bucket underneath used to collect the waste water. Since then we save at least 1-2 buckets of water on a daily basis that's over 600 buckets and thousands of litres of water every single year! All of this just for Rs. 25 , it's amazing how we can save our resources with the smallest gestures and cheapest of stuff. We only need the initiative and the mindset to save our resources ❤
Happy to see this..... Meanwhile I also do the same since last 1 year... I know it late but before that i was uning no storage water purifier ... And here m requesting everyone watching this or not... Do this trick.... You will can feel the happiness of not wasting too much of usable water❤
I am from bengaluru and trust me when i say this, we have never seen a water shortage of this magnitude ever before It is far more serious than what it is projected to be Bengaluru has been on a decline the past few years with more and more people coming in from outside Constructing huge buildings on lakebeds , rampant increase in pollution , deforestation this is completely a collective fault from the people and the government we have already stopped washing our vehicles , and taking a bath has now become a luxury. Tankers are extremely expensive and come by once a week. So we have to ensure the water lasts for an entire week. Sincere request to all bangaloreans and rest of India this is a serious serious warning sign from mother nature and if we dont judiciously use our resources and stop harming our environment forget our future generations even our present generations will cease to exist
Govt. Should give mandatory instructions to companies for making work from home compulsory so that outsiders don't come and settle down in metro cities and use their resources.

I'm from BENGALURU but now live in England for 10 years. I've seen water depleting in BENGALURU. Primary cause is greediness and not following building codes. In England, homes are built with mandatory garden area that is 55% of the plot. No home is allowed to have borewell, only supply from water company is allowed. If there is no rain for 6 to 8 weeks, government will declare drought which means no watering in garden or washing vehicles. None if this is followed in India. In a 60x40 plot, people build small apartment complex with 10 houses, where will the water come from? There were more than 80 lakes, but now less than 10! It is good that this is happening in BENGALURU, let people suffer for few years. Only then people will wake up atleast now and start conserving water.
In India you can not build houses with 55% garden area. India a country with 2% size of the world hosting 16% of the world population. India is a country of entire Europe population with just 1/8th of the size of europe. So better to think for rain water harvesting and rain water pits, and water recycling
@anirudhya110 this is wrong information. UK is almost the size of Karnataka with almost same population. Don't give population of India as a reason. You need people to be not so greedy and Government that is not that corrupt! I'm sure that our grandparents generation were not so greedy and made BENGALURU a garden city.
@@tararanganath9378 do you stay in London? Can london afford to build homes with 55% garden? Size of london 1570sq km, population 0.89million, where as Bengaluru is just 740 sq km with 1.3million people. So you should not compare size and population of city (bengaluru), with an entire (country), because population density matters
I am resident of Pune, and we are just 1-2 years from Bangaluru like situation, but the local bodies are blind folded and have accepted that they are not going to act until we reach our graves. The very necessary and urgent act is to have strict policies , with consequences. Today Pune is converting into concrete jungle, none of the builders are concerned about the issue is water table, nor the government. Making rain water harvesting mandatory is the first utmost important task. Secondly, creating artificial ponds throughout the city. And tree plantation are the requirement of the hour.

Finally someone was serious about the situation thanks abhi and niyu. I was living in bangalore from 3 years but i saw the worst water crises first time. All borewell are dried up. After rain the situation can be better.
I too am a migrated individual to bengaluru. I am here from almost 4 years now. This is the highest temperature I have ever felt. Even the rains used to be an identity of Bengaluru. I remember I had to use warm water for bathing but now, things have suddenly changed after failed monsoons. Really worrind about where we as humans are heading to. As of now we dont have any water problem due to borewell but i had seen digging and heavy mining machines on roads itself for getting water out. This summer is going to be troublesome. Till we get monsoon rains, we have to find solutions and think about mother nature, keeping our greed aside(in any form). I hope we learn a lesson from this situation.
This was the same state when there were no rains in 2000s during SM Krishna govt. all these years there was good rain but because of drought it has happened also the amount of people residing as increased a lot .
The issue in Bengaluru is all the new high rise towers are being constructed on Lake areas, couple of years back there was an empty patch opposite to Varthur lake and now I see some prestige construction big building is coming... I think similarly a lot of Lakes have converted to Highrise apartments because of which the rain water is wasted. Don't understand how come Govt is approving such projects, its high time to think about it.
@user-SkmBeats Then I think there should be an exam to become a minister not only votes. As elections are near I don't understand whom to vote. Forget about Congress or bjp whoever comes will the govt focus on such issues? What I can see is they all are money-minded just collecting high taxes & giving us(middle/lower class people) what? Will govt actually address middle-class people's issues? I don't mind if a minister is 10th fail or uneducated if he/she is good then they should be elected. But it's hard to find one. I think we should implement something like cibil score for ministers if they have fewer scores get lost, if they need to increase do good things😅. Just to add before Congress, BJP only ruled Karnataka bro what they did to solve these issues? Both BJP & Congress are just f**king corrupt politicians. Finally, only one concept holds good "Rich become richer & poor become poorer".
In India even thumb impressions of illiterate goons can become ministers. Here , the state govt is run by such ministers who do not know how to talk in English only.

You told everything but missed the simple fact that - water must not be free. 99% Indians don’t pay for water and hence the lax attitude towards water conservation. As long as the builders take shortcut of not installing water meters to save on plumbing costs this will happen always. That has to be dealt with a different way. That problem there in Ladakh is due to poor water transportation which leads to poor agricultural output, hence poor revenue generation. Tourism is the only way they earn, and that also during seasons. To facilitate tourism huge infra projects are underway in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Ladakh region, which will of course tamper with natural environment. And it's not a new issue there, it has been like that for years. Same is in Northeast sector also..... But atleast these project facilitates in generating better revenue for them. Better road access, more demand of Hotel chains and stays, more tourists, and which needs more power, electrical power which will not only help generating revenue but also good education too.....

The problem with videos people post on certain crisis is that complaining and talking about issues is easy because it gives us a momentary outlet for frustration. When something's wrong, letting off steam feels cathartic, even if it doesn't fix the problem. Complaining requires less critical thinking than finding a solution. Commiserating with others over a shared problem builds a sense of community, but it might not lead to action. Remember: Solution-finding is a skill. Thus we won't have food and water scarcity if we just put enough trees in the river basin.* *Better solution which is more beneficial to farmer also is that* *1) Farmer should shift from agriculture to Agroforestry.* *2)Government should give subsidy to farmers for first 5 years of shifting from Agriculture to Agroforestry.* *3) This will increase Farmers income by 3-4 times and government tax collection from farmers will also increase. Ladakh is less fertile than Kashmir mostly because much of the water is brackish. It’s essentially a desert valley surrounded by mountains, not unlike Afghanistan. But because of the mountains, it’s mineral rich. This is one thing you need to work with.

Agree. The government passed so many back to back tenders for construction in an already congested area of Bangalore, gave go-ahead of cutting down so many trees. It's not the development they were after, coz it's clearly not a planned development. They just wanted the benefit of taxes with the higher inflow of people and companies.

I am from bengaluru and trust me when i say this, we have never seen a water shortage of this magnitude ever before
It is far more serious than what it is projected to be
Bengaluru has been on a decline the past few years with more and more people coming in from outside
Constructing huge buildings on lakebeds , rampant increase in pollution , deforestation this is completely a collective fault from the people and the government
we have already stopped washing our vehicles , and taking a bath has now become a luxury.
When corruption is at its peak what could be done by corrupt ministers who all are busy making money for themselves. If 40 or 50 lakhs only IT employees leave Bangalore then what will be the situation just imagine.
@@varunsharma8618I agree with you that Bangalore IT companies can do that work from home hybrids no need to relocate. But , Some people are sitting at a higher level and won't let it happen.

Corruption at peak in india
In India you can not build houses with 55% garden area. India a country with 2% size of the world hosting 16% of the world population. India is a country of entire Europe population with just 1/8th of the size of europe. So better to think for rain water harvesting and rain water pits, and water recycling
@anirudhya110 this is wrong information.
England has its own challenges Just like Bangalore - high inflation, lesser jobs , high crime rate , racism , hooliganism - features of England

No video on ladakh but focussing on bangalore water crisis shows your love for a particular party and selective outrage of news
Plus no video on Electoral Bonds too as it may expose their employer - BJP😂😅

Which Ladakh you talking about on Ladakh they all are not units each other then why you demand to them make video
People need to realise how important rain water harvesting is. Government compels it or not. It doesn't even cost much. If you can't do it big atleast direct the terrace water into your ground water borewells. All it takes is some pipe and filters.
It makes a world of difference over 5-10 years if everyone does it.
Not just Bengaluru. Every Indian must realise this and take it seriously and implement it immediately.
Abhi Ladakh ka bhi same haal kar raha hai Govt. Isliye Sonam Wnagchuk ji and ladkah wasi climate fast kar rahe hai

I'm fan of Abhi and niyu. I watch every videos, really these are very educational.
People are saying this about Modi's RUclips channel and I really feel bad for that.
Also I don't have any argument point about that. Why Abhi and niyu isn't posting about Electrol Bond. This is really vital topic and we have to know about Electrol Bond, we want to learn from him, his explanation understands everthing
Because electoral bond was not a scam. It was legal in every sense.
Have you ever seen them criticising the current Govt?
What you are doing is the same as others but you are doing in a smoother way 😂
First ask your Germany abbu to make a video on sandeshkali

The biggest problem is that the people take rural areas as nothing but urban areas as the place of success. We need to change our definition of the Rural areas as it has its own benefits...
Connect all the rivers from eachother by canals and big pipelines through which we can minimise the drainage of water which flows to seas and oceans.
I just love yoru content,,,and both of you tooo❤❤
In Bengaluru City face water crisis, it only happens by climate change and misuse of water in industry....so Silicon valley (Bengaluru) is lack of water 😢
Awesome video, short, crispy and to the point..
Thanks for making this much needed video and practical solutions ❤❤
I hope you will make the next video on Ladakh. 👍👍

It's a much more productive use of your energy than just complaining!
You guys are doing really great job of educating people on climate change and heat waves.
Also, mango tree initiative is a great idea. I shared this video with my family and friends
Rain water harvesting ko mandatory kr dena chahiye or ye group level pe hona chahiye
And filtered water ko 2-3 meters ka hona chahiye ya fir apke ghar kitne area me bana uss according hona chahiye and ghar me 1-2 ped lagana bhi mandatory krna chahiye tbhi aap wha ghar bana skte ho
We must save our Bharat 🇮🇳, Water 💧and Trees 🌳😢
Why you are not making video on Sonam wangchuk ??
He already made it you can search it up

Another problem - everyone wants to come to Bangalore. Not sure who has the solution.
Few things to note down.
Bisleri water bottles available in 10 mins
IPL matches in Bengaluru does not have any water issues.
Golf course in Bengaluru still have no water issues.
Somehow politician owned water tankers are always available, why solve problems when you can earn from it.
No water issues in IT tech parks.
What our government at Bangalore did is
1. They closed all footpath with concrete fully sealed
2. Even big tree at footpath is concrete sealed.
3.People most of them don't want tree in front of their house, because tree will hide their building beauty
4. People construct full site house, no garden plants at home
5. Government doesn't want to leave space in footpath for tree, instead they park cars at all footpath.
That's so true every where in India The same people look in awe when they see greenery in the West
Ladakh ke topic par video aayi nhi, shayad ache khase milte honge

*The average rainfall in Bharat since last 150 years is the same. The problem is not that we are getting less rainfall. We have enough rainfall!!!.*
*The problem is that we aren't able to hold the most of rainwater. So it turns into flood and reach to the sea or ocean. If there are enough trees near the entire river basin then we will hold maximum rainwater and water table will elevate. Soil quality will also improve. Thus we won't have food and water scarcity if we just put enough trees in the river basin.*
*Better solution which is more beneficial to farmer also is that*
*1) Farmer should shift from agriculture to Agroforestry.*
*2)Government should give subsidy to farmers for first 5 years of shifting from Agriculture to Agroforestry.*
*3) This will increase Farmers income by 3-4 times and government tax collection from farmers will also increase. It is win win situation for the Farmers , Government and Ultimately for the nation.*
Save Soil movement
