    Gotta remember that the compressed CO2 in the soda gives a lot of extra boost to the expansion of the liquid.. take out the soda and replace with plain water and you will see noticably more realistic results.

    When my father was the fleet maintenance supervisor at Keeseville, NY Pepsi-Cola, the warehouse guys kept us well-stocked with "breakage". They were always putting cases of soda in his truck. I would say in 1988 or so, we ended up with a three-liter bottle of Diet Cherry Cola Slice. Nobody wanted to be the one to open that damned bottle. So it sat in the cold cellar for about five years... I got to where I couldn't stand to look at it, so I left it in the sun for a while, then shot it with my dad's Ruger Blackhawk. Used a .357 hollow point. It was... interesting...
    I shot it from 20 yards or so, as I knew it was going to be a "Gallagher Concert".

    Be cautious when sourcing ".380 +P" ammo. Unlike .38 special, 9x19, and .45 ACP, there is no SAAMI specification for .380 +P. Because of the lack of a standard, ammo listed as +P can be anywhere from a 5% increase in pressure to double pressure. Be very sure of your gun and be very confident in the manufacturer of the ammo before firing it. Also... please don't use it in any blowback design.
    As for 90gr Speer Gold Dots, you can order them (bullets only) from Midway. You'll still need powder, primer, and brass.

    I would like to make reasonable suggestion: (not sure what state you live in so taking that into consideration here goes) we all seen these test in many channels however we haven't seen what these calibers would do to actual tissue organs. So my suggestion would be to get either beef-pork kidneys or liver then encase it in ballistic gel.
    I think that would be not only a realistic test but it would answer one of the most popular debates out there "STOPPING POWER" 9mm vs 45acp vs .40s&w.
    Also it will be interesting to see what's the difference between all these cartridges.
    Thank you for the video.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  2 года назад +2

      Well I'm not sure about actual organs, but I do plan to eventually shoot big hunks of meat when I can afford such (I think the cost is why most channels don't). And obviously in a self defense scenario, one (typically) is not aiming for the liver or kidney- but I sorta understand why you are requesting those.
      Putting some things in the videos like kidneys or hearts may be a little too gruesome for some viewers, but I don't think liver is too bad considering that's commercially sold in about every grocery store for consumption (unlike hearts and kidneys).
      I did have the idea to submerge meat covered ribs into gel, liver might be a good idea as well. I'll see what I can come up with...

    Thanks for the video, but the bottles were nowhere near centered in the cameras field of view. If anything, the bottles should have been off to the right, since they moved to the left. They were far left and went out of view.

    Is that the 709 slim 9mm 🤔

  • @mikep4811
    @mikep4811 2 года назад +1

    Hmm interesting.. I think the 9mm in both the soda and the watermelon test sprayed backwards.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  2 года назад

      Yup. I believe it's due to it having higher velocity than the others, so it's more "explosive."

    Be honest, you used the orange because the red is terrified of the rimfire's true power.

    Just bought me a Taurus .22 lr pistol is the gun worth it?

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Год назад

      I'd say yeah- it's my favorite .22 pistol and one of my favorite guns overall. You might want to check out the other videos of it though in my .22 playlist, had a few issues with mine that you might want to watch out for. Strong language warning if you watch the review video...

    I hate to point it out since you are a good shot but I was trained to put my thumbs forward towards the target and not crossed the way you shoot. Great video but like someone pointed out you could have used water and drank the soda. Thanks

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  2 года назад

      Soda is more explosive- I'm currently saving up water jugs for another video (recycled fruit punch containers). And I don't like that grip, not as tight and more muzzle rise...
