Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!! This way I can blend everything up and not let my veggies go bad before i am ready to use them. So great!! Arlene (Florida)
This looks GOOD! My family is from New Orleans. This is very similar to the holy trinity blend we use in Creole/Cajun cooking. Our version uses fresh celery, onion and bell pepper. With garlic and green onions added in. We use it to cook just about everything. 😂 I will try out your version as well to use in my Jamaican and Caribbean style dishes. I normally freeze all my fresh seasoning in ziplock bags. But it’s good to know adding salt and vinegar will preserve it in the fridge. Thank you for sharing. 💗

@@TheRainasKitchen so u really used brown sugar in the green seasoning??

How long does it last in the fridge? Or should I keep it in the freezer?
Thank you been wondering about this
How long to store it for? Thanks in advance 🙏🏿
I’m making my green seasoning getting ready for the recipe
Can't wait to try it! Do you have a rice and peas recipe that uses other peas than kidney beans? What about gunga peas?
This is how Haitians make it too.
I thought Haitians were the only one because my Jamaicans friends used to make fun of me when I told them about that
@@quedniajean-charles4088 right same here. Most of my Jamaican friends never did this and still confused when I showed them this.
Ours a tad bit different not quite the same
Because that is the Haitian Epis. I’ve never known Jamaicans to do this, hence why she used the word “Epis”
I'm not an advid cook. So, about how long will it last refrigerated?
You can freeze it.
Raina I’m just biding my time waiting for when you start to make and sell this…please mi ah beg u!!! 🤗
I can’t wait too 😍
I wonder can this be frozen as cubes?
Can you leave it in fridge if so, how long will it last?
I just subscribed to your youtube channel. I follow you on IG and always see your green seasoning. I am making it immediately!! Thanks Raina . :-)
Great! Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Why do you put the iris potatoes in the curry chicken so late? Especially when you are using the white parts of the chicken , that cooks so easily.
Hi. It’s up to you. I don’t like them soft and mushy. Plus I dice them up really small. If you like them big, you can add them sooner.
OMG I’m like 3 months late for this goodness you’ve presented here..😊 I made a batch of your green season recipe yesterday I forgot to ask how long can I store this in the mason jars..or what suggestions do you have..❤️

Hello I love your videos thank you for posting I am not able to find a scotch bonnet pepper anywhere what options do you recommend
You can use habanero peppers.
How long can you store this for ?
How do you add it to rice and peas?
Add 1 -2 tablespoons when cooking rice and peas.
The scotch bonnet seeds included too? I gonna have to tweak that for the rest of household . Maybe one with seed and the other without seed. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Yes! With the seeds is fine. It’s just gives it an extra kick but it won’t over power the other ingredients.
Where did you get a blender I would like to buy one I love yours

How long does it last in the refrigerator
How do you feel about adding parsley and cilantro?
How do you store it, fridge or freezer? And if fridge, how long does it typically last (estimate). I'm trying to determine how much should be made
Hi. Please s Store in the refrigerator. This will last until you finish it because the vinegar preserves it. Thanks
Had the same question. Thank you for asking! (And thanks Raina for answering 🙂)
Can it be bought from you? And do you ever use coconut oil to replace the olive oil? Or clarified butter?
Hi. I don’t recommend using Coconut oil in the green seasoning because coconut oil hardens when cold. I would recommend olive oil or vegetable oil.
Sorry I don’t sell these.☺️
So should the recipe just be halved for a small household version? Love your nail polish btw!
You can always freeze it.

will this spoil if it's just in the refrigerator chilling or it should be frozen?
It’s needs to Be refrigerated or keep frozen.
Thanks for the recipe. How long does the seasoning last?
Until it finishes. It won’t go bad.
My kids don’t like much spice. Are the scotch bonnett spicy?? Also will the vinegar change the taste??
You don’t want it too hot. You can just add 1 or 2 scotch bonnet. These weren’t really hot. Save the hot scotch bonnet for the pepper sauce. Thanks
@@TheRainasKitchen What about the vinegar? Wouldnt it affect the taste
The scotch bonnet peppers I’m the states aren’t very spicy. If we’re talking about In the islands use 1 and remove the seeds. The vinegar balances and helps preserve the green seasoning, therefore it does not change the taste.
Love it!! Making it today.
Do you have an alternative for the all spice berries?
If you don’t have access to the all spice berries, use ground all spice. That’s in most seasoning isle. Thanks
Where do you store this in fridge or freezer and how long will it last for?
Yes! Store in the refrigerator. The vinegar, oil and salt will preserve it. It will last until it runs out.
@@TheRainasKitchen thank you so much and can you suggest another oil or it has to be extra virgin
I’m in Jamaica 🇯🇲 it’s expensive
@@jewelcee1419 hello she answered someone on this question and she said vegetable oil could be used also. Hope this helps.
Can I use apple cider vinegar as substitute for vinegar?
It won’t be the same.
@@TheRainasKitchen oh ok. Well I don't have regular vinegar. Do I just leave it then?
How can I get this to buy?

Can I use any type of vinegar?
Yes! Preferably white .! Thanks
I made a lot, can I freeze some of it?
Yes! Freeze them in an ice trey.
Thank you!
Hi. When you said add it to fish, do I do it before or after ? Like baked or grilled fish
Use it to season any meat or seafood before you cook it.
Overnight is even better I used this recipe for my brown stew chicken and omg it was great

What is allspice berries
Allspice Berries is the correct name but they’re called pimento seeds in the island.
