Ohtani WAS telling the truth, IS telling the truth.
Ohtani paid him off fool.
This shows how clean and honest Ohtani is. Most Japanese knew and believe he was clean. Only the media and haters in both US and Japan were saying Ohtani is the one who did it. They should get sued.
@@mao5787 Yeah right!
@@truthhurtswilky7785Well, if you can't stand the fact that SHOHEI IS INNOCENT, you are more than welcome to try your hardest to prove otherwise.
Ohtani is 24/7 baseball. He has no time for betting.
Why would he bet? He's got 1 billion+ coming to him. Why would he chase extra cash?
@@jaya1000 オマエが頭が悪いのはわかりました
That's right. What Otani is betting on baseball is not money, but life.

Ohtani haters apologize to ohtani. 😂😂
racist white boys
They are in denial and are cowards, the trolls and haters accussing him are actually the ones that gambles, bunch of loser's.
I don't understand these haters, even if their Giants or other fans of the team they should be estactic and happy for the game of Baseball and MLB for Ohtani to bring worldwide intetest and millions of fans to the game. I remember John McGraw saying he did'nt like Babe Ruth but he sure respected appreciated and admired what Ruth did and meant to the game and saving baseball.
I saw some of them.
But, they were astro fans somehow.😂😂
haters gotta hate. they will find a way to keep on believing this is a cover up and keep digging for whatever dirt they can find until something stick. Won't bother Shohei though
I actually have more respect for Shohei now seeing how he handled himself throughout the whole ordeal when all the media was against him. Never complaining, never having a bad attitude towards the media or pundits, never making excuses during the first week when he was in a mini-slump, always cheering for his teammates with a smile, etc, etc. This young lad fits in perfect with the Dodgers.
Good point! I thought so too.
Every real Ohtani fan knows that he's a simple and honest baseball boy, never cares about money, he gave up almost 200 Mio. $ just to come to play MLB 2 years earlier. It is just sad and disappointed that someone he trusted betrayed him that way.
Very sad. I got to watch ohtani and ippei interact out in the while. They were best friends. Ippei lost everything to his addiction and shohei lost his best man at his wedding

ESPN should apologize to Ohtani.
I believed in him from the beginning and wasn't worried.
After listening to his press conference,
I didn't understand why there were people who doubted him.
As someone who believed Ohtani from the beginning, I found it hard to understand the haters. But that being said, since we believe one way, there’s nothing stopping others from believing the other way. Maybe they haven’t followed Ohtani as long as we have so don’t know his personality and traits. Maybe they thought about themselves in that situation and thought there’s no way they would let someone else handle that kind of money without knowing. People just have different experiences/upbringing when it comes to finances so it would affect their judgement against others.
Did you ever doubt Ohtani? Never acted guilty to me or any SANE person
Paid for PR comments 🥱 makes everyone hate him more
Of course. Only Ohtani "haters" wanted to make Ohtani a guilty person without factual evidence. Facts are that Mizuhara took control over all the communications with Ohtani, that Mizuhara was them only one that has had access to Ohtani's bank accounts, especially his charity-dedicated account, and that Ohtani has never engaged in gambling as he hates gambling so much by saying "gambling is like a hell."
You spelled his name wrong
Most of them live in San Francisco 😂😂. Looking at this from a far most of the reaction from this is people who don't like the Dodgers.

Paid for PR comments 🥱 makes everyone hate him more. Foff
To begin with, there was absolutely no reason for Ohtani san to deliberately hold a false press conference on this matter. Most of the reports doubted his statement that he had accused Mizuhara through a lawyer to the judicial authorities, but there was no room for doubt in the first place, as false accusations themselves are punishable by law. During these approximately 2 to 3 weeks when such foolish reports were flying around, Ohtani san was earnestly competing on the MLB stage while honestly accepting the judicial authorities’ questioning. Imagining such a situation and Ohtani san’s state of mind, I can’t help but feel moved. If I were in the same position as Ohtani san… I really have to admire Ohtani san’s humanity.
Michael Kay, Rob Parker, Jeff Passan and others owe Ohtani an apology.
I felt like Ohtani was telling the truth and I am glad that feeling is proven right. I also loved how the team closed ranks around Ohtani to show their support for him. I agree with you DMAC I think it helped bond the team together. I said it before - I feel for Ohtani losing not just the money - which might look like chump change for him - it is still $4.5 M and maybe more - but it was the trust he had in Mizuhara. Just got to be devastating. But look how he has handled it! True class, man and much respect Ohtani.
Ohtani has been subjected to media harassment every day. Once he is clearly found not guilty, they need to apologize. American media didn't believe him.
Japanese knew Ohtani to be an honest person.
It's unfathomable to most Americans the mindset of Shohei and see things from his perspectives. After all, the US is still a baby and immature as a nation compared to Japan where generations and generations of your ancestors matter. In America, just like China, most people don't even know their ancestors especially from where they are from originally.
I knew this from the beginning. I don’t think American people know about Ohtani like we do in Japan. We have watched this kid since high school and observed his mannerisms. He has always been super respectful and humble. That’s one of the biggest reasons why he is loved so much besides being the superstar as a baseball player because in Japan, being humble is the big virtue.🥰
During his time with Nippon Ham Fighters, he let his mother manage his money. His mom would give him 100,000yen (around $670) a month, and what did he do ? Saved most of it as he really didn’t have anything he wanted to spend on. On the day he performed well, he went to Seven Eleven to buy his favorite chocolate crepe (what…about a buck?) That’s who this guy is. He eats and sleeps to play baseball. He never dated anyone in high school though he was given many love letters because he didn’t want girls to interfere his passion for baseball.
A coach of Fighters was interviewed about Ohtani and the question was, “What’s about him that impressed you the most?” The interviewer was asking about his ability in baseball (pitching, hitting, running…) but the coach’s answer was simply, “His personality.” He went on and said Ohtani was just a perfect human being who is so nice, respectful and humble. Then the interviewer went on, “Oh come on! Give us something…one weird thing about him!” but he continued, “Nothing. He simply is a perfect human being.” 😂❤
Well, now that we know that he sucks at managing his money. He really is not interested in money. Why would he come to play for Angels giving up millions of 💴 if he was all about money!
Ippei lied about his school background, he actually did go to gambling school but he didn’t graduate this college in Riverside like he claimed 🙄
Oh well, I’m sure there will be haters no matter what but I will be behind him 100% 😌😌😌❤️
100%!
Thank You for this. Dodgers Fans will see Him for who He is. We love lovable and friendly guys on the team. Always has. Don’t worry, He’s in good hands here in LA with the True Blue Dodgers Fans! The kind that LOVED Vin Scully!!
ありがとうございます🙇
@@slamjo10 Hahaha! I don’t think you are asking me the question genuinely but I will genuinely answer to it. Most of us love him so much because he is living our dream. What he is doing was unthinkable for years (for any Japanese person to join MLB and become so successful) but he is doing it in another level even compared to Ichiro or Matsui. He is simply our son, grandson, brother. Well he was also a lover to many of us until his marriage announcement 😂. He is also our pride and joy. His home run simply makes our day, gives us energy to strive, gives us hope. Is that so bad to have in your life? He is a super hero that you can actually watch him exist, that’s all. 🥰

Ohtani haters crying. Stephen Smith, Michael Kay, Mad Dog Russo, lebartads, Rob, and bunch of other haters.
@RusselDesomeroux Unfortunately, no, he can't sue. He would have to prove that Smith, Kay, etc. actually reported as fact that he was guilty, which they didn't because they were only stating their opinions (misguided though they were).
AND Ohtani would also have to prove that those guys' comments caused him to suffer financial harm or some other tangible damage. It's almost impossible for a public figure like Ohtani to make such a case in court.
So again, he can't sue. Although I personally wish he could.
Stephen Smith was saying he was involved in the gambling scandal?

So many armchair legal experts came out of the woodwork. Now they're scurrying back under...😭🪳🕷🦗🪲
Shohei is an honorable guy.
Not a surprise. 😇
Pete Rose tried to use Ohtani to restore his reputation.
How loser
You cannot associate Ohtani with "gambling" at all. Ohtani simply had his interpreter who had gambling addiction. It's Ippei and gambling. Ohtani had just his money stolen from his interpreter and is a VICTIM.
Well Ohtani initially gambled, gambled by joining the Angels and sadly the gamble didn't paid off
@@exia0616Is going to a team that will allow you to play to the best of your abilities called gambling now? 🤣 Only Angels allowed him to play as a 2-way player, that's his only choice.
*by his interpreter.
That is not 100% correct. If Ohtani initially went to the NYY, Mets, or even the Dodgers, Mets, he wouldn’t have excelled there due to high media exposure and fan pressure, so going to the Angels was the best move, with the team giving him support to pitch and hit, along with time off his TJ surgery and that led him to his present success. Other teams would have asked him to chose either pitch or hit. Smart move by Ohtani!
Sho not guilty awesome news
Hyper-focused ultra-rich athletes have close assistants. Sometimes these assistants are morally-challenged and steal from their busy bosses. Ippei is the new poster child for this category.

Also, as glad as I am that Ohtani is cleared of charges, it’s still sad that he lost a close friend. I hope he finds support and care through the dodgers community. Go Dodgers! 💙
The most compassionate statement in these comments. I feel bad for him as well.
Thank you!

I knew Shohei was telling the truth. This dude is 10 years older than him. Shohei trusted him. So happy he’s been cleared, like I knew he would be! 😊
All Dodgers and Shohei fans should go on Michael Kay’s RUclips videos and let him know how they feel about Michael Kay continually trying to implicate Shohei as guilty with no evidence. He has been very vocal and led a lot of people to believe Ohtani was dirty.
Now Ohtani can be worry-free as he hits .300+ with lots of homers!
Ohtani's representative summarized this incidence perfectly in one sentence, "Ohtani is a victim of massive theft"
Hallelujah! I knew it and believed Ohtani from beginning. I'm disappointed to Angels fans and rich eisen though.
Now Ohtani can just focus on baseball and not this nonsense
Great news! We can all focus on baseball now.

Just like I called it! Haters should apologize to Ohtani-san!!
This is the best news I’ve had ever this year! 😊
I've been saying this all the time, a guy with this level of discipline, a guy who earns more money than Elon Musk, a very smart guy, a guy that doesn't drink, no scandals, that works that much, why on earth a person like him would risk to lose everything?, that makes absolutely no sense, in the other hand a broke guy, who is in the shadow of the biggest baseball star, that has access to his accounts, has a lot reason to try to get some money, think people, think!!
Thank you and well said, Doug.
I myself is a Japanese who now living in US, and I knew Ohtani was innocent.
Not only because I’m a big fan since his NPB era but I was there when I moved to US.
I could speak some English when I moved but had to rely on a lot of things to my husband or friends early on.
Especially open a bank account.
We have different systems in Japan and I had never used check books until I moved to US.
Back to 2018, he came to US, Ohtani probably had to have Ippei to help such a things and totally understandable if he helped Ohtani’s online banking settings.
Some people blaming Ohtani that he is not work hard to learn English.
I would like to ask them that if they ever learn Japanese and living there.
Japanese and English are very different languages and one of hardest to learn.
Yes he probably still needs to and he has been learning, but that is not his 1st priority.
His first priority is work hard to improve his baseball skills for winning.
Someone like me, who can’t afford interpreter need to learn though.
Ippei had a free ride for life. Screwed up by stealing from the Golden goose. Done
Well said by Dodgers nation.
Ohtani’s stardom will get even bigger after this. Laisan Al gaib.
I lost all respect for Pete Rose after the comments he made.
Pete Rose in 1989 deny but partially admitted he bet on sports (later he said he bet on baseball) And players who used steriods deny but partially admitted by saying the trainer injected without their knowledge or say did'nt know it was steriods. In this case a guilty person will not totally deny unless he is totally innocent like Shohei, and the hater's that knocked and accused him will look like fools.
onwards and upwards for mr. ohtani. remember his quote: "And to all Dodgers fans, I pledge to always do what’s best for the team and always continue to give it my all to be the best version of myself. Until the last day of my playing career, I want to continue to strive forward not only for the Dodgers but for the baseball world."
Sorry he was disappointed by a trusted friend.
The most likely and plausible explanation over the situation turned out to be the facts of the investigation, no surprise there. Go Dodgers!
when Ohtani was playing in japan, he was paid over a million dollars and gave his salary to his mother and asked for only less than a thousand dollars allowance every month! DONE!
I am a first gen Japanese American. Both of my parents are Japanese with my father being part Hawaiian.
I grew up in a household where if you know of the Japanese culture things like this are of utmost shame both to the family and to the culture of Japan.
Back in the day Mizuhara would have been so distraught that he’d of taken his own life. It’s a matter of being set as an outcast where your shame to anyone and everyone because of your actions is just magnified to a number you can’t imagine as a Japanese human being.
There are many that I’ve seen and or heard of that allowed inanimate things to consume them such as money which is the biggest object that can deter anyone from being honest and have integrity.
I can both be in Shohei’s shoes and Mizuhara’s and totally understand what they are going through. Again being Japanese I can say where they are tonight in mind and body.
There’s so much more that I can get into when it comes to the Japanese culture that ties into this but, I can’t make this a novel!
I knew in my heart who was guilty and now we can finally just move forward.
GO DODGER BLUE!
japanese woman who marry white boys shame u guys
Unfortunately we live in an era where people reject reality in favor of the narrative they want to believe. Haters will always dig their heels in and say he got away with it.
1 thing i don’t understand is, how does ohtani have any haters?
People should keep in mind that Ohtani speaks little English, and was quite highly dependent on someone like Mizuhara in ways that go way beyond the usual celebrity's-assistant role.
As an American living in Japan who doesn't speak a whole lot of Japanese, I can fully understand (a) how much you need others' help, (b) how important it is to have a trusted person help you with things like banking, and (c) how potentially dangerous it could be if it turns out that the trusted person is in fact a betrayer.
I live in Hokkaido, by the way, where Ohtani played for several years (Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters) before going over to the MLB. The Fighters have sucked ever since he left.
Wow, Mizuhara is a snake. Supposedly lied about his education, work experience, and that Ohtani knew about the payments. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
Shohei is going to play even better now. Watch out haters!
Sweet.. let’s play some ball now..
I wonder what the Dodgers hating sports pundits are going to talk about now. 😂
DMAC, this has got to be one of your best takes! Love your reaction on the haters…it’s been so frustrating and irritating to hear all those who would use innuendo to cast suspicion on Ohtani…without facts, of course!
Never doubted him for a second. I just feel bad that he was betrayed by someone close. But, I'm sure he will just put this in the past and play ball! ⚾️🎉

The noises were very loud and ugly, but so many people trusted him from the beginning. I want Ohtani focusing on playing basketball without any distractions.
Shohei has the deepest respect for his mother and father. His character, his values, his sense of honor was ingrained in his upbringing. He would never ever behave in a manner that would embarrass or bring dishonor his family or to himself. Or to his country and America. People who slander others do so to self medicate their low self-esteem. They shoot from the hip, exhibit limited intelligence, are devoid of good character and verbally validate their ignorance. Critical thinking escapes them.
