The trio fight was already really hard for me(i didn't have a lot of good units and don't have time to build them) and making a fight even harder right after that would just be painful. From a story perspective, one person being eaiser then 3 realy says something about the depictable thing that Ahab has done, it weakens the overall strength the group had. This is another difference Ishmael had with her, Ishmael wasn't fighting alone. Ahab was fundementally left alone in the ending where she enters her hallucinatory state where she seeks her men, she seeks help from those who persued the same life goals as her(forced or not) Despite being overdone, i have always enjoyed the power of friendship, or collabration and the idea of companionship. @@HonkG.Womblatin Listen to the whole song. First it is "my compass was swallowed by the sea", in a kinda sorrowful way, and is what loops throughout most of the song. Then it is loudly "my compass is curiosity" when nearing the end.
@@HonkG.Womblatin It switches over at some point during either the final scene before that cutscene, or that cutscene itself, possibly when Ishmael declares her new compass. By the time Ishmael harpoon happens, the song is definitely proclaiming "My compass is curiosity", although the lyrics don't show up on screen the way the other ones did.
man why is her ego easier than that of the pequod fight, legit it took me changing a whole squad to get the queequeeg starbuck and ahab, but the ego? took one try with K hong lu dying and then clutching with ardour corrosion nuking killing everyone including the boss, very cool
Old comment but to me it felt like something about the way she always relies on others. With her and with Ahab ID Ishmael it comes off that even if she's a very capable person and competent fighter her greatest power is her ability to lead others, so once she's chewed through them all and there's nothing left at the deepest depths of her delusions she's so much weaker even after having consumed them. I think it's really interesting. Her ego blinds her to one of the things that made her most exceptional and worthy of admiration. All that charisma and unable to find fulfillment in it.
The gasharpoon fight was to show how ahab is nothing by herself, even her ego, fueled by her crew. Was weak, and in the trio fight, she wasn't that difficult to take down either by herself. Only reason it being mildly difficult being queequeg being her shield, and starbuck being her weapon to wield.
I tried my best, but they very well may be. I went to listen to the song in other people's videos of the fight to gauge the amount of time between each beat, and used Audacity to match up waveforms with a bit of guesswork.
Ah good. I'm not the only one who noticed GasHarpoon's arm EGo looking like that. I wonder if Effloresced just refers to it being an EGO or something else since that term is new (to the series. Obviously we have had other things with the term in Limbus). EGO seem to be similar to abnos/distortions in that they can do stuff that is similar to magic. I mean there was some interesting stuff with EGO at the end of Leviathan.
Efflorensce E.G.O is just the general term for people fully manifested their E.G.O. E.G.O, not to be confused with ego, are equipment manifested by the person's hardened purpose, signified the user have fully accepted themselves for whoever they've become, come to an understanding and accepting everything they represented. Efflorensce is quite literally means "Fully Bloomed"
@@kaidouseishin4614isn't the golden bough a literal source of light? I think that it really does help people get their EGO, especially, considering that everyone who got their EGO until now were near golden bough.
@@kaidouseishin4614 Yeah I knew that. We'll see. Kind of weird to introduce a term like this when the characters know what EGO is explicitly. I like the term, but psychoment makes more sense as a 'EGO replacement'. Probably because it just makes sense to someone out of the know. Never going to get down how to say it out loud for when I start doing ruina mod streams again and someone wants to talk about it.
(Usage of now NC // Still rele material) E.G.O. can be pretty insane based on the wearer. However, there is an anomaly being the usage of Fused EGO. Fused EGO is only present within the now NC Wonderlab and Dongbaek. Dongbaeks usage of fused ego is not as outwardly present as WL, but there are still clear remnants of sunshower within Blooming (general design, etc.). Which now leads to the question of if fused ego is dependant on the ego gear used or the users personal ego, or a mix of the two. Personally I believe that depending on the gear strength, the personal ego can either fizzle into the suit (seen in WL) or the ego takes part of the suit and incorporates it (blooming). Now the issue is if a Colour grade fixer manifests a fused ALEPH gear ego (similar to gebura but a finished ego and not proto.) I'd believe they would probably have strength similar to prime kali? but thats excluding amps/etc.
it is not a fused ego as the other Pequod Crew members dont have control of their own ego to awaken their EGO equipment, and efflorensce EGO is just the general term to designate people who fully awakened their own EGO equipment, as Efflorensce literally mean fully matured.
Pretty sure Ahab has manifesting incomplete ego, kinda of like Philip in the library of ruina. Philip and Ahab look pretty similar with how the ego is fused into their bodies.
@@kaidouseishin4614 My only gripe with that is how Ahab has no characteristics in common with all other characters who have fully manifested EGO, but there may be something I'm not seeing.
Ishmael and Queequeg are compared to a married couple at one point in the book, which, in classical literature, is about as close as an author can come to saying "these bitches gay"
@@c_alam1tyyea they were very gay, but i mean like now that Queequeg is dead and Cathy is so too probably (read Wuthering Heights) i realy would like if the two maybe got a bit romantic since yk, both suffered a similar pain and both were always there to put sense in eachothers head

At the beginning and when it switches into singing? In-game when starting Pip and Starbuck's phase, that white noise sound plays before the next part of the song kicks in. It's a transition between phases. I decided to include it in this version for that authentic experience.

Throws the anchor at a party member to reel them in before bashing them away following a deluge of water, dealing heavy damage and inflicting bleed and “weeping gloom” for 3 turns (weeping gloom reduces all stats by half, and makes the affected less likely to be targeted) Last word: - THE HUNT IS ON! LETS REAP WHAT I SOW!: unfocused. Summons her mighty warship, the Acheron, to crash into the party following a barrage of cannon fire and burning harpoons, dealing catastrophic damage and inflicting weeping gloom on all party members for 2 turns. Don't wanna be a party pooper but pretty sure its "my compass was swallowed by the sea"
@@HonkG.Womblatin Listen to the whole song.
First it is "my compass was swallowed by the sea", in a kinda sorrowful way, and is what loops throughout most of the song.
Then it is loudly "my compass is curiosity" when nearing the end.
@@terra6713 oh
tbh i didn't see the lyrics when at the end of the fight,is it at the last ego or right before the ishmael harpoon cutscene
ABSOLUTE CINEMA
I think the beats of the heartbeat are slightly offbeat but that might be just me. 😮
I believe it means EGO gained with the help of The Golden Bough
@@agzzradface3113 no it aint the golden bough never help anyone gain anything
I don't know what this is, but it appeared on my right tab while i was listening to Touhou 10 OST
Welcome to Project Moon. Enjoy your stay in the City
Nice another zun music enjoyer
Do u happen to have the version that plays during the abno choice part? Where it’s a bit muted and reverbed?

(Usage of now NC // Still rele material)
E.G.O. can be pretty insane based on the wearer.
@@illitris3086 it's not "incomplete" tho ? Efflorensce means the E.G.O has completely manifested for the user
@@kaidouseishin4614 My only gripe with that is how Ahab has no characteristics in common with all other characters who have fully manifested EGO, but there may be something I'm not seeing.
@@illitris3086 wym ? why cant fully manifested E.G.O just a weapon? Kali fully manifested E.G.O was just her suit of armor
A beautiful song about letting go of your obessions.
PS, QueeXIsh forever.
No :( Edit: I thought this said Ahab X Ish
@@popopop984queecliffxishmahab nore your style?
queequeg and ishmael were pretty gay in the book, according to a friend. funnie.
Ishmael and Queequeg are compared to a married couple at one point in the book, which, in classical literature, is about as close as an author can come to saying "these bitches gay"
@@c_alam1tyyea they were very gay, but i mean like now that Queequeg is dead and Cathy is so too probably (read Wuthering Heights) i realy would like if the two maybe got a bit romantic since yk, both suffered a similar pain and both were always there to put sense in eachothers head
would like a loop of the first part if there isn't already
I feel like I should have done this sooner, and not just because I lost internet yesterday. I kind of wanted to do a loop like that, but just never did. It''s processing now and should be up in 48 minutes according to RUclips.
Thankyou!!

Me thinking for 10 minutes straight about what should i do with the counter: Ish stfu let me think *turn off the music*
tnx
Is the white noise part of the song or a sfx?
At the beginning and when it switches into singing?
In-game when starting Pip and Starbuck's phase, that white noise sound plays before the next part of the song kicks in. It's a transition between phases. I decided to include it in this version for that authentic experience.
waiting for the drop... is this how getting edged feels like?
the first part sounds vaguely medical to me, its weird
I feel like you should add a part that has just music and no vocals before the climax. Feels a little stale without it, (not to take away the work you've done of course.)
Just an idea.
Is it possible that you could make this loop without the heartbeat?
Touhou lostword boss concept: Charon, The Tzar of the Hadean-Sanzu
“The lost word you speak of doesn’t exist anymore here, it has been slain. You won’t go? You don’t believe me? Shame, then come, reimu in red! Bring the huntress one final duel of blades and talismans! Prove to me that you are worthy to march up to the angel of death alone!”
ATK type: yin
Element: water, moon, hadean (a unique element that grants absolute immunity to star and moon element attacks)
HP: 2,000,000
ATK: 130
DEF: Yin - 15 Yang - 38
Passives:
- stalwart determination: this boss enjoys extra abilities.
- chains of the long gone crew: all spellcard damage done to the boss is heavily reduced until at 50% HP.
- raging obsession: gain 1 “obsessive dream” every time a barrier is destroyed or when targeting a party member marked with “Acheron command”
- forevermore hunt: HP does not go below 1 until all obsessive dreams are exhausted. Spend 1 obsessive dream for every attack/skill used. When all obsessive dreams are used up, HP drops to 0 immediately.
Skills:
- rusted anchor of obsession: gain a 3 turn attack boost, if there are 5 obsessive dreams, turn this into a 4 turn accuracy & attack buff.
- Acheron command: points at a random target and marks them. Every hit deals a flat 3 damage to the marked for 4 turns.
- blood feuding rule breaker: immediately stuns a target for one turn and targets them to deal extra damage and gain 1 obsessive dream upon use, this skill has a 50/50 chance to hit or fail. If failed nothing happens.
Attacks:
- rampage: focused. Charges a target and bashes them with the rusted anchor to deal heavy damage. Has a chance to induce a poison like status on the target for 3 turns. If there are 4 obsessive dreams, throw the harpoon to stun the target for 1 turn before ripping it out to deal heavy damage. (This part of the attack has a low chance to hit)
- in my way: unfocused. Swipes the entire party with the anchor to barrage them with a wave of water, dealing moderate damage. If there are 5 obsessive dreams, spend 1 to slam the anchor’s tip into the ground, causing pillars of water to erupt below the party to deal extra damage with a low chance to break a barrier.
- gloom basked in anger: focused. Uses when there are 4 obsessive dreams. Reels the target in with the anchor and rapidly beats the party member 4 times with the anchor to deal heavy damage, if there are 6 obsessive dreams, stab them to regain a small amount of HP.
Spellcards:
- echoing cry, the hunt is on!: unfocused. Lets out a scream that sends out rings of bullets, dealing heavy damage to the whole party and inflicting them all with heavy attack and defense debuffs for 3 turns. Spends 1 obsessive dream to stun the marked target for 1 turn.
- it must still be alive!: focused. Throws the anchor at a party member to reel them in before bashing them away following a deluge of water, dealing heavy damage and inflicting bleed and “weeping gloom” for 3 turns (weeping gloom reduces all stats by half, and makes the affected less likely to be targeted)
Last word:
- THE HUNT IS ON! LETS REAP WHAT I SOW!: unfocused. Summons her mighty warship, the Acheron, to crash into the party following a barrage of cannon fire and burning harpoons, dealing catastrophic damage and inflicting weeping gloom on all party members for 2 turns. If at more than 10 obsessive dreams, spend all but 3 to fire a massive beam from the Acheron to deal further damage and destroy 2 barriers, reduce own stats by 4/5ths for 6 turns.
shame lw is bad, this a cool concept
@@victorpedrosoceolin3919 eh it’s one of the few touhou related things I played outside of AoCF and thousand night anamnesis. Excuse my ramblings here but I do like the concept of LW, but to be frank I just wish it wasn’t turn based, I wouldn’t say LW was the absolute worst game like I used to think, but compared to limbus, guardian tales, and even arknights I just feel LW lacks in some spots.
