Totally. He might have wrecked those players careers or at the least shattered their confidence. What he said was just so harsh and detailed.. and he just kept going. As a player its hard to recover publicly from those words.. and harder still to get your next contract

Let just deal with facts. From kids who play in academies, fewer than 1% of them will have a career in football at any level, and only 180 kids from 1.5 million youth footballers are likely to make it all the way to the Premier League. Furthermore, 86% of all youngsters who sign a pro contract at 18 will leave professional football completely by the age of 24. Troy was 27 when he made his Premier League debut and stayed there for 5 years. He scored over 200 goals in his pro career. And you say he's a legend in his own head. Yeah, whatever! And no, I'm not a Watford fan.
What has he said that was arrogant? A PL player has to be a top professional because all the talent in the world on its own gets you nowhere - Ask Deli Ali. You have to give 100% and perform in metrics outside of your God given ability with a ball at your feet. You have to know where to stand, when to run, when to stay. You have to be able to predict what an opponent will do. You can't transplant your ability but you can coach these things to others if they are willing to listen and work at them and you are good at communicating amongst other qualities. A PL footballer almost always knows more about these aspects than a League 2 player and quite frankly a League 2 player should be excited at the prospect of learning from a PL player. Maybe he just isn't a good coach but we won't find out by lesser players whom have no intrest in putting in the effort to learn and better themselves. Calling them out was not just natural but necessary. The method may not be palatable or even right but it suggests nothing about his ego unless ego is measured by how hard you think people should work.

@jhpfdijtuiweruot Yes, Eminem lyrics. The lyric I cited is actually highly relevant to the conversation brought up in the book previous video. And it’s also one of the reasons why the song was so popular. It resonated with people from all different backgrounds because it summed up the very real socio-economic struggles that a large majority of people have to deal with.
How was the other video race baiting? Whether or not the people in question were from lower socio economic backgrounds or not is irrelevant, it’s the inference that because they were black they either had to be good at football or end up in jail that was being debated. There might be some intersectionality points around the outcomes of being from a lower socio economic background combined with being from an ethnic minority, yes. But that wasn’t the debate.
If you're making a serious point, I'd recommend not using rap lyrics as a reference and maybe reference some actual studies instead. It completely undermines what you say.
