Every damn time there windows 10 update I have to fix something. Microsoft support only knows how to wipe the drive and re-install the OS. Why in the hell do I waste my time even calling them?

when i go to windows?system 32> configs it won't let me open the config's folder because i "don't have access to it". It asks me to click continue but that requires administrator rights.

I actually skipped the reading part and directly watches the video so I entered 1 instead of 10 then to my amusement I got logged on my Original (not= default admin) account and when I ran Windows Terminal(Admin) it actually gave me option to enter admin password and then click yes. Then I went to Users and changed my accounts rights to admin. Bty It was great help from you.

Hi Kapil After going to the command prompt it is showing only 2 option one ADMINISTRATOR and the other that FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD AND CANT SEE YOUR ACCOUNT and after going to ADMINISTRATOR it is saying PASSWORD IS WRONG even though i havent changed any password i guess its because of hidden administrator and by the 2nd option it is simply restarting nothing else ........ i am unable to go the command prompt Can i use that command prompt simply from search button not by boot ??

I could not find any homegroup om Win 10 and dont have any other ideas how to make it work. I once tried to get into SAM without using advanced option but access was denied. thanks man, I had a ID10T error and broke my admin account.... this helped, and thankfully I halfway know what I'm doing, so the couple of missing steps weren't a problem. I think microsoft updated something, because there's a couple more steps to it now. (or maybe this vid is vague on purpose?) One would think they would just put a message warning you not to lock yourself out if you are getting ready to do that.... So I don't lost administrator rights, but I lost my administrator account. I only made 1 user on this windows and that's my administrator account. And I can't acces it in recovery mode. I uninstalled a program, after finished uninstall, the shortcut is still there but without icon. When i tried to remove it, it says i dont have permission on it. HOW ?
This only works if you know the password for the built Administrator account. It prompts me for the password, and I cannot get pass the boot menu's advanced troubleshooting options.
excuse me this only way to return because i have the same problem and your way is to long so i'm afraid if i do it wrong. 2-thing if i recover or format laptop is admin right will return.
