Man this song brings back huge memories for me. I used to play it over and over, cry, sing, cry, OMGosh, chills! This was a time when I was going back on my own with a baby without her father and this song was such a huge part of my life. Hearing it today, I am playing it over and over, crying, singing and crying some more. WOW Lacy, sure wish you could write somemore like this, this would be a hit today! I love all of her music, she has a wonderful voice and we need to hear it again! Thx.
One of my all time favorite singers and what a great song!! Sure wish Lacy would make a big comeback and give us more to enjoy. Wouldn't it be great if Lacy and K.T. Oslin would work together? Can you imagine those two great voices! Thanks for posting this
I sure do miss Lacy J. Dalton from the country music scene I sure wish that she'd make a come back Black Coffee is one of my favorite songs of hers God please bring her back
Dude, This came out when I was a kid my mom would ride around listening to this..so many years later I hear this tune in my head from time to time. I hear the pain in this song that ive felt before
My bus driver listened exclusively to country and these songs hit hard years later. At the time i didn't understand how deep they usually were. Privileged to have experienced this era.
Eventhough I am not a fan of Country Music, I have always loved this song.... Lacy J's voice, along with the powerful lyrics of this song... Are tremendous !!!
This song stuck in my head as soon as I heard it as a kid. For years I never knew who sang it, then finally found it on a compilation cd. Awesome, still love it.
In 1995 or somewhere around then, Lacy J. Dalton, Juice Newton and Janey Fricke gave a concert in Tulsa. I won tickets to go. I've always LOVED Lacy. Her bus broke down in Dallas so there was only her and a guitar player. My daughter and I went to the concert. My daughter thought it was great that Lacy would get up on stage and still do her show without all the trappings of the band.
Thank you so much for posting this song. I have been looking for it for years and I didn't know who this incredible singer is. Sadly, they do not play this song on the radio either. The lyrics are so powerful. It gives me shivers. Perfect breakup song. I love it. I going to go buy her cd. Thank you again for postings
Oh My Got I found It=) I have being Looking for this song For ever.. Just Love this song!!!!!!!!! Me encanta esta cancion,Gracias a Dios soy Bilingue jijiji? se los dejo de tarea!!
An absolute masterpiece of a song! Great instrumental, especially where the bass kicks in. Good story with the lyrics also. Had searched for this song in the past (admittedly, it's been awhile), but never got it in this good of quality. Thanks MUCH!
God I love her! I just really got into her earlier this year so I've been ebay'ing all her out of print stuff. Ive always known this one though. A perferct song!
This song ''Black Coffee'' is so reminicent of the Police song '''Every Breath You Take'''. I think I heard Lacy once say something that it was resemblance of ''Every Breath You Take''.
I loved this song when i was still listening to rock. Now i am mostly country, at least from the 70's through about 2010. The new country, no thanks. Rap doesn't belong in country music!
I agree with you. I used to be a big fan of Country music but now I keep my radio station tuned into traditional Country. I don't watch the awards anymore either.
i heard this song along time ago but never knew who sung it or the name but i knew the first part of the song and that is how i found it i love this song and its very hard to fine
well i must admitt i was looking for another person that sings this song like stevens/kanter but with no success but this person can sing the song superbly so i'll be looking at more songs by this person

This is SUCH a GOOD SONG. Her voice is AWESOME, the melody is addictive and the lyrics true to the message. Love it. ❤️

This is my absolute favourite song. And she is singing it beautiful. I don't like other people to sing it.

Lacy hit #15 in Billboard, 6-2-90. Another artist who, sadly, fell by the wayside. Lacy, you're surely missed, right, gang? God bless!
