- I ordered a set of pre-bent stainless steel brake lines from Brother's Trucks (Manufactured by Inline Tube) and they needed some modification. I also mount the aluminum 20 gallon gas tank from CPP.

Cpp sells the front disc conversion brake line kit just for the 70s, it fit like a glove on mine
In stainless? When I ordered through Brothers they had regular steel, just not stainless
@@paulkc10 yep, I'll try and find the pn for others
@@paulkc10 found it, 6770FLK-SS
Awesome that would have made my life a lot easier. I’ll pin this comment so it’s at the top.
So that tank doesnt have straps like some of the others do would it be hard to remove if you ever had to take it out
Should've bought the kit for the 69...69 & 70 are practically identical...they changed for 71-72...
I bought a kit from inline for my 1972 C10 with disc brakes up front and drums on the rear and had trouble in the same area you are having issues with, but everything else fit like a glove.
It’s definitely not a direct fit as advertised. Customer service didn’t seem to care about much either.
Using a good double flaring tool is a must, I’ve never flared stainless lines before, Eastwood has a really nice tool for that. Good luck and don’t forget to put the flare nut on first!! Take care, truck is looking great!!
Yea it’ll be interesting getting this stainless steel to flare. Luckily both are 3/16” line and it seems fairly malleable. The 1/4” line is tough
I agree re the Eastwood tool. What do you use for a tbg bender
I did all mine on my 61 Apache on regular steel. It bends and flares alot easier then stainless. If you buy stainless lines make sure they are prebent and already have the the nuts on them.
Anytime you flare stainless it’s a single 37 degree due to the hardness of stainless it will crack.
Had the same headaches with my brake lines. when I do the rear discs and need a proportioning valve, I'm just gonna buy bulk line and bend my own on what gets replaced.
Not a bad idea
Do you have a video of routing the fuel lines?

CPP, some refer to as Chinese Performance Parts. Maybe that's why the tank took so long to get there. Great looking build!
That was exactly the issue
They claim they make everything in house in CA...
I'll be hitting the brakes very soon on my own build. As usual, you made it look easy. Thanks as always!
gas tank looks fantastic. wish I would have gone the same route(top fill). used a blazer tank with angled filler neck and it was a pain. front suspension set up looks top notch
I freaked out on mine when installing the rear tank and saw that crossmember at an angle my first thought was FRAME DAMAGE LOL
Haha nope. Gotta make room for the panhard bar bracket
What is the music in the background??
Love this build! Thanks for sharing. Sub'd for all the goodness!
I saved time by removing that back bracket then slide the tank in then bolt the bracket back into place.
I was about to ask where you ordered your parts, then you mention it right away lol. Gonna start on a 65 sir thank you for the footage.
I wanna upgrade my chevy colorado pickup an put an aluminum gas tank on the rear do u bought a light weight aluminum tank? Cause they are kinda expensive. I'm planning to put it just behind the cab put it in the over the front of the bed
Aluminum is pretty light
Is your chassis an original swb or a converted one
Shortened
Do you think that the fuel lines will work on a 1970 ?
This is a ‘70. So yep
Nice install. I ordered a very similar tank from brothers what size bolts did u go with?
Thanks
Mine had all the hardware included. I would imagine yours will too
