    Just got my Daphne Blue from CME. I already have 8 Fender Strats including 3 from the Custom Shop. I had been holding off for many years looking for just the right Daphne Blue Strat from Fender. This was the one!. OMG, I think this just might be the best sounding Strat in my collection. The tones sound very snappy and clear (just what I hear in my head as to how a Strat should sound like for me). I also had just bought a Limited Edition Vintera 70’s Strat with Custom Shop 69 Pickups. I thought THAT guitar was the best sounding in my collection, until this one arrived. If you can get one, do it. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Thank you so much Anderton’s Music and Chicago Music Exchange. I believe they knocked it out of the park with this Limited Edition run. 🙏🏼

Thank you guys for spec’ing this guitar the way you did because it checked all the boxes aside from fretboard that I wanted. I had accepted the fact that I’d have to shell out for a custom shop but when I saw this online I bought it pretty much instantly, only thing I asked was to send me the one with the darkest fretboard they had and they did. The checking and satin like nitro surprised me at how good it looks in person. Thanks again!

    I've ordered the vintage white Strat last night. I was looking for something with a classic 60's sound and relic for ages. Some say that pau ferro is ruining the sound, but honestly, I really like the sound of that Strat. So if that's the way this sound was ruined, then I'm totally up for it! It's really hard to find a 60's relic reissue, with modern wiring for less than 2K, even if it's a second hand, so to me £999 for a brand new instrument that tick all the boxes is a bargain. Yes, I know, it's a MIM, but with US 59's pups, who cares! I can't wait! You guys have totally nailed it! So to me, this year, Christmas will start in November and out of sudden 2020 doesn't look so sh&% anymore 😊 This should be your new slogan - "Andertons - we've made 2020 better (unlike everyone else)" 😁

    I came home from work on my birthday and my wife hid the Daphne blue strat in the closet, It looks and sounds unbelievable, I’ve had my player now 3 years, and a Clapton signature, I was unsatisfied with because of the noiseless pups, I wanted something vintage, something that looked and felt like Jimi would have played, wow, I can’t believe it. These are great. The 7.5 radius compared to player 9.5 I don’t really notice dramatically one way or the other.

    Jeff Beck and Hendrix both used the wiggle bar, but plenty of great players don't (Ry Cooder)! I prefer 5 springs in a Strat and flat to the body, so you get the best tuning stability.

    A couple of things. Lee sounded really, really good playing the Tele - all of these guitars sound killer. Pickups obviously make a difference. I feel the exact same way about dings on a guitar, but I have yet to find an inexpensive (sub $1,000) guitar with a good relic job. Back in 2004 I spent $550 on an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus, and at the time it was a lot of money for me. After about two months I put a bad ding on the surface. It STILL bothers me to this day. Since then I've learned toward functional guitars like the Gibson Les Paul Tribute and the PRS S2 Standard Satin 24. Back to the Strats - the line between Mexican and American is so blurry at the higher MIM points. The best MIM guitars seem as good as the American offerings, from my perspective. The middle of the road MIMs, well, I love them, but I feel like I can tell the difference. But I'm not as confident as i was a decade ago.

    I’ve watched far too many Andertons videos over the years (with much joy), and you generally have quite a thin guitar tone (I’m sure YT comp etc has an impact but other RUclipsrs get a better sound). To my ears, the Pete strat tones are BY FAR the best tone you’ve ever printed to RUclips. Even the tele sounds, which I appreciate are harder to get across, make a decent fist of it. Whatever you did for this video, KEEP DOING IT (and I say that as someone who records and mixes music). Keep safe and well.

    I’m with you Pete in regards to the trem. If your not a trem player but like a start decking the trem is the way to go. For me it seems that it bends easier and sounds a little nicer. Hey if having a strat with a hardtail/ decked bridge is good enough for Eric Clapton and Robert Cray it’s good enough reason for me

    Tried a lot of Fenders, from last years Vintera (and previous Mex-ClassicSeries) and AmOri sounding the best 1=2 places (sq top, design, colors etc top). Yes, Vintera not USA, yes 8/10 build quality to USA, yes price is close to AmPerf. But, they are real Fenders, how they should be. AmPerf are on the next line of sound quality, #3, don't like cheap printed logo, but nice colors. AmPro i would give 4th place (sound is so-so, build quality, design the best), and last (worth) Elite and Ultra. Both are almost non-Fender sounding, but build quality is good + cases.

    I think Jeff Becks is an 80's pro series. The guitar you refered to as looking like JB's looks similar but all the appointments are wrong.Becks has the 3 neck bolts and adjustable neck angle. Dual fulcrum trem. in line Kluson style tuners, their worlds apart.

    These should really have 9.5" fretboard radius... they would be the Custom Shop killers! Specially for the strats: 7.25" radius + floating trem = every string change needs a set-up

    • @anonymousforensic
      @anonymousforensic 4 года назад

      The Bedroom Rocker Only if you’re changing string gauge...

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1 4 года назад +1

      @@anonymousforensic not really... the thing is that with a 7.25" radius and vintage frets it's quite easy to get string choking when bending, so these guitars really need to be well set-up. Every change of strings, weather, humidity, etc. makes the neck move a bit and with a 7.25" this is very often enough to make the strings choke. I speak from my own experience with a Classic Series Strat with a 7.25" radius and vintage frets. I love the sound of that guitar, but it's frustrating how often I get strings chocking with it. A flatter radius like 9.5" that you find in modern Fenders and many custom shop guitars is much better in this regard

    • @RafaelFernandesdosSantos
      @RafaelFernandesdosSantos 4 года назад +1

      yeah I agree with that. Pete's custom purple tele has a 9.5. but I have a feeling these was not a andertons decision. Fender probably had the necks lying around and pushed them to cut costs.

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1 4 года назад

      @@RafaelFernandesdosSantos Yes... I think those are probably the same regular necks as their normal roadworn series. Gotta wait and hope for their next batch now...

    Interesting thing about the Pick ups - over here the Vintera Road Worn have specially designed (with Formvar wire) '60's Pups.
    The regular Vintera Road Worn are selling for $50.00 less than the coordinated ones (with you). I haven't had a chance to play the regular US ones but have heard them and they do sound good.
    Both are extremely good value, personally I like the LPB and Shoreline Gold 60's versions but that is just me! P.

  • @marksanders2784
    @marksanders2784 2 года назад

    Would love to see a premium version of this - different finishes (shell pink, ocean turquoise for instance) with fat 50's pickups, maybe a roasted maple neck but even if standard maple it has to come with a ROSEWOOD fingerboard. I think that would be killer!

  • @bryantwalley
    @bryantwalley 4 года назад

    I'm glad you mentioned not using the tremolo arm. I completely stopped buying guitars with tremolo. If you had made the white one a hard tail I would be buying it now instead of writing this comment. Black pickup covers and knobs would have been a nice bonus.

    • @djt6546

      There are quite a few very good players like Pete who swear by the flattened trem approach. Partly because they don’t want a floating trem but also because of the unique take on feel and tone it gives. Worth trying if you like strats without the float 🤷‍♂️
