Ok so my fence blew down yesterday and it's been fairly stressful. Hope your fences and roofs are ok?

The first thing I noticed is that Fender added no wear at the 12th fret! I can't imagine any authentically worn guitar not having any wear on the 12th, which is where every string is part of the E blues pentatonic.

I sold my Road Worn strat 5 years ago and regretted it ever since. That guitar was my main tool for many years. I just called the guy I sold it to and asked if I can buy it back. He said he'd think about it and let me know in a few days. Wish me luck!

This is the closest that fender ever got to original strats (besides custom shops). I would say only one that sounds just right.

The older Road Worn 50's actually came with Tex-Mex pickups.

People (should) only care about how it sounds. Not where it's made. That being said, I own a Vintera road worn 50's Tele in Lake placid blue, and a 60's Vintera Road worn Strat in lake placid blue. I wouldn't trade them for anything. Thy're perfect together. I lack nothing with this combo.

I deeply regret selling my USA strat-plus! They've risen in value, and I've never seen another in the "pewter" colour.

Here we go… deep breath. Exhale. Ok, I sold a late 80’s brown burst Les Paul standard that had what looked like factory ordered Seymour Duncans….. and a Early 80’s Les Paul Custom in a metallic charcoal grey… Tim Shaw pafs. I’ve never seen another one like it…original paint on both. Sold them because I needed to build a new computer and had no money… sold them in the late 90’s for $600 for the LPC and $500 for the standard. The standard had an ohsc. Right after I did it I felt like I sold my children into slavery. Sad day.

I bought an Eric Johnson Strat in 08. I had gone in to buy a 62 AVRI-thin skin Strat. They're AVRI's with a thinner, all lacquer finish (there's debate as to whether the Thin Skin is all lacquer or has a polyester undercoat, even if you contact fender you'll be given different answers depending on who you get. I've repaired guitars for 20 years and I can tell you they do not have the poly. I had to a White EJ in that the owner wanted a refinish. I was able to remove all the finish using solvents. If there's was polyester there, it would NOT come off like that: it's plastic, you have to scrape it off) or

You’ve become one of my favourite RUclips guitar gurus. Your tone is terrific, your passion palpable, your communication concise.

How dafuq does everything you play sound good? Damn you've reached some John Mayer level of mastery on the guitar, it's unreal. You're an inspiration, Mr. Cordy.

Thanks for the sharing. I checked your video and then I brought a 2011 version where they still using rosewood with Olympic white. A nice guitar but I believe Chris changed the pickup and make the sound much more even better. And I love your playing too.

That's a very nice sounding Strat - it's the sustain that really stood out to me, obviously some of that is from the overdrive from the amp or pedal but it still clearly sustains well. You also look really comfortable on the neck of your original one.

Awesome intro and outro jams, especially when you came in with the high gain lead sound! My 2nd guitar was a Gibson ES-335, sunburst, bought around 1972 or 73, sounded great and was easy to play. By the late 70s it developed intonation problems, something happened with the neck and it wouldn’t tune right. I didn’t know a skilled guitar person, so took it to a Sam Ash nearby. When I got it back, it seemed like they didn’t do anything to it, tuning problem was still there. I eventually sold it to fund some other purchase. I bitterly regret selling it now, especially when I see similar guitars in shops going for like $4k or $5k!

I just bought a 50s road worn Vintera Strat this week. So far I love it!
