Did think I'd have a look perhaps for some of his non fiction as he was a professor of medieval history which is a favourite subject of mine too. Isn't there a little B grade movie about him too? My next suggestion comes from years of sound engineering; so with misgivings, I make a suggestion that might make your recording a bit less “digital” sounding by the ambient speaking noise- this is, you might find it useful to use a screen in front of your microphone. Or another possibly, is to apply a simple gated EQ setting w/ a notch up on the “attack”, a mostly open “sustain”, and a short to medium “release” thus tightening up the ambient noises & bringing your voice closer to the audience with a softer, analog feeling from your voice, as it is lovely. Of course, this won’t stop me listening, but it will sound nicer coming in through headphones. If this feels presumptive & audacious to propose, my apologies, only I read your request for commentary. I give my humble suggestion with the idea that your audience, myself included, may enjoy your work that much more. Cheers.
Hello Evelan. No, that's very useful, thank you. As you might tell there have been experiments (and changes) with sound over time. I think the "digital" quality on this one was made worse by accidentally applying too much noise reduction (and I think accidentally applying it twice). I'm happier with my recorded voice on other of my videos, but it has been hard to get a consistent sound. I shall try your suggestions for the EQ on my next recording. Cheers!

Don’t get me wrong it’s not that I don’t like male Fiction with mostly male characters it’s just when you have one woman in a story at least you have somebody to relate to.... Maybe you would enjoy a story if it’s all just women, I don’t know...I’m not sexist, I promise you! It’s just women were held back for so long and it was considered a joke for women to do the professions they do today and our generation are shocked when they find out how it was less than 100 years ago! Sorry getting too serious here! We take life, us humans, WAY too seriously!!!!!!! 🙃✌️

@@EnCryptedHorror My adorable Siamese cat, with the bluest eyes that I had from childhood, that I will never forgive myself because when I was 15 I wanted to get to the big city and I had plans on coming to collect her and I will never forgive myself for not fulfilling that intention. Then, she died of A broken heart because Siamese cats form a bond with one person, and I found out that after my departure every time my mother would say my name she would come running and Siamese cats are loud- they sound like babies, Then for my 21st my mother gave me what she knew I wanted I couldn’t afford at the time, a Japanese spitz which back then was worth a hell of a lot of money! (You cannot put a price on love!)Four times as much as they are now a days and she was so beautiful again with beautiful diamond light blue eyes at the brightest are for people thought she was a teddy bear When she was a puppy! Because I’ll be going to be all lightbulbs are equal so this is like having a child to be there is no difference in my eyes, I know the dog may not see things like that I’m not totally fucking thick... you must really think I’m crazy to believe in the reincarnation of animals but this is what I believe! I can’t believe I’m telling you this! it’s the loyalty and unconditional love that we get from animals, they feel emotion and how anyone can doubt that I just will never understand! Sorry too long again🤦🏼♀️🤐
