What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a non-scientific word that an everyday person came up with to describe the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps but much more pleasant and without the uncomfortable chills.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally induce this sensation in the viewer, often referred to as "tingles", but the videos also serve to provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

Not having asmr anymore is such a bummer... I don't get tingles as much as I did when I first started watching asmr videos. I still enjoy this type of video for relaxing or sleeping 😌
Just stop watching asmr for a week or two then come back to it and then you'll get your tingles back!

It’s crazy how he made this video while himself losing the ability to feel ASMR, but his dedication to world building and content creation is heart warming
I've been watching for years, 5 years of unrelenting, unwavering, high quality Asmr. Sometimes your videos ground me better than anything else. There's a really strange feeling I get when I look back at some of the uploads I've watched by you and see 3 or 4 year timestamps on videos I feel like I just watched the other night. But it's a good weird feeling so thank you for all you've done all these years.

gabriel hope your grandma can recover. My grandma almost died too but the doctors luckily found an artery that was blocked an quickly fixed the problem. I understand your grandma is in a very different situation but I hope she can recover nonetheless.
You have such a great way of making the viewers feel like you’re talking to them specifically. With the way you word things and how you plan out the interactions, and the lack of specific questions. You’ll ask if it’s our trigger and not follow up on it. It really helps with the illusion of the whole ASMR thing. :)

How do you film? What is that black room you're always in? It clearly isn't a green-screen, as you have green objects in the video. It's always perplexed me.

PK Trash green screen is a general term. You can have a chroma key to literally any color you want pretty much. Almost everyone uses green because it's popular of course. But it doesn't need to be. Also with the correct lighting put in the right places shadows go a long way to create contrast

I got mad asmr from Bob Ross as a kid. I always came on the show right at the end of his painting and never knew when it was on or what channel. It was always dissapointing because it felt so good but i had no idea what it was. I didnt see it or remember getting asmr again for years. Then in my late teens/early twenties i saw bob ross again and noticed i barely got a good feeling from it but sometimes when i smoked weed people around me would be doing something that strongly triggered it. Still had no idea what it was or how it happened, all i knew was that it felt super good and was really strong at the time. Then a couple years later i found one of Gentle Whispers vids and it really triggered it and it still wasnt called ASMR at the time. Then another couple years later asmr videos stsrted to appear and i noticed i could get the feeling quite a bit. But now adays its hit or miss and if i get too much asmr in a row it stops working for a little while like it has to regenerate or lower my tolerance or something.

I find ASMR videos relaxing most of the time, but I really have no idea what the tingles are. Never had them, but I still love these videos!
Its kind of like when someone runs their fingers over your skin as gently and delicately as possible, or maybe more like a chill when a cold draft hits you and your hairs stand up, except it's more of a relaxing sensation. At least, that's what I feel on the rare occasion that it hits me. Usually starts at the top of my scalp and moves down the side of my head. Sort of trippy, but its nice.
Yesterday i was grocery shopping and all of a sudden i lost my triggers at the dairy section " so the security spoke on the intercom if someone finds my triggers to please return them back " i was scared as hell !!!😨😱

I lost my tingles around 5 years ago. The only sound that triggers my tingles is sanding wood, but it's almost impossible to find sanding in modern ASMR videos. I have asked many ASMR artists to do sanding but so far no one has put a sanding segment in their videos. Woe is me! ...Update - you brushing the shoe got me really close to authentic tingles. Hot diggity dang.
Random thought: we’ve never seen ER in a situation where we could tell how tall he is... have we? How tall is Paul?
Find a video where a doorframe is visible and a coffee cup is being held. You can then take the two known variables and in a video where he walks through said doorframe, you can get the number of coffee cups tall he is.
