    One thing I noticed about it which deeply disturbs me:
    In the second picture it's outlined and visible on the Great Red Spot. The Spot is about the diameter of Earth, meaning this thing is the size of an Island like Jamaica or Sicily.
    All it would have to do to wipe out all life on earth is impact the planet. It's larger than the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs...

    • @stargazer-elite

      It’s still holds up quite well today. The only problem being in reality it’s kind of a 50-50 chance whether or not the viruses would actually kill the aliens since they evolved on a completely different planet. Their biology would be for all intensive purposes entirely different meaning although they wouldn’t have adapted to our diseases and viruses, etc., those viruses might not even know how to react to such a completely different environment. They might just die as soon as the aliens body. It just depends on luck.

  • @afluffydeathclaw2644
    @afluffydeathclaw2644 2 года назад +27

    Yeah, only way to win a fight like that is to reverse engineer the tech, and even then that would require a foundational theoretical knowledge of the physics their tech works off of. So yeah, pretty fucked unless we start producing whole generations of scientific savants _and_ a solid game plan for delaying the actually fight long enough to let those savants work. Or in plainer terms, a real life plot contrivance.

    If you ascribe to the Broken God being SCP-001, then you can thank the Destroyer for halting it's rampage. They may not be friendly with humanity, but they did save our asses with that one, though to what end is anybody's guess.
    Then again, since there's no way to know which of the multiple 001 files are the "real" 001 (or maybe they're all the real one but in different timelines or something because SCP is confusing like that) then that account may be false. I guess.
    No amount of scientists could ever lay out a cohesive plotline with how the SCPverse considers the concept of "canon". Still a kickass universe, though!

      Dark Forest Theory has one massive flaw: there is no stealth in space.
      Even if there is a way, and we've simply not discovered it yet, this would imply other species wouldn't discover it either by the time they invent mass industrialization, radio communications, or any of the many other things that could serve as "give aways" at long distance to other species.
      There's also the fact that not all species would come up with the Dark Forest Theory, let alone fallow it.
      And finally, the fact that anyone paranoid enough to commit genocide preemptively as an act of selfdefense from the possibility of a genocidal foe... would they wait for confirmation that a planet had intelligent technological life on it? No. They'd just send a relativistic projectile to blow up any planet that looked like it had a potential biosphere, even a very early/primitive one, because that's better safe than sorry. Hell, just start mass producing RKMs and send one to every celestial body they find, just to be sure.

    Scp-4568-1 talks about the great evil and destruction that is coming because of humanity thus seeks to destroy mankind to stop it!
    Personally I theorize that the great evil maybe scp-001 the scarlet king that gains more power and dominance through human knowledge and understanding, perhaps that’s the reason the malfunctioning destroyer was sent!

    • @Mrsalt7500

      Well, considering multiverse theory this SCP foundation could have a sctrict “no anomalous usage” policy because of some past tragedy. There are also some theories that imply 2399 can hijack systems and influence scps. All in all believe what you will, there’s enough fluff for everyone.

  • @MidnightDStroyer
    @MidnightDStroyer Год назад

    "Yep, we're hosed."
    ~Just about everyone in the cast of Futurama
    Seriously, if you want to talk about how big of an advantage advanced technology is over your opponent, just consider pretty much any of the US fighting in east-Europe/west-Asia against military that are only 15-20 years behind with their tech. Had technology been equal, such conflicts could stretch out for years but even a difference of 15-20 years in equipment can & does shorten that down to weeks or days. The main reason current wars last years at all in those areas is because the US government has people who *want* to drag it out on purpose for fun & profit...When Trump was President, he *ended* ISIS as a viable threat but after that, the current government has left the slight remnants alone to rebuild & in some cases, even deliberately help to equip & fund (with OUR money) the opposition over there.
    The point is just the way Old Man expressed it...Just as relatively slight differences in technology levels have huge impact among humans only, stop & consider what kind of tech difference the must be between humans & interstellar travelers. Heck, if they're capable of FTL travel at all, they don't even need to use any engineering in weapons tech to destroy us; all they would have to do is aim their ship at a junction-point in Earth's normal orbit while going at light speed, release their trash just before dropping down to sub-light speed & veering off. Just the kinetic impact of light-speed trash will obliterate our globe.
    And it would happen too fast for any of us to even *detect* it before we're hit...
