I love the twist with Ena and Rajaion. There was actual hinting with Ashnard saying that Ena causes Rajaion to be restless during one scene. It's subtle, but it's a nice touch.
It's a rare post-final boss plot twist that actually works, mainly because, like you said, it was foreshadowed. And I also love how they play with your assumptions that it's a Wyvern.
So... funny story. I'm currently trying to record all of Ashnard's special boss quotes. The only ones I have left are Tibarn and Giffca. I've re-played all of Endgame again, picking them.... And BOTH times, Nasir Wrath + Resolve crits and kills Berserk Ashnard in one turn before they even ARRIVE. Nasir, STOP BEING AWESOME!!! (Also note, I stupidly saved over my Moment of Fate file, meaning I can't easily show Ena's dialogue without replaying the whole game. Dang it. Either I just list it in the comments, or get someone to send me footage of it)
Have you considered removing provoke from Nasir so Ashnard doesn't constantly fight him? That way he doesn't get targeted (hopefully) and Ashnard won't fall quickly. Also, that is unfortunate of what happened to that save file. Hopefully, someone was up to your point with Ena.
Mad Enhancement has sure made Ashnard look downright psychotic. So Tibarn is flying Mercenary, Naesala a flying Myrmidon and Giffca a ground based Wyvern Rider in terms of stats. Tibarn just oozes coolness with every flight and the ruffian king look fits him like a glove. I am really looking forwards to when this guy tears into the opposition in Radiant Dawn. Naesala is likewise very interesting as you don’t know whenever or not to like him for his kinieving nature and his rare moments of decency or to hate him for stabbing everybody in the back. Although that was probably the point of him which is better than some characters where I get a similar feeling that I’m sure wasn’t intentional. A shame there isn’t more Lions than just Giffca. His role as Gallia’s Black Ops which is appropriate considering that he is Black Lion. So for Laguz are fur colours similar to our hair colours?. And considering how direct the Beast Tribe is shown to be in Radiant Dawn I am surprised they even have Black Ops. Reducing a sapient being like that to a Feral mount of all things really shows how messed up Ashnard is or at the very least Ashnard is deviously smart enough to do something so foul to deliberately anger and goad Goldoa into attacking him and getting involved in the war. So Rajajon is a tool to the end for that purpose and he doesn’t care what he has to do to get them involved as long as they do. Didn’t people use to think that Archean Wyverns were things like degenerated Manaketes. So they sort of reused a popular and dark fan theory for Ashnard’s mount. I can imagine how sad Ena must feel as she has just gotten her mate back after a long while away from him and not only is he dying but he isn’t even aware that he’s dying and suggests going on a trip that they’ll never take. Must be heartbreaking to see somebody with so little time left say that. Now for a short memorial to Rajajon Here lies Rajajon of Goldoa Loved his mate, Loved his family, he died at piece and will be surely missed
I was surprised when you picked Naesala, but it makes sense when you explain it. He is interesting from a story standpoint. And of course he needs another opportunity to backstab someone. Oh. Yes, I did think Ena was in love with Ashnard when she said she needed to be near her love. I was wondering what the hell she liked about him. The truth makes a lot more sense. It's really tragic when someone who's dying talks as if they have a future, and makes plans for tomorrow.
Some universes handwave that by saying heal staves don't work on people who are outright dying. I feel like at least one FE game said some plot-dying character was beyond heal staves.
+BigKlingy in fates Sakura and osoma gone into that issue that yeah you do heal them but your only prolonging their death and that your wasting precious first aid on someone who’s going to die and you’re only making them suffer
Nice. Naesala is my favorite pick as well. He's just an awesome character, and sooo fun to use in trial maps. The sad music in this game is devastating T_T
If there could be any animations of FE transformations, I'd probably pick Anthony's Faceless transformation and Ashnard going Berserk. I think I know something involving Ena and Rajaion in Radiant Dawn
Ashnard is really a creepy, vile bastard. He is not as crusty and old as Nemesis, but he is pretty bad. He literally turned a Person into a mount just because he wanted to be cool. The only one who can be cool while riding an Cool Wyvern is Claude and he is not in this game unfortunately. Also the scene with Ena and Rajaion is both beautiful and sad. This is IMO one of the best moments in the entire franchise and I do mean it this way. A cool twist for a remake would be if Ashanrd dismounted and attacked us on foot with 10 movement of course and have Rajaion be laying on the ground as an obstacle, kinda like an statue. Finally Ashnard stays dead and no one ever ressurects him. Not even an Goddess who fortunately didn't do it. Imagine if Ashera ressurected him and used him as an weapon.
The annoying thing about the Ena scene is the translation made it less clear that he died. Rajaion dying is important to Radiant Dawn and a lot of English-speaking fans were confused about this.
...You say that the English version is unclear as to Rajaion's fate but there is one line that solves that. Nasir says "He and Ena WERE engaged to be married" If Rajaion survived he would have said "He and Ena ARE engaged to be married:
@@小彭-t5n The Galdr of Rebirth returned Rajaion's sanity and made his final moments peaceful. This is indeed important to Radiant Dawn's plot, however I will not spoil that. I'll just say that every dragon on Tellius was influenced by Rajaion's death.
7:12 if I was given a choice between the three I'd pick Neasala because I like doubling Idc if hes an objective damage loss I just think hes neat 9:38 Oh no! He has 10 luck now!!
The Japanese version has a LOT more ellipsis. I guess the localizers didn't have knowledge of the sequel's development and didn't know his death would be a plot point there.
1:30 An evolution from max hatred instead of max happiness. 8:25 ...You want another Naesala backstab. 23:45 He totally looks like a grown up version of [redacted]. 26:35 This is only a single line yet it demonstrates self awareness and self doubt; Reyson does not believe himself to be even-keeled enough to safely possess the Medallion, likely due to his prejudice that he so recently and strongly held.
23:45 Yeah, in hindsight the connection is pretty obvious. 26:35 I guess there's also the fact that Reyson tends more towards Chaos than Order due to Tibarn's influence.
I'm only a little bit way through this video but how is Giffca able to hurt Ashnard in a story sense (I see why he would in a gameplay sense)? Is he a Duke/Count in Gallia or something? I have a feeling I missed something
See the unused content video for more on Nealuchi. Though a lot of people have Bond Supports with unused characters or NPCs, e.g. Titania has one with Greil.

I actually figured it out just as I was trying to sleep. 24:06 That makes a lot of sense. The main question is, how did Ashnard manage to do that to him? Though if he managed that before the rest of the dragons were made feral, it would kind of partially explain how they managed to get so many dragons... 25:31 That dialogue sounded like he was almost going to recover! That didn't sound much like a death speech at all! So, it's just about over. I know we're going straight into Radiant Dawn right afterwards, but it's still a little bittersweet to be reaching the ending. Still, I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out.
1:20 And you were right. 1:39 He still had the creepy voice in Birthright. 4:29 I... really don't know. hey by the way did you watch Critical role Yesterday. spoilers i guess. I mean Matt already announced it but...still Sumalee was amazing. As soon as she started talking i was amazed. I wish Nila traveled with the group, she is so good. Ashley is amazing, even Liam kinda wanted her to stay on for even longer.
She was great. Also... That WMG on TV Tropes about Lorenzo being an Oni might just be confirmed. Small, eaten human skull in his room and Oni's apparently like eating children. Looking up the MM profile, Onis can cast Cone of Cold once per day. Blue Onis (which he probably is) tend towards Lawful Evil, which fits with his authoritative stance and love of exerting power over others. The indent in his bed was abnormally large. Onis have a glaive, which is the only piece of equipment that shifts to match their new size if they polymorph into a humanoid. Seems pretty likely.
BigKlingy Spolier No doubt he is. That mean Lorenzo is even tougher we thought. They can cast darkness and invisibility at will. They can also charm person. We could have another Briarwoods charming Grog situation. this is getting to risky. I love it.
I got Ashnard down on Player phase and had a panic attack when Tibarn didnt show up immediately Also ike dodged TWO attacks in a row from crazy ashnard ALSO 2 AETHERS IN A ROW
So we get the choice of 3 gotohs, neat. I'm just wondering if all beast laguz kings are lions, since they seem to be the most rare and powerful. The final scene of this chapter is really heart warming. But sometimes, there aren't happy endings.
As Ulki says, in Laguz society the strongest becomes king, and Lions are naturally the strongest of the Beast Tribes. It'd be cool if there was at least one Cat King in the past though.
21:20 Ah, I figured that the dragon was a feral laguz. Ashnard spoke of it by name so affectionatly, I thought it was probably a laguz he broke personally. But.. wow, I thought Kjelle's name needed voice acting, how the hell do you pronounce Rajaion? Rah-jay-on? Ra-hai-on? 26:07 So... I guessing they're saving the "kill the big bad dark god" finale for Radiant Dawn?
You know, I wish the Laguz Royals got a longer and more epic monologue before the fight with Berserk Ashnard. Thing is, I can only think of one, and it would be completely out of character for Naesala to say the next thing. I'm giving Naesala a "In the name of the moon" speech. "I am the black wings of Kilvas, to you, Ashnard, who would dare do what you have done to my brethren, I will grant you no quarter! You will face I, the the Shaded Flash, the Black Death, King Kilvas: Naesala. And you will die for it!" Here's what an actual speech by Naesala would probably sound like. "(Gods, I am not paid enough for this) Hello, army of Cremia. Now, I happen to know that some of you are worried that I will betray you for King Dein. Well, fear not. I have made a deal with my good friends Tibarn and Reyson: I will not betray you and your army for money, my life, or power. In fact, I will assist you and your army until this wars end. And possibly after this war, if it benefits Kilvas." Meanwhile in Kilvas: a Raven begins to cry. And they don't know why. All jokes aside, and now on to speculation. I personally think that Ashnard is still sane when he uses the medallion is because a berserker rage isn't really his worst trait. But instead, his worst trait is a pathological desire for power, and to be defeated by someone more powerful than him. This handily explains why he really only gets a speed boost and strength boost, strength is literally everything to him. The health boost can also be explained as his dragon getting more powerful. Maybe. And as such, this also explains why he's so.... Incoherent with his dying words. Also, it seems like Ashnard really likes dragons. Hidden depths? Maybe?
Yeah, Ike's line there is weird. I think it should've been something like "he's still in control". And his lines are one of the best reasons to pick Naesala.
Ashnart has become the stuff of my nightmares look like he can snap a tree with one hand. I mean Ike asks if he "was" part of the dragon tribe so it's still kind of implied........(also that art was beautiful) Now i wonder what Jill and Harr are riding on. Unrelated but speaking of evil kings Walhart ghb confirm but seriously speaking i am kind of annoyed at the new Olivia alt but i guess it's okay I decided to check all the characters in heroes and noticed that Fates and Radiant Dawn are the only games with an unplayable enemy character if you discount trial units and add Grima Robin(s)(since Walhart is playable) and now i wonder who you would chose for those games?
I remember when I first saw this portrait. It was a long time before I played Hard Mode, so Ashnard getting a second form there surprised me. I agree, the art is great. I'm just glad Sumia is finally in, I spammed orbs until I got her just to show IS that she's not totally hated by the fandom. As for more Tellius characters, my main picks are Marcia, Jill, Edward and Haar. But also some Laguz, if possible.
Horrible idea for this boss on Maniac: Ashnard jumps off Rajaion, and they become not one, but TWO overly destructive bosses. Oh, & Rajaion gets an exclusive Breath that's 1-3 range. And Ashnard doubles even NAESALA! Oh, & did I mention he has WAY more skills than a small troop, including Wrath, Vantage, Resolve, & SO much more!
So Ashnard has used the power of the Dark Chip and has become Dark Ashnard. Ashnard, you fool! You'll permanently lose one of your max hit poin- oh. Oh... He gained max HP. And he's running 60 Attack! Even a max Defense Ike goes down in two hits. Other than that, the fight's pretty much the same. Berserk Ashnard fell really quickly to Wrath / Resolve Ike, so my laguz royal of choice didn't get a chance to do anything. But just in case things took a turn for the worse, I went with Tibarn because I like him the most. I suppose if you have spare Energy Drops for some reason, Naesala can do a bit more damage than otherwise, but I don't know. His specialty compared to the other two laguz royals just doesn't work against Berserk Ashnard as much. We've already seen Tibarn and Naesala in action throughout the story. For that reason, maybe I should have picked Giffca. 7:29 Yeah, I looked through the gallery after the end of my run and thought that was the reason why I still had one '???' left. 9:05 "Jeez Laweez! What is that!?" - Naesala Lombardi, Fire Emblem 64. Naesala's lines in this fight are gold.
lol. Dark Chips don't seem that good in BN4, but apparently they can break the game majorly in 5, probably due to Chaos Unisons letting you use them without going evil. (I think) That's happened to me before. It keeps happening while I'm trying to record Tibarn and Giffca's boss conversations. He's decent for the trial maps, due to doubling everything. That's a big reason to pick him, he's also the best against Ashnard, besides not being able to fly. 7:29 Stefan and Giffca are the only two you need to unlock, as both are the only people you never see fighting unless you recruit them. 9:05 I can kind of see him having a similar voice to Assault Falco.
I forgot that Naesala tries to pull a "Look over there!" on Ashinard. I choked on my drink laughing when I saw that.
Objection, Your Honor! Naesala's 9th & 10th backstabs don't count. A backstab only counts if the target falls for it.

Maybe.
Ike: But he’s still sane…
Ashnard: GRRAAAGGGHHHHHHH
Ike: Yep, totally still sane.
Everyone: Really Ike?
Ike: Well he's no more insane than he was before
That scene always gets me always sad for Ena....but a glimmer of something lovely for her revealed later (no spoilers)
Maybe?
Ashnard... only likes dragons for their reputation as being the strongest Laguz. You'll see the full implications of this in RD.
1:46 I don’t think sane is the correct word... Also Naesela is hilarious
Yeah, Ike's line there is weird. I think it should've been something like "he's still in control".
And his lines are one of the best reasons to pick Naesala.
I wonder if or gets a remake we could side with ashnard . sadly I believe that will never happen
Damn your Nasir is tough!! Was it the skills you put on him? Its been a long time since I played but remember my Nasor being very underwhelming.
Wrath + Resolve. This combo also works wonders on Ike but means he can't use Aether.
I used all three but Giffca was hands down the best against the Mad King. Plus who the hell wouldnt want a Black Lion!?!
He's one of my favourites to use, because you never even SEE a lion otherwise. Plus, picking him guarantees him transfer bonuses to Strength in RD.
Which pick of the laguz royals is considered canon?
There's no clear canon here, though I personally like to go for Naesala because it gives him a sort-of redeeming moment.
So BigKlingy, what Fire Emblem game to you gonna play after that? I hope is the sequel, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
I've already said I'm going to play RD.
You could try to use 4 units to box ashnard in. Im you could had use gatrie and left him with a generic iron sword
Ashnart has become the stuff of my nightmares look like he can snap a tree with one hand.
I mean Ike asks if he "was" part of the dragon tribe so it's still kind of implied........(also that art was beautiful)
Now i wonder what Jill and Harr are riding on.
Unrelated but speaking of evil kings Walhart ghb confirm but seriously speaking i am kind of annoyed at the new Olivia alt but i guess it's okay
I decided to check all the characters in heroes and noticed that Fates and Radiant Dawn are the only games with an unplayable enemy character if you discount trial units and add Grima Robin(s)(since Walhart is playable) and now i wonder who you would chose for those games?
I remember when I first saw this portrait. It was a long time before I played Hard Mode, so Ashnard getting a second form there surprised me.
I agree, the art is great.
I'm just glad Sumia is finally in, I spammed orbs until I got her just to show IS that she's not totally hated by the fandom. As for more Tellius characters, my main picks are Marcia, Jill, Edward and Haar. But also some Laguz, if possible.
Im more surprised you didn't use ashera staff with elicia
When will you be starting the Radiant Dawn walkthrough?
Probably soon, I've just got to make all the bios, which I'll be working on while recording the trial maps.
Without going too far, I think your idea of Ashnard and Rajaion becoming separate bosses is a cool idea.
BigKlingy But its Fire Emblem. The idea of "going too far" is a foreign concept.
Naesala's hobby is Haircutting...?
Why? And who's?
(I think)
That's happened to me before.
If you give neasala the energy drop he he seems better than tibarn. Hell give him 2 and his still better plus an extra coin
Yeah, i for sure thought Ena was madly in love with Ashnard.
18:06 that's weird, vortex has a tome icon, neat i guess.
