for everyone in the comments who are offended by the creator folding the pages: it’s their book, they can do what they like with it. it’s okay if you don’t want to fold the pages of your book, but just because you don’t doesn’t mean that everyone shouldn’t.
honestly, I cannot say how much I admire and respect people that annotate books in a cute, deep, important way. I just write things like “KISSKISSKISS”, “T+A?”, “SERIOUS ANGER ISSUES”, “UNHINGED?!” or “SHUT UP OMG”. I don’t usually write in all caps, these are all examples btw
I really wanna start annotating my books but I treat them like untouchable portals to new worlds and cringe when I think of writing in them. But I think I’ll start with some books I had to buy from for college bc I’m re reading a lot of them I enjoyed.
i used to be really protective over my books too! i think i began annotating around the time i started buying second hand, which is weird cus i dislike annotating used books over new ones haha
I collect beautiful editions of my favourite books and then annotate the living heck out of the regular mass produced printed copies 😅I feel better that way 😂
i personally love the way dog eared books look, though i know it’s the biggest bookish sin for most ppl so i don’t when reading borrowed books from the library or my friends.
no bc THANKYOUUUU SO MUCCHHH OMGGGGG, i found dog earing the pages actually effective for me since highlighting a bunch of stuff at once always distract me a lot😭😭😭👐
i love how i've gone from "how could you do that to a book??" to "it's their property but no thanks" to "what a beautiful way to engage with the book" lol
I mean dog ear all you want, but you could also put a tab there as you read, wouldnt be too distracting and you can even tab the exact spot on the page you want to go back and write/highlight afterwards.
I also annotate after reading a book, but i like books basically untouched so i dont write in these just remamber what was special about the sentence which i tabbed and as my bookmark i use a piece of paper and everytime i like a quote i just put a little poece of that piece of paper in the book (it doesnt fall out and i sometimes just mark what i wanted to remamber with pencil but always know why i marked that page after reading it anyways)
I dog ear the pages, and I highlight the pages as well and when I finish the book, I write a brief summary in my notes so I can recall the things that I learned in the book. Nothing is absolutely wrong in doing this, calm down everyone.
Wait does it bleed through? That’s the one thing I’m worried about when annotating. Even if I put something between where I writing and the next page it will bleed into the sheet that it shares.
First things first, you can do anything with your book. But it makes me uncomfortable folding the pages of my book. Even writing on it with a pen, creating any permanent mark. It's too much chaos. I prefer writing notes on a post it. Or sticking tags. Underlining with a pencil. Call me weird but that's what suits me. I like keeping my books looking fresh so that if someone else has to read it , the book won't feel cluttered or overpowered.

FRL their logic is like "IM on a diet so I'll get mad at you if YOU eat a cookie that you baked for YOURSELF."

I dog ear the fuck out of my pages! Thanks for the vid! 💕
Heyy there... Can you give a brief idea..?
Like what do you write in the book...and what you underline in it..?
I mean dog ear all you want, but you could also put a tab there as you read, wouldnt be too distracting and you can even tab the exact spot on the page you want to go back and write/highlight afterwards.
Imagine tabbbing at once a 800 page books. But great tips though ❤
I 100% know every book worm in a 1000 mile radius felt a disturbance.

Im slowly filling my youtube shorts and tik tok recommendation with book annotations! Great video! I cant wait to see more💕
Bending the corners is honestly painful for me to see. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s like nails on a chalkboard.
I love this ❤❤
Ooooh I love this 🙈
See, I wanna annotate my books but I’m so scared I’ll mess up- 😭

those tabs are beautiful 💝!! where do you get them from?
i buy them online! they're on shopee or amazon :))
What's that pen??

i make sure to use pens and highlighters that don't bleed! especially when the pages are thinner :D
where did you get the ruler type thing which the tabs were stuck on?
it comes with the tabs! you can find a lot of them online and in different styles :DD
I’m still confused
do u tap every page you wrote something on it or just the ones you think u want to return to?
just the ones i wanna return to!
