Oh really? If thats true then thats not good. A lot of the sticky tabs that I have for this purpose tend to fall off over time so it doesn't seem like they are sticky enough to cause problems but thats just my limited experience so far. Perhaps people use stronger stuff? Does it have something to do with the stickiness or something else?
@@TatyanaVogtthe glue is harmful. It sinks into the book and damages the paper over the years because of a chemical reaction. The colour of the paper changes and it can cause the paper to rip easier. Some kind of glues can even cause mold. It doesn't matter how long the sticky note stays on. We have a strict non sticky note policy at work. I believe that everyone can do with their books what they want to do, but I just wanted to add that this happens a lot. But note cards are wonderful !
As someone who absolutely hates the thought of damaging books, this was very helpful! For some reason I had never thought to title my tabs where it pokes out of the book👀
I love doing the key for color coding tabs in the beginning. I don’t like writing directly on the cover page or anything. I am totally going to do the removable one! Because sometimes I change my mind towards the beginning about what each color means. This is great. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah, I also really like having it on a separate paper so I can use it as a bookmark and have an easy reminder of what the colors are. There is the risk of misplacing it though soo, I dunno. lol Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment!
I think Pencils and Note Cards are the best options here, at least for me. Thanks for this video, I don't know how the idea of using note cards never occurred to me. Best to write Title and page number on top.
Yeah, love the note cards. I do notes for multiple pages so I just put the tile of the book and a number so I can easily keep the cards in order. Thanks for watching and happy reading!
Thanks for the tips. I've never annotated a book, but really what to think more indepth about what I'm reading and the thoughts I have while I'm reading a book. Take care 😊
Its nice to have non destructive options, but I also write in my books. I think its an experience and can be worth it sometimes. Really just depends. Thanks for watching and happy reading!
AHAHAHAHAHAHA, I really enjoyed this book (even with some of the cheese factor and some things that didn't fully make sense) but I HAVE hate tabbed different books in the past. It can be a great way to enjoy a so, so book, tabbing things that dont make sense, make you mad, or whatever. lol. Fortunately that wasn't the case with Seven Faceless Saints. Anyway, thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment!
Yeah, I totally get it, there are some books that I want to add notes but dont want to risk so its nice having options. Thanks for watching and good luck!
This video is beneficial! I have always wanted to annotate my books, but I hesitate to ruin their quality due to highlighting and writing. It's different when annotating research papers. HEHE! Thank you for making this video!
Thank you for showing a wide variety of options. I can't seem to find a way that works for me. I don't like covering up the words in the books at all. I haven't decided if I want to write directly on the pages. I'm thinking I may just have to cut my sticky notes to be thin enough to fit on the edge of the page and then write my notes on them.
Yeah, most of the time I tend to enjoy writing all up in my books as well, but I have a few special editions that I've wanted to annotate but didn't want to mess up so I figured I'd share the different techniques I've used over the years. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment!
Yeah, when they are not dried out they can be pretty cool to use! I would do some experiments with them though before jumping in cause it sounds like they behave a little different depending on your climate. Thanks for watching and good luck! 💖
Yeah, thats the thing that always held me back. I try to be selective about which books I do it with, and when in doubt I just don't. If I like it enough I can annotate it on a re-read. Granted I have been using these non destructive methods when I think I might want to return a book. As usual, thank so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing, do you know if its all kinds? I haven't had any issues, so I'm wondering if there are specific brands that have too much stick to them. Maybe I've been lucky since the ones that I have dont stick that well.
@@TatyanaVogt Sorry for the very late reply. I do not know which brands do and do not damage the paper. There are not many brands in my country. Some don't even have a brand name. Just be careful of heat, compression etc. I just wanted to warn people. EDIT: Typo.
Glad I could help. My favorite for that case is the cards or slips of papers. I have an index system where I am able to save the notes for all of the books I do or dont physically own. Started doing it for everything that I read recently and its been really nice. Anyway, happy reading! 💖💖
As someone who works in a library i can say that sticky tabs are more harmful to the books than actually writing in them.😅

I don't like that the notecard can fall out and get lost.
@@JesusLightsYourPath you can just compile them using stapler or rubber band
Came back to this, will try colour coded note cards 👍🏽
Good luck!

I have to read 7 faceless saints just because it’s been tabbed to the point of looking like confetti 😂
