Great vid. I too just got these and for those who are looking for a place to mount the ballast, keep in mind that the diver side cord is short. I stuck the ballast to the side of the washer tank, because i wanted it away from the elements but barely had room to plug it in once I got everything buttoned up. I wish Subispeed made the connection longer.
Hi! will have mine in a couple of days. Quick question though, how to wire it so that its a normal DRL, means ON when headlights are off. How to wire it when I want it to be always on? Thanks!
Awsome video I have the subiespeed clight as Drl harness with the add a fuse In it can I just tap into it for the power. Just cut the add a fuse off? Thanks for the help
hmm... they were spot on like OEM.. you sure all the spots snapped in? It is a lot tighter than OEM and takes more force to get all the clips pushed in.
Hey man, great videos! Question, it looks like you have the Garageline Strut Tower Bar also, did/do you get some popping noises when turning the wheel from the strut tower area? I noticed some after install.
Thanks for the video, made my life a lot easier. However, I have a question Steemax, how did you route the "passenger" extended wire. I am thinking of routing the passenger extended wire above (close to the hood) but it seems that it might be barely long enough. Did you get 2 extended wires (1 for passenger side and 1 for the driver side). Thanks
Steemax. Thanks for the reply. Did you have to take the bumper off? If not, how did you route it behind the bumper? I am trying to avoid taking off the bumper.
Stupid question.... so you tapped the red wire to the low beam (so it'll turn on when you turn on your low beam only?). What if i want to turn it as a DRL, should I tap the red wire to the high beam 15W fuse?
Thinking of getting these with the sweeping turn signal function. Do you think its possible to make them my primary DRL's and be able to turn off the high beam DRL?
Hello, I recently ordered this for my brothers WRX & I was just wondering if I want to run this only for when the low beams come on where would the wiring go? I disabled & unplugged the DRL for his car. & for when the high beams turn on, I want the bezels to turn off. Let me know, thank you!
+Justin Kim hi Justin, you would need to use the fuze right next to the one I plugged into that I show in the video for the DRL. Unfortunately I'm not very sure how you would get them to turn off when you hit the high beams. ... Perhaps in that case you can tap them directly into the DRL wiring by the head lights instead of the fuze box.
looks really good on your car!! I have the same bezel with yours, do you know how to make the bezel on all the time even though I do not turn on the headlight? THanks@!!
Hey bro did you ever figure this out? Just got mine and Im thinking about cutting the long add a fuse wire and tapping into the quick disconnect wire. Want them on all the time lol.
+haw1144 there's a flat shelf like spot on the windshield wiper fluid container i double sided it too. I'm not too worried about heat, it's a thick container and the ballast only gets warm. I routed the wire through the bottom of the bumper, pulled all the pop clips and wired it that way.
Hey Steemax, Is there a way to get them to only run when the headlights are off? Just act exactly like the normal DRL, and turn off when the headlights go on. I'm thinking of getting these as the switchbacks and want to make sure there won't be any issues.
+MaulKiller54 hello, yes you can easily do that. In the video I show two fuse options. One is for DRL and the other for low beams. All you need to do is use the DRL fuse spot.
Bought the same thing with the extra quick connect but something tells me I still need the subispeed drl harness to get the c light drl feature, what is the quick connect harness really for? Is it only used if you already have the subispeed drl harness?
+Houston Wilson hey Houston, yes you will need the Subispeed DRL harness if you also want to run your c lights as DRLs. The quick connect is just so you can run the bezels as always on with both DRLs and low beams
Dont think I would have gone with the subispeed just because they are glossy. If i do these or will be the ones with matte finish. Can't remember the company tho. They look awesome tho.
Looks like it's an H11... straight from their site "Since most of our customers have non-JDM vehicles, we've adapted these to have a standard H11 connected on the end."
+skier6666 you would just have to use the DRL fuse right next to the low beam one I pointed out in the video. Then you unplug the DRL harness near the passenger side fog light and horn behind the bumper. That will make it so your bezels are the only DRLs (your high beams will still work)
So the way you have it setup is always on or only when you put your headlights on? I want to run them all the time as a DRL and have them coming in a few days, any help would rock!
Hey, I have them setup to only turn on with headlights. If you want them always on you would tap into both the fuses I showed in the video instead of how I only tapped into the 30a
Steemax - hey what do you have to tap into to make them stay on with parking lights also? or does it stay on automatically with them when you tap into the low beam?
+Travis Villanueva well you would need to actually have them tapped into both the high and low beams in that case if I'm not mistaken. The parking lights are your DRLs originally
Steemax thanks! ok so to make sure we're on the same page. when I turn one click to turn on clights and taillights (noheadlights) I want the bezels to turn on also. So basically come on with first click and stay on with 2nd click (headlights).
+Travis Villanueva hmm that's a tough one because I haven't seen it discussed but I believe they run off the same fuse as the low beams ... So you would be right. I have never tried to see if mine work this way. I'll give it a shot when I'm home from work today. You can private message me and I'll let u know what I find
great video, any idea which fuse slot would you use to turn the bezels on when selecting the first (notch) on the headlight lever before selecting the 2nd (notch) to turn actual headlights on?
Steemax have you emailed them? I just emailed VMR for some rims and just got sponsored. You have way more subscribers than me and you get good views. You gotta hit them up.
+WRX Channel interesting i found they matched my 6k HID's pretty darn well actually. I think the bezels are advertised as 5500 on Subispeed's sight if I'm not mistaken
I don't need it... I don't need it... I NEED IT
Thanks man, and that's where i put mine as well... the wires barley reach each area.
holy crap your install video beats the pants off the subispeed install video...THANKS
Man Steemax you made the install look so easy. I wish I can install these Bezels just as easy on my car as well. Great job man.
Thanks Robert! It really was pretty easy... hardest part was routing the wire from one side to the other
Thanks for this video. I was debating on ordering them. But now that I saw the final product I'm sold. Ordering mine right now. Looks awesome.
cool I got the same one and barely got my Led turn signals
I am going to be adding a set soon. Just need a way / space to clear coat the bottom grill or swap it for a Grillcraft one
Looks great!
+Do Boy's Garage thanks!
Cool video
Bro get yourself a set of race ramps for low profile cars. Makes working on the car in the driveway super easy
+Boosted Beast I really need some. I have rhino Ramps and they are useless at this ride height.
Hi! will have mine in a couple of days. Quick question though, how to wire it so that its a normal DRL, means ON when headlights are off. How to wire it when I want it to be always on? Thanks!
Excellent! Thanks.
nice this definitely on my wish list !
Pretty awesome dude, it looks really good!!
Thanks dude!
Gotta get these ASAP!!!
Yess!
Man those look good
The Led light strip(s) need a 30A fuse? That sounds like a lot for "simple" leds.
Good video.. just got these the other day love them
Wow.... Super awesome!!!!!
wow those are a nice touch!
Thanks for the video.
awesome bro. looks good. i need to purchase it as well.
Nice video! Nice wheels too - what wheels are those?
Very Slick!
Good video, and car looks great.
Can't say I'm a fan of that "JC Whitney" grill though.
+BRIAN MCGRUFF thanks man! And haha you're not the only one, I do like it though
I installed aftermarket LED DRL’s. Can you have the fog drls on simultaneously?
Awsome video I have the subiespeed clight as Drl harness with the add a fuse In it can I just tap into it for the power. Just cut the add a fuse off? Thanks for the help
+Shawncey Stiles Subaru thank you! yup you can just tap into that wire and they will power up with your c lights
Nice looking.
Thanks!
How was the fitment for you? I just installed mine couple days ago and seems to be a little gap where the turn signals are on both sides🤔
hmm... they were spot on like OEM.. you sure all the spots snapped in? It is a lot tighter than OEM and takes more force to get all the clips pushed in.
Hey man, great videos! Question, it looks like you have the Garageline Strut Tower Bar also, did/do you get some popping noises when turning the wheel from the strut tower area? I noticed some after install.
+Brandon Gage Thanks Brandon, this is actually the Cusco strut brace, and I haven't experienced any noises at all.
Ok cool thanks. I have the Garageline and I guess they are almost identical in appearance.
+Brandon Gage no problem, I hope you get it resolved, that would annoy me lol
Thanks for the video, made my life a lot easier.
However, I have a question Steemax, how did you route the "passenger" extended wire. I am thinking of routing the passenger extended wire above (close to the hood) but it seems that it might be barely long enough. Did you get 2 extended wires (1 for passenger side and 1 for the driver side). Thanks
+Peter C hey Peter! The wire did seem to short to wire from the top, I wired mine from the bottom (behind the bumper).
Steemax. Thanks for the reply. Did you have to take the bumper off? If not, how did you route it behind the bumper? I am trying to avoid taking off the bumper.
+Peter C I didn't take it off, I just undid the clips along the bottom and tucked the wire up into it. Pretty easy
So if you tap the white wire it makes it a drl?
Stupid question.... so you tapped the red wire to the low beam (so it'll turn on when you turn on your low beam only?). What if i want to turn it as a DRL, should I tap the red wire to the high beam 15W fuse?
Did you find an answer on this?
Nice video!

Steemax hey but next time you do some electrical work on your WRX disconnect the the battery from your car....my 2cent...great work
How did you run the passenger cable?
That Kalashnikov T-shirt tho!
looks really good on your car!! I have the same bezel with yours, do you know how to make the bezel on all the time even though I do not turn on the headlight? THanks@!!
+Lawrence Fong Thanks Lawrence! I'm not 110% positive but I believe you need to tap them into both your DRls and Low beams
Hey bro did you ever figure this out? Just got mine and Im thinking about cutting the long add a fuse wire and tapping into the quick disconnect wire. Want them on all the time lol.
Mannn how did you route it to the other side? I can’t figure it out for the life of me
かっこいい!!good( ´∀`)b
Where did you mount the ballast? And did you run the extension to the passenger side thru the engine bay or thru the bottom of the bumper?
+haw1144 there's a flat shelf like spot on the windshield wiper fluid container i double sided it too. I'm not too worried about heat, it's a thick container and the ballast only gets warm. I routed the wire through the bottom of the bumper, pulled all the pop clips and wired it that way.
hey dude wut up.. like your vids.. question . can it be use as turn signal does it change from white to amber??
Thanks! and unfortunately it does not... I'm not sure if there is a bezel out there that has that feature.
+JoJo Seaman yeah man I felt cheated lol!
What headlights are you running? Has a turquoise tint to it and they slowly get brighter.
+Shawn N. Hey Shawn, they are the OLM all in one HID kit 6000k from Subispeed
Azusa Canyon?
Thanks Brother. Helped alot. I was wondering what that damn white wire was for too. haha. Subscribed.
+Brent Haverty thanks man! Anytime glad I can help
Hey Steemax, Is there a way to get them to only run when the headlights are off? Just act exactly like the normal DRL, and turn off when the headlights go on. I'm thinking of getting these as the switchbacks and want to make sure there won't be any issues.

What top mount u using?
TurboXS
thanks breh!
Will it work on a 15-19 sti?
Bought the same thing with the extra quick connect but something tells me I still need the subispeed drl harness to get the c light drl feature, what is the quick connect harness really for? Is it only used if you already have the subispeed drl harness?

Dont think I would have gone with the subispeed just because they are glossy. If i do these or will be the ones with matte finish. Can't remember the company tho. They look awesome tho.
+Anthony Zupanek thanks Anthony, I went with gloss to match the grill, I think the matte one you're looking for are the OLM's
What kind of connector is on the back of the SubieSpeed beZel ? Is it a 9006 style connector ?
Looks like it's an H11... straight from their site "Since most of our customers have non-JDM vehicles, we've adapted these to have a standard H11 connected on the end."
Got chu .. I'm trying to t tap these into my sidemarkers..
Do you know how to wire these as a DRL setup? Without parking lights on. Thanks.
+skier6666 you would just have to use the DRL fuse right next to the low beam one I pointed out in the video. Then you unplug the DRL harness near the passenger side fog light and horn behind the bumper. That will make it so your bezels are the only DRLs (your high beams will still work)
Already have DRL unplugged so I will try the fuse connection you mentioned. Thank You!
So I have the DRL plug unplugged & the add a fuse plugged into the high beam fuse. The DRL strip only comes on with high beams.
So the way you have it setup is always on or only when you put your headlights on? I want to run them all the time as a DRL and have them coming in a few days, any help would rock!
Hey, I have them setup to only turn on with headlights. If you want them always on you would tap into both the fuses I showed in the video instead of how I only tapped into the 30a
awesome thanks but quick question, the harness it comes with only has one add a fuse correct?
yes that's correct you will need the $5 optional quick connect subispeed offers. You use that to replace the single add-a fuse with two
perfect, I ordered that as well, thanks dude.
Anytime!
So these will stay on even when parking lights are on correct?
+Midnite8 you can set them up that way if you'd like, I have them setup to only turn on when the low beams are on
Steemax - hey what do you have to tap into to make them stay on with parking lights also? or does it stay on automatically with them when you tap into the low beam?

Are your C lights stock in this video?
+IBleedBolts yup, only swapped out the bulbs for sylvannia LED's
What you using for your C-light?
+J.Ralph Roman they are just basic sylvannia LED's
great video, any idea which fuse slot would you use to turn the bezels on when selecting the first (notch) on the headlight lever before selecting the 2nd (notch) to turn actual headlights on?
i was thinking slot 15 in the manual's diagram. Your thoughts?
are you sponsored by them?
no, I wish... I could use a pair of those new headlights haha
Steemax have you emailed them? I just emailed VMR for some rims and just got sponsored. You have way more subscribers than me and you get good views. You gotta hit them up.
+WHENZLUNCH oh snap! Congrats man! I should start emailing lol, gotta get proactive I guess
Steemax yea man I was super shocked when I got emailed back....
it didn't match my 6000k head light and morimoto c light.....oh well. bezel led was more like 4800k
+WRX Channel interesting i found they matched my 6k HID's pretty darn well actually. I think the bezels are advertised as 5500 on Subispeed's sight if I'm not mistaken
Steemax which low beam bulbs you use?
+WRX Channel I have the OLM All in one 35w HIDs
Steemax oh ok. my low beams are slightly cool whites as you can see... it will match my old olm HID though
instagram.com/p/BN_MuU4jrQQ/
Ah I see it
Mannn how did you route it to the other side? I can’t figure it out for the life of me
