    // My Story
    I am currently a software developer who once modeled and thought I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry. While I was modeling in Hong Kong, I eventually felt the desire to further my education. I decided to depart the modeling world and move back to Canada, knowing that could be the end of my modeling opportunities. I attended Ryerson University for GCM (Graphic Communications Management), as I thought I might still work in the fashion industry in another capacity. It was in my last year of university, I was introduced to a very basic coding course. I instantly fell in love. From there I knew I wanted to pursue software development but didn't have a clue where to start. I didn't want to go back to university as I just completed a four-year degree. I decided to enroll in a 10-week intensive coding Bootcamp. From there I started working at a small startup learning and growing my technical and soft skills. I then transitioned to a larger company where I am a software developer and technical consultant today.

    I got my data analytics cert a few months ago, it's not hard at all!! If you're poor, this could change your life. Data analyst jobs are 60k+ entry level and this field is growing every year. The demand for data analysts is expected to grow 125% in the next five years. If you're interested, I suggest you start studying Excel and SQL (cleaning the data) PowerBi (visualization) and giving explanations of your findings. That's literally all you need to find a job.

      This is region specific tbh. In regions highly populated, people face a lot of competition because job postings require a lot of skills which they put to filter people skilled in most things. Most jobs have Python/R in the listings & then some even list Data Warehouse, ETL & ML modelling.
      It's easier to say "if you are poor, this could change life" despite the fact that maximum poor population are from third world countries where the competition is heck strong that IT sector is too saturated. The country where I am from has more than lakhs of people upskilled in Data Analytics and struggling to get their first job as data analyst.

    Skills I never see brought up that I think is worth adding is project management and general interpersonal communication. My company (most companies for that matter) is not some fancy high tech company with a huge revenue. It's a relatively small retail/wholesale business that runs on legacy CRUD projects with some complex business flows depending on the process. We don't have project managers so the developers have to do everything, including the frustrating parts of project management. Depending on my workload I would end up doing more project management than actual development. I would say those soft skills were the most meaningful skills I've obtained since graduating college almost five years ago. But the downside is that my technical skills have been stagnant the last three years so I feel very left behind.

Learn whatever you enjoy, whatever you're passionate about, and you'll find plenty of work for it. Practically every store and business is hiring. There is a shortage of truckers, firefighters, cops, airline pilots, chefs, software developers, you name it. The main problem is inflation and the cost of living crisis, but the actual work is abundant. My personal thing that I enjoy is cybersecurity, so that's my focus. Good luck to all of you, I'm sure you'll be making scads of money in whatever you choose.

    I really don't know where to start from, I'm currently 23 and working a low salary 9-5 jobs but I'm thinking of buying courses and probably investing time and some money to learn one of these skills. Unlike others, I don't have passion for these yet but only because I think it's better for the future....so it would be great if any one can tell me where I can start from..which is more in demand and which skill can still be beneficial in short time (without having to study something for 5 years)

    Hello! I’m 30, almost 31, and I’ve always wanted to learn how to program but never did it. There are no excuses for it.. is it too late to pick up a programming language? I’d love to learn how to program with Python. Is it also mandatory to learn multiple languages or can just a Python programmer make it? Also.. what about the math skills required for programming? Thanks to any who will take 2 minutes out of their busy life to give me some guidance around this topic

    I'm a copywriter by trade with no experience in coding etc. I want to expand my skill set to avoid obsoletion by the likes of ChatGPT, and have decided to train for a future career in web3, as I already write for a lot of blockchain related organisations. How would you best recommend i get into the field of AI, right now I'm just trying to learn JS and I'm strongly considering getting an AWS certificate.
