Excellent video, I would just add that you don't need to rely on or be concerned about getting the exact CO2 cylinder that you bought filled, since you can just exchange it at your local welding supply store for another cylinder that is full and just pay for the CO2. The benefit to that is you won't have to worry about getting the cylinder re-certified when the date that is stamped on the cylinder becomes expired. The cylinders that you will get in exchange will always have a current date and will have recently been inspected by the professional - filling the cylinder. Also the tare weight (weight if the cylinder) is always stamped on the side of the cylinder next to the marking (TW)
Bonus, the CO2 cylinder can pull double duty on your MIG welder. Mine get used for welding most of the time but they're always handy for portable power. Every welder should collect CO2 cylinders. Also note a vapor withdrawal CO2 cylinder becomes a liquid withdrawal cylinder when you turn it upside down and can be an effective CO2 fire extinguisher! I'm going to make a hose and extinguisher nozzle for mine since that would be a good way to store them. CO2 cylinders are triple use, power, welding and fire suppression.
I put together almost the exact same thing (15 lbs) when I went road racing in the 80's and it would run power tools, air wrenches for wheels and even high speed die grinders for quite a number of full weekends and I never ran out of air power... was super slick & got the idea from watching roofers using them to run their nail guns all day long

My Jaco deflator has been amazing. The pressure reading has always been spot on and it actually has a little flashlight that has helped me out a few times. Can’t say enough good stuff about Jaco products

I did similar thing i went to a air gas distrubutor shop, got 15lbs tank ., i got power tank regulator, hose, inflator when i was starting out, i was learning co2 systems. Oh got tank handle too, to protect tank top area, and serves as grab carry handle. When tank goes empty i go back to gas air shop to get a swap tank . Tank does not need to be pretty appearane does not matter, Its a certified good tank they give you. Dont need fancy looking tank. The title to this video should have been "what the big air tank guys dont want you to know!" lol. I just pieced together this setup and the total was $260 with the gauge, air chuck, shipping and tax. They actually have a complete regulator with connector and elbows available so you don't have to piece those together. Its super easy and I will be laughing at my friends with their powertanks 🤣😂

I use Teflon tape. Be sure to keep the tape off the bottom couple threads (so it doesn't beak off and contaminate your system), and be sure to wrap in the correct direction.

Just built mine, way cheaper than powertank setup..I used harbor freight tire inflator with built in gauge, HF yellow coiled air hose as well. Used the HF Milton brand industrial brass fittings as well. Don’t go with amazon for these extra accessories. HF stuff as good if not better and way better price..on the gauge for the tank, go with a 3,000 PSI one though. Tanks are rated for 3,000 PSI, so you want to know if it’s close to that pressure , especially if tank is left in a hot vehicle. The gauge was purchased on eBay for approximately 15 dollars and be sure you purchase the one with 1/8” male NPT thread. At around 3,000 psi the tank will vent extra pressure. Don’t want that happening in an enclosed space FYI.

I'm wondering how these would hold up if left inside my land cruiser (90+ degrees) at a trailhead while I'm away a couple days backpacking. I've read everything from "it'll blow up if left inside a hot car" to "at worst it'll leak if a seal is blown, but not blow up."
The CGA320 valve in these tanks should have a pressure relief valve included. This allows the tank to vent out excess pressure WELL BEFORE it will blow up. I only carry my CO2 tank on offroad trips where I might lose a bead or suffer a bad sidewall cut. I don't carry it on leisurely drives or trips to the mall like the overlander guys do. If you are just driving to the trailhead and have a spare tire, why would you carry a CO2 bottle????
Chris DesertDog because I need to air back up for the ride home, of course. Some trailheads are remote, rocky, muddy, etc. Probably not a good idea if these would vent (possibly empty) in heat.
Do you not have problems with the tank venting when temperatures are high? When I owned paintball guns I would always have issues filling the co2 tanks during the summer time and having them vent. I'm curious how you don't have that issue, especially if you're wheeling in a hot desert.

It's very rare that a valve fails, but if it does happen in a confined space, it could be deadly. I wouldn't take that chance.
Can the Genetic 227C-150 Flow Regulator, regulate the 150 psi output or will you have to have a separate regulator to control the air going into the tools, for example if you have a air tool that requires less than the 150 psi output...Thanks

All the gauge does anyway is tell you when the tank is completely empty. Really not necessary at all.

Tank is mounted in an open Jeep or an open rock buggy. I don't store ANY compressed gas cylinders in an enclosed cab.

Nope, you only get 150psi, which is fine for the die grinder I bring on the trail with me.
