The Milwaukee Tool M12 Underbody Light gives me the chills. I have never been so excited to use a light under our lift ever before. This magnetic light is a game-changer for automotive mechanics all over the world. Milwaukee Tool designed this light with unmatched maneuverability. The light has two swivel points with 300 degrees of horizontal rotation and up to 180 degrees of vertical rotation.
The strong magnetic base will cling to the slightest amount of metal. There is no worry of bumping the light and it falling due to the lack of magnetism. There is also a 12" magnetic storage tray to hold nuts and bolts.
On high, the LED produces 1200 lumens of TRUEVIEW High-Definition Output. Milwaukee claims this is the best color light to be able to see different colors as you would in normal daylight. This LED underbody light is IP54 rated, impact, and corrosion-resistant to most chemicals found in the auto shop, guaranteed by a 5-year tool warranty.
#MilwaukeeTool #GameChanger #GOAT
Milwaukee just cant leave being the king of personal lighting alone. This is a grand slam. This will be my new panel light for sure. Wow.
Just picked one up and it is a really good light. The magnets are STRONG. I can see it being a new favorite 👌🏻
Getting light in them hard to see spots is a job saver
That's an awesome light, great video thanks for the info!!
You bet
Great channel, always solid reviews. 👍
great show Brian thanks
You bet
Cool. Just bought thd m12 rover service and repair light for mostly under hood work. I gotta see how well it works under vehicle.
Thanks Brian 😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Would make a good light on a bench vise or bench grinder
It was awesome to move it from the truck to the vise. I cannot say enough good about this light.
It would have to be mounted higher up, otherwise you'd have a rats nest of metal chips and grinder dust stuck to it. The magnets are really strong.
How about that long term review on that benpak. Asked over a month ago? Recently purchased a HD9XW. Thanks
I have it on my list to do. Lots to get through my friend. If you wanted to discuss it, I am willing yo talk to you.
I agree would be awesome to see this underbody light in the M18 Line as well Brian @WorkshopAddict
Just got this light, it's spendy but man is it worth it.
I see your working on a Toyota Brian Nice @1:10 @WorkshopAddict
Not mine. Trying to make this truck capable of handling 500 pounds of tongue weight. Sad.
@@WorkshopAddict that's very sad Especially since I know that Is a Toyota Tundra rear Axle
@@AntonioClaudioMichael 2021 Tundra. Could not haul our 2 place snowmobile trailer that is all aluminum and one sled without bottoming out on small bumps. 2 sleds and it sat on the jounce bumpers. How can you call that a truck.
@@WorkshopAddict wow super weak leaf springs
@@WorkshopAddict that is sad very sad I'm sure is capable of hauling sounds like weak suspension components
Just bought 12 of these.
Thank you for the invite video
Awsome vid thanks for the info. That is a pretty sweet light. I would have to see the actual chem resist to believe it, because that is claimed alot and doesn't always prove to be the case. Here is hoping.
That is a time test and hard to duplicate over a short time. I will keep this updated.
Hard to imagine it will stand up to much brakleen
looks like the mechanics are in mind, but I'm thinking as an electrician this would be swell in electrical rooms where I could stick it to a panel, articulate to light up whatever I'm working on or replacing, and stick the panel cover screws to the magnetic holder on the span FFS. might just order one of these, despite having just gotten the m12 rover and about a year ago the m12 rocket light. I've never heard a tradesman complain about having too much light after all (though to be fair I may have too many dollars in lights lol)
Home Depot has this model (Milwaukee 2126-20 m12) sale right now for $150 !
The thing with magnetic mounting is a lot of new cars are coming out with aluminum hoods. Other than that this light looks versatile. One question, how does the on off button works? Is it a one click on and off like the under hood light or is it like the rover light? I hated the rover light on off button, you have hit that button too times to turn it off.
Power button is on and off and secondary button toggles the three modes
My 2002 Volvo has an aluminum hood, but this lools a bit heavy to hang from there. There's usually a ferrous strut brace, engine mount, radiator support, PS pump etc to stick to.
Boy I want one, but just don't need it at full price. 179 with battery and charger seems right to me, but I wonder if it won't go on sale for at least a year?
Any thoughts?
Home Depot has them on sale now for $150: Milwaukee 2126-20 m12 underbody light
Would love to add this to my lighting arsenal but damn I have the M12 rocket light, lantern, under hood light, numerous red lithium headlamps & M18 search light. Can you have to many lights? 🤣🤷🏼♂️
Never.
Exactly my problem! But I want it! haha
I know what you mean.
I have the Ryobi 18v folding light, M12 under the hood light, Sealey LED 3604 and a few other torches. Nah, I’m ok for now. 😃
I have the rover, the underbody looks a lot more useful but it's pricey.
Love from india❤
Thanks for taking the time on this one but... We watch this channel while taking everything at face value and $180 for a lightbulb that's made in the land of bat guano is a hard pass considering there's one being offered by the Kmart of Kung Flu tools - Harbor Freight for about 30 bucks (regular price but they can be had for $20 on sale), it has a very strong magnet, runs on an 18650, and it's rechargeable. A guy could literally stick six of those HF 'Braun' lights under a chassis for the same money at $30 a pop, and have less shadows to deal with. At 20 bucks each, a wrench monkey can get himself a drawer full for the same $180...
Funny you should say that. You will need 6 of them to get the same runtime using an 18650 as you would with an m12 battery. I easily have over $1000 in milwaukee lights. I can tell you without question that there is a good reason people pay the premium for them. They are the best in the business.
I understand that you feel 179 is expensive. I ordered a second on and yes, it is pricey. What Milwaukee Tool is not pricey, but this light is worth it to me.
@@WorkshopAddict $179 for a bare light is completely unjustified and you are 100% correct on their tools being overpriced while being made in the land of coof where forced labor is the norm. Maybe one day big red will make tools here again and provide Americans with manufacturing jobs. Maybe...
As long as the light is fully vaccinated I'll pay any price at all -- it's worth it.
Need an m18 version
They have an m18 version now.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful happy holidays holidays Is F it merry Christmas
👍🏻🎄🎁🍻🍺
Merry Christmas
How much is this game?
What is the price ???
$179, I took advantage this past Monday and got $20 off at acmetools with a coupon that day. $159 still seems pricey for a small low lumen light but it looks so versatile! Should be in mid week.
There is no Milwaukee light that is not pricey. This one is worth every dime!
@@WorkshopAddict haha that is true! They need to stop releasing them because this one makes number 11 from Milwaukee that I own 😂 ranging from personal lighting/rover lights to 2 rocket lights m12/m18
LOL. TTI thanks you, I am sure. :)
Im hoping for cheaper knock-off that I can stick a magnet on...
Brian, I wil get it
I am getting another one!
At 1:07 12 thousand lumens?
1200. It was a mistake I missed.
@@WorkshopAddict 12K lumens you would be able to see the moon in day light LOL
This seems like it would work even better as with an M18 battery because they wouldn't need that funky handle sticking out. The 18v battery would just add to the weight of the base and look a lot cleaner.
I don’t know but it appears the way the battery is sticking out at an angle like that that it would act as a counterweight for when the magnetic bass is not being used.
Does it stand up well on a wooden surface if your using a CP 2.0 or CP 3.0 Battery?
Not as well, but you can do it. You just have less adjustment with a lighter battery. It almost has to be straight up like a desk lamp.
I had the same problem and solved it with a counter balance metal weight that attaches to the bottom magnet. Experiment with a couple of sizes the best I found was a 8-10mm thick 5 cm wide and a length of 20-25cm it keeps it narrow for working under cars on the ground and wont affect it when you move it around alot, and i use it this way for a work light on a desk it has never fallen over yet you could also use a wider base metal peice but the wider bottom tends to get in the way alot when moving it, I also used a couple of layers of tape between the magnet and the metal counter balance.
expensive but the only light you actually need. buy once cry once.
That’s a great light for around $70 but at $179 that’s ridiculous.
I'd say around $100, maybe $120. The M12 Rover Service Light lists at $70 now. I'd compare this to that with the addition of the arm and 500 more lumens.
Earth magnets are very expensive, and this thing is filled with strong quality magnets. If you checked the magnet's prices, you would be surprised that Milwaukee did not charge that much!
Thank you
Welcome!
12000 lumen?!?!?!?!?!?!?.... thinking that should be "1200"
Did I slip and say 12,000 Lumen? It is 1200.
Looks like a total home run, it will live on the side of my toolbox as a default position. Working up the nerve to pull the trigger on this AND the new M18 light tower. 🤪
179? hmm... and you have 179K subscribers. Now festool lights does not seem that expensive.
Wow twelve thousands lumens 😝
1200, I messed up.
goodness, that's on the expensive side!
That's BS! I recently bought the M12 rocket light and one of MW's food lights. Now this gets released! :-/
This light was actually announced 3 months ago and I’ve been patiently waiting ever since! But yes just released for purchase less than two weeks ago but preorders were possible since early November.
Perhaps try returning either light if it’s been less than 90 days at Home Depot?
@@franciscohenriquez6813 . Yep. Got my flood light from HD. Maybe I'll try to return it and get this new light. It seems far superior for automotive work. Thanks!
Wow what are you smoking 12,000 lumens lol
1200, Sorry I messed up.
Test it in a real mechanic atmosphere... you know with the majority of super tight engines small cars have that mechanics have to work with. Where you have to disassemble alternators parts of ac units and air intake manifolds just to simply change a spark plug. That would be a great test. Unless all you work with is 1 ton plus trucks this is not a fair evaluation. Any flash light will do great in a giant trucks wheel well.
This is an underbody light. It is meant to be used just like we did. If you have a metal hood or struts that this could stick to, it would be great.
@@WorkshopAddict ok. Test it in a toyota camery.
@@keenowl1410 errr... go ask that Kilmer dude?
@@keenowl1410 “ underbody light” underbody video… and…. It has other uses is his point. Kind of like , right tool for the right job, but some tools can be used for other purposes, focus…
@@jncn1490 take your own advice and focus. I'm talking about testing it under the chassis of the majority of cars out there. I.e honda accords, Volkswagen's, small sedans etc. And of course under the hood as potential other uses as you yourself said. Focus.
First
Do you like fixing cars
Yes
What kind of lawn mower do you have
12,000 lumens in high! …WOW!!
holy you need a fact checking editor Batman!!! 🙄
A bit underpriced. I mean overpriced.
Why do you say that? 🤔
I can't wait to get mine haven't received it yet very nice @WorkshopAddict
