The Small Faces - Itchycoo Park 1967

- Over Bridges of Sighs
To rest my eyes in shades of green
Under Dreaming Spires
To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been
What did you do there? - I got high
What did you feel there? - Well I cried
But why the tears there? - I'll tell you why - yyyyy
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
I'll tell you what I'll do - What will you do?
I'd like to go there now with you
You can miss out school - Won't that be cool
Why go to learn the words of fools?
What will we do there? - We'll get high
What will we touch there? - We'll touch the sky
But why the tears there? I'll tell you why
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful

Marriott and the band were a class act.
There will never be an era of great music like this again....i am so glad that i was growing up then... i am now 78.
Such a hit! Love it like many songs from the 60’s.
Until the day and leave this earth I will wish Stevie Marriott was still here.
So true! Such an incredible talent, mesmerizing, unique but troubled individual
Amen
Voice
I love all those old hits that reminds me of my childhood.
This record had a BIG influence on my life. I'm still recovering. Wonderful people managed by a evil greedy SOAB.

Childhood? At what age did you have your first smoke?
I was thinking about something beautiful the other day and it reminded me to look up this song. 55 yrs old and it's still a great song. 🎵💓
I always wanted to marry this handsome guy , I was in love with him and his terrific voice , i was 21 years old when this fab classic was on the scene , now im 76 years old ,, i still love this beautiful song xx lol Jane x
Summer of love
Great voice. Great song.
Me too!
Terrific song, sung by a guy with a voice made of fire.
But be happy you didn't get to marry him ........
Don't blame u lady. If I was gay I'd snap him up in a second 🤣
Some days I really mis wen I was kid the 60s and 70s was sow COOL man
i want go to itchycoo park forever
at this moment i am 17 not 70 the sixties music best ever
Hey Ian, if you're 17 and you want to check out some interesting (I think, good) music from the sixties, here are a couple of suggestions: I Can't Control Myself by The Troggs, Under My Thumb by The Rolling Stones, Kicks and Hungry, both by Paul Revere And The Raiders, I Can See For Miles by The Who, You Really Got Me by The Kinks. Eight Miles High by The Byrds, Mellow Yellow by Donovan. Oh hell! I could go on forever! Oh, by the way. I'm 71. Wish I was 17
Music is Music! Imagine dying in the 1940's and missing all of this! MC5 is another band you may want to check out!
So love this song - Steve Marriott was one of the greatest front man/men in Rock history!
My favourite song from the '60s. My favourite song EVER.
The two things go together
IIIII GOT HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH
Another brilliant song from the 60s I love the small faces. Long live mods. 🤩😊😎🤗❤🎉
A lifetime that was so real
As a kid growing up in the 2000s this and many other songs were played by my dad on long car journeys… happy memories
Best rock voice I've ever heard,, he sang with humble pie so great,,, rock on,,,
Yes even Robert Plant was little jealous by Steve Marriot voice. It is perfect.
@@kipponi Aw, was he? 💓 His bandmate Jimmy Page has the neighbor from hell. (He's always bemoaning about something he doesn't like going on at the Page estate, lol)!😭🏰
Last I heard, Page won a dispute w/him over the rights to prune his own tree. If Mr. Page was my neighbor, I'd have gone over and helped prune it.💓🌲💓
🌎🎵My favorite rock band in the world!🎵🌎
This is a great song! "It's all too beautiful"!💓🎵💓
I wish that was now.
NICE COMMENT
Unbelievable time Norma I wish it were to
60s. Lol so memorable and fun
This is a song shared in the hearts of my sweet man and I. He's 66 and I'm 64.
💞💫✌
I was deep in the bowels of LA when this came out. Blew me away⚡️
Never ever did I imagine the world that really is when associating with this song in my youth...And now I KNOW!!!
Friday afternoon, drop acid, skip classes, go to the park and feed the squirrels. We had no ducks where I lived, but we had thousands of squirrels. 😎
It is all too beautiful! Love the flanging going on throughout the song. Very gorgeously trippy.
Eines der schönsten Jahre meines Lebens !
I came back to England in August 1967 - 'All You Need is Love' and 'Itchycoo Park' were being played endlessly. I still believe in both.
Its like a trip back in time... IN the Fourth grade and I already loved music..
What a great song!
What a f...ing band !
I love it/them! 💓🎵💓
Steve was, is, and forever will be my hero.
Mac, Ronnie, Steve...all gone now. Kenney’s the only one left. 😥
Love this song my mum used to play it when I was a kid and also my aunt and nana wonderful times
My nana was amazed when I said the tracks about lsd ... this will be played at my funeral for sure ..
I really really want to go to that park
Haaaaahhhhaa
Season two of the Handmaid's Tale brought me here.
🌿👀 Thank you, really enjoyed listening. 🐦
I love these gifted musicians even throughout all of the years past I still listen to their music. I love this song because I was a high school public school teacher for decades, and I know for sure that young teenage students love to skip school and skip the boredom of daily lessons, and go to a park to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Whether or not they get high on some substance or just get high on life itself enjoying the park with its ducks , skipping school for a day is one of their delights, and I do not blame them because they are at the height of their prime. Young people are so enjoyable, and they can just get high of life itself, and ,yes, "It Is All Too Beautiful" when they do. I got high on life itself when I was young. I "get the drift" of these lyrics. I still love Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian "Mac" McLagan, and Kenny Jones and I even love "The Faces" music which came along later with Ronnie Lane, Ron Wood, Kenny Jones, and Rod Stewart. Rock on.
Oh, I know! These songs are timeless classics. ⏳🌌
My best friend and I skipped school one morning to go to out for breakfast.🏃♀🏃♀🏫 We were hitchhiking back to school when who should just happen to be driving along and in our direction but my MOM!!!! 👍👍👍👍🚗
She gave us the dirtiest look and pulled over and said "Can I give you gals a lift back to school where you belong"?! Glad we weren't tripping or anything, lol!🤪🤪
Thanks for being a teacher. I remember all my teachers. I'm sure they remember you fondly, too!💓🎵It's all too beautiful🎵💓
Insanely perfect.
👍🏾...in remembrance of Steve Marriott
This song is deeper, maybe, than a lot of people realize. It's about escaping inner pain-the driving force behind substance abuse.
It's an acid trip.
Long live Kenny Jones. The only surviving small face
💎
Songs should be primarily listened to for music quality, not the lyrics.A song with a great melody/arrangement will still be great even if the text were mediocre. A musically poor song will never be improved by 1st-rate lyrics.

Yes it is about LSD , and being on LSD .
Loved Steve when this song came out..still love his songs..there is only one Steve..🙏

i will always love steve nobody can take your place
I LOVE THIS SONG
Love it.
I sing or whistle this tune whenever I see the beautiful ocean, or sunset, or just about anything beautiful. So guess thats an awful lot. Lol. Good stuff
That just happened to me! My friend started singing this when I brought her to my special hidden path to our beach🐚
Wow! So cute 🥰 I'm 63 and will always love Steve 💕
Always liked Steve Marriott since my sister brought home a few 45 singles which had Lazy Sunday , Tin Soldier and Easy lazy and slow.
He was a great Entertainer.
Absolutely wonderful!! Fantastic song & group!! Wonderful memories of great times ..🎶🎤🎸🥁🥰❤️💖💕
I love this! Reminds me of my childhood!
Thank You for the upload. Music at its best.
Great showmanship and strong unique voice.
Thank you for the great post!!👍
The TIME-LIFE commercial selling music cds from the 1960’s made this song better known to me. This and THE EASYBEATS song FRIDAY ON MY MIND are very prominent in that 30 minute commercial. Both are great songs.
Pure psychedelic music from back in the day.....I remember well when this came out and went out and bought it. I played it over and over again and still have it. LOVED THOSE DAYS!!!
WONDERFUL 👍🌞THANKING YOU
As a kid I used to think Jefferson Airplane did this song with Grace Slick singing , lol!. I love this song.
I literally laughed out loud at that, lol, thank you!
Love this song, childhood memories. I would of loved to have met Steve Marriot and the group, a true Legend of 🇬🇧🎸 music to this day,💜🥰
⚡️❤️
@@mikeclaunch3135 Hi, The Small Faces were truly ahead of their time and their music is deep.
I love old music!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
played music professionally for a long time. love the Hammond B-3 sound, hated helping the keyboardist lug it from the van into the venues.
I love it!!!
These were the best of times by far.
Agreed. Thank God we got to experience it in real time.
✌💞💫
Dynamite!!
Wow. I was only about 11 years old when this song came out. I remember the song from childhood.
Me too.
It's All Too Beautiful My Friends!!! I Have Always Loved This Song!!!
Great band..
Reminds me of the good ol days sure miss them do you know what I am saying 😂
Ronnie Lane..... Wow
Outstanding!
Very cool Promotional Film by The Small Faces!
So good...they don't.make em like these guys anymore...
LIKED STEVE WHEN HE SANG WITH HUMBLE PIE
Steve Marriott is my Favorite singer
Ooh i haven't seen this one before 😃 nice! I wish the camera focused on Ronnie Lane more tho. Like even just during his bits....
Great song
As much as I love him Paul Weller clearly nicked all his moves from Marriott
Just accelerate up to 1,25 and you'll get to 1977, somewhere in the city...
Was my favorite in the 60s
Good Times in the park with my cousins. We didn't know he was always on drugs then. Sad. Don't do it😕😕😕
They were all using. Hash, weed, lsd....remember the "innocent" Monkees? Them too. It was the 60s and then the 70s with cocaine and alcohol that really did in Steve Marriott. My point is drugs and alcohol were available to them at a very early age, like young teens.
Good advice
great great song!!
Steve Marriot is the greatest rock singer that ever lived.
Try Freddie Mercury
Small Faces forever!
Brilliant song
So, it's a song about mitching from school and tripping.
The Men Who Stare at Goats brought me here.
some great instructions to live by......where the rubber meets the road, where life is lived
Psychedelic , aloha
Great sound Kenny
Yep
Brilliant
There are only a few statements I am no longer capable of communicating to even myself via the use of normal speech. "It's all too beautiful" is one of them. Must be sung.
I GOT HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH
A better version of Rod Stewart's voice before Rod was known
What??? Not Rod Stewart. Unless you are joking. No one, no one had the vocals of Steve Marriott. No one
@@bethh.9647 I said he was a better Version of Rod Stewart. Are you stupid? His problem was lack of ability to write radio hit records. Plus drug addiction. THose two things kept him from the big time. But a Young Rod Stewart was an impressive voice. Where is the joke in that?
Severance brought me here 😁😁😁😁
Hi
1:07
I tell you what I'll do
What will you do?
I'd like to go there now with you
You could miss out school
Why go to learn the words of fools?
It's "Easy Listening" and Stoned shit... Excellent!!
This would be an awesome cover song for Lindsey Buckingham
another great group in the 60s were the hollies and the kinks
55 years later, just Kenney left... ah, but the music :-)
Beautiful an ugly green eyes
